Declining this thread, mainly because it's not clear that the OP gets the definition of either trope correct. A Wick Check would also be useful but the main issue is that these tropes are not defined that way.

So what's the difference between this and Sufficiently Advanced Aliens again? Because I don't think "gods are actually aliens" and "aliens so powerful they pose as gods" are different enough that they warrant two separate tropes.
