Netflix's Sonic Prime

To be fair, I got a lot of laughs out of what I’ve seen of Boom, but streaming is your home for action cartoons.

Yeah, I have a feeling that if this show was released on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon, they would have axed the show just for being an "action" series, like they did with "Young Justice" and the "Thundercats" 2011 reboot.

Yeah, action cartoons get cancelled after a season on network TV.

On streaming services, they get cancelled after two seasons.

Now we just have to wait a few decades for the next step in the entertainment ladder that will let us have three seasons.

Yeah, streaming is pretty great for action cartoons, but they're not entirely safe either.

I'm glad they're planning on making a more action/adventure take on Sonic, but I'll still have my reservations.

I just hope that the writing in this show is good. No need to repeat the same mistakes from Mega Man: Fully Charged.

Colleen O'shaughnessy said she's not voicing Tails in the series.

Okay, so the whole movie synergy thing probably isn't true considering Colleen's in the movie.

It could be that Tails will have a new voice actor in the next movie and Coleen was just used for now.

Then I'm guessing Kate Higgins will voice Tails in this show instead. Or Tara Strong, or possibly Natalie Palamides.

There's no confirmation on who's voicing what character yet.

Obviously, we know so little that no characters beyond Sonic were even confirmed to appear.

At the very least, people would expect Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow and Eggman to appear, really.

Oh no! So Colleen is not voicing Tails in the new series? It makes me wonder if SEGA is planning on using the cast from Sonic Prime to take over the voice work for the video games since Roger Craig Smith is no longer voicing Sonic.

So, there's a bit more news about what the new series will be about from this writer's tumblr post.

On further thinking, could this show have an all canadian voice cast because it's a canadian production, and that's the reason why the VA's all got changed? I know there's a thing about shows like these having to have canadian actors, like what happened with Xiaolin Chronicles.

Though Xiaolin Chronicles had a cast that entirely had Canadian-American dual citizens.

Well if this is going to be an action show with competent writing I'll probably try it out then, even if it's CGI.

I agree. I don't like judging a show before it comes out. So, we'll see if it's good when it comes out.

I'm not optimistic. But I'll give it a shot. Willing to be surprised.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that, but that is a thing. It's the reason a lot of VA have dual citizenship.

Amy's VA is not coming back. So far it seems just about everyone's getting replaced.

Not very promising. Wildbrain's last cartoon was the Johnny Test reboot on netflix, and man of Actions' was the Ben 10 reboot and Mega Man Fully charged.

I'm gonna take an estimated guess and say that due to Wildbrain's involvement, the cast are likely to be entirely Canadian, ala Gary Chalk, Vincent Tong, and Kathleen Barr.

Which would be mildly amusing given that Gary Chalk once played Dr. Robotnik. I wouldn't be surprised if they got him to play the part again, and probably wouldn't mind, since he felt like he did the best he could with what he was given.

I'm going to be cautiously optimistic about all this, but it seems like Man of Action is trying to move away from Mega Man: Fully Charged and actually focus on a good story. Or at least since they stated that this new Sonic series will be more like Generator Rex, it gives me a bit of hope for this series.
