Homeworld Cataclysm Review (Emergence)
How does a company trademark the name Cataclysm? It's a basic word?
Company tried to trade mark words all the time to make sure no one could make bootleg games with similar name to them. Heck there some case when companies want to trademark words like "Sky" and "Candy".
E.T technically is a Isekai movie
If I recall correctly, Marvel did try to trademark the word mutant at some point in the past as well.
It doesn't help that in America in particular you don't have to be right in doing that, you just need to exhaust the other party if it comes to a legal battle - which is why smaller companies etc would rather just rename their product instead of going through what amounts to a war of attrition.

The Marathon review was trippy because I played the game a while ago and had gotten the basics of the backstory over the Mars colony civil war, then it kept going about a secret cabal I didn’t see…
