Drake was about to get out his deck to just dissociate by staring at a favored card but with a possible duel brewing he thought better of it and just to be safe decided to outright state his current stance.
"Before anyone thinks of challenging me, I'm kinda fragile right now and don't really want to do any duels for a bit? Thank you for your consideration."
It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

"Oh, hello. You can call me Ernie." The young boy smiles. "And don't worry, Drake. I understand. I'd still like to duel someone at some point, maybe tonight, but no big deal. I just put together the deck, so." He chuckles a bit.

This was something of a conflicting feeling. On one hand, Thomas did not really feel like challenging anyone now. He was not in a good mood, after all, and at the thought of dueling against one of his peers there, flashbacks of the tournament played in his mind.
On the other hand however, a duel's a duel- he wouldn't be there if he didn't love dueling, and in a way, he kinda did want to have a match against someone. Maybe with lower stakes, he wouldn't put on that bad of a performance? Maybe he'd even have some fun.
Instinctively, almost absentmindedly, he took out his own deck from a somewhat worn-out deck protector and looked through it. He then sighed and spoke.
"Woah, woah. I was kinda just joking. I'm not gonna challenge anyone. But, if anyone wants to challenge me, I'd be fine with that."

Tyler did her best hide the sight relief she felt. She really didn’t want to make a seen in the middle of the cafe. Though she didn’t have to keep shuffling, she still did. After a couple more shuffles she flipped the top card of her deck.

Ernie doesn't take out his deck but does nod. "I would be interested in a duel, yes. I put together this deck not long ago, so I haven't been able to honestly test it against an actual opponent. Win or lose, I won't know till I try." He looks to the side a bit. "Not that winning isn't fun, but you get what I mean."

Tyler finally laid her deck in front of herself. She gestured for Enrine to take the decks and cut it. She also laid out her extra deck with a little flourish.
“Im always willing to help someone test their deck. The dueling gods know my brothers forced me to help them test their decks.”

As the group conversed with each other, a woman amongst the other students would stand out to them. She was wearing a heavy looking brown hoodie, despite the heat Argentina. Her skin was brown, her face was broad and her dark brown hair was done up in a ponytail. Most striking of all, however, were her facial tattoos. A v-shape was on her forhead and her chin featured 4 parallel vertical lines. She eyed the students around her like a hunter tracking her prey before her eyes fell on Iggy. She pointed at Ignia, accusingly.
"You! Put that sandwich down and fight me!"
She was already shuffling her deck. On her wrist was an odd looking duel disk. Its casing looked to be made out of some kind of bone.

She takes out her Duel Pad and deck and begins to fasten it to her wrist.

She slotted her deck into her duel disk. Intricate carvings in the bone glowed a pale blue as her disk activated.
"They say 'age before beauty' but since you have neither, I'll go first."
She drew 5 cards and looked them over before setting a monster and a spell/trap facedown.
"You're turn, my little rabbit."
