Aw fuck yeah! I was interested in this before, but now I'm definitely getting it. Abnett + Guard = awesome.
YEEEEAAAAAAH. Now you KNOW the story on this game's gonna be good!
Interview with Abnett and a developer. (sorry about the website's annoying ads in between paragraphs ) It confirms the main adversary is a Nurgle cult we're investigating. Also Dan says
Another interview with those two. Sounds like the game's hub will be server-based like an MMO rather than lobby-based like Vermintide.
The release date is currently set for September 13th, 2022.

I love how that one Guardsman basically just went "Yeah we know we've told you essentially nothing for a while, here."
Oh right, Our Spiritual LiegeMatt Ward's writing for Darktide too.
...and apparently even more names are judging from his further comments.

Oh fuck.
So the Ultrasmurfs are gonna be in this too.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The final boss will be Hopeless Boss Fight before Rawbutt Girlyman barges in at the last second to skewer them.
So less reasons to be interested in 40k product? :D
He's a creative consultant. He's not writing the thing or making the game. Matter of fact, Dan Abnett is credited as the writer.

Wasn't Matt Ward a writer for the Vermintide games and those turned out to be fine?
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.I'm not actually worried, I just don't let old memes lie. Also Matt Ward said he scripted Bardin in the first game (Bardin is love, Bardin is life), so there, he's obviously fine.
I feel like it's fair to consider them both "writers" of it, not just from Matt Ward's own admission on his position but from his willingness to credit others as part of the "writing team" as well. Since it's all behind closed doors and we'll probably have little to no idea who was responsible for writing what out of the game's writing, it'd be proper to just assume an equal share from anyone who doesn't have the "Lead Writer" title on their head until proven otherwise.
Yep, the Vermintide series' writing is excellence and I half-consider the series a great collection of Warhammer Fantasy dialogue that comes with a fun first-person close-combat action co-op game too.
Yeah, character dialogue and immediate story seem to be fine for Ward. Give him control over the broader setting and everyone wants to be an Ultramarine.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984It's also got a pretty kickass soundtrack.
Sadly yes.
Apparently according to a community manager about this trailer, Fatshark continues to prove themselves as a racket that exists to keep Alix Wilton Regan employed
Shit I mean I'd do that if I could afford it
Who is Alix Wilton Reagan?

It's a bit of a long story, but the most relevant statement would be Vermintide's Kerillian and Catrinne.
Ah, I see.
Also, the community manager didn't think through their words right so Wrymwood is not voiced by Alix Wilton Regan...though I guess what my direct statement before was still true.
Fatshark's first-person co-operative shooter game as Imperial Guardsmen set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
So basically Vermintide, but Warhammer 40,000Ok snark aside, the developers have said the gameplay style goes a bit heavier into ranged-combat as opposed to melee unlike Vermintide (maybe about 50/50) and the game's writer has been revealed to be the eminent Dan Abnett who said a bit more on the basic format's justification (players are prisoners recruited by the Inquisition and must prove their worth via missions).
