Childe doesn't handle ranged attackers too well, so try using a group that focuses strongly upon that. Fischl and Barbara were able to carry me through that fight, with Diluc and my Aero Traveler only acting as damage sponges or a catalyst for the Overload combo.
I. Made a mistake. And spent all my crystals on one rolls instead of getting enough for a 10 roll.
I'm a fucking moron ಠ∀ಠ.
Also, I managed to kill the mage with Lisa, but now I'm stumped on Amber's flying lesson because the path I'm meant to follow just abruptly disappears and im just left confused.
Regardless, I'll continue tomorrow at anyrate
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysCan I reiterate how glitchy and un-intuitive the fight against Storm Terror is? He has unskippable cutscenes that happen during the fight, and leave your character still vulnerable to damage or waste precious time from your ultimate attacks.
Ended up getting my Barbara killed because the cutscene kicked in while she was standing on a platform suffering that AOE damage, causing her to get KO'ed helplessly. Oh, and Storm Terror falling on top of your character might cause you to glitch out and fall UNDER the platform! :/

Yeah, it's a bit glitchy. Now I'm just looking for butterflies for potions and such.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrSingle pulls or tenrolls make absolutely zero difference in this game, except that singles are more controllable. You're guaranteed a 4* every tenth roll if you haven't gotten one, and every other 4* will be on rateup (provided it's the event banner). Every 90 rolls will be a 5*, though the sweet spot for getting one seems to be the late 70's, with the same guarantee of getting the rateup if your previous 5* wasn't—oh, and this IS a 50/50 chance of rateup vs non-rateup too.
And it seems to be the case that if you don't get to the 5* off a banner, it'll roll over to the next event banner.
Why were you still fighting on the AoE platforms? If he launched into one of his cutscene animations it means you were fighting on the things for some reason...

Avatar Source@Mami: Singles count for both pity rates, don't worry.
Yes, pity rates have been confirmed by Mihoyo to carry over.
As a giga-whale found out there is a soft pity starting at 75 which raises the chance for a 5* to about 33%.

Stormterror can launch into a cutscene while you're flying to another platform. I've wiped that way in the fight before due to losing control in the air and slowly helplessly falling before I could regain control.
Oissu!Strange, the trigger for Stormterror to launch into a cutscene appears to be dealing enough damage, so as long as you only fight it on the non-AoE platforms and wait to move until after it's done the cutscene, there's no risk of falling as far as I can tell.
Avatar SourceI'm going to spend all of tomorrow's resin on getting those stupid weapon component ball things. I really dont like how components are tied to specific days.
EDIT: The Stormterror fight kinda sucks. I've had him fall on the platform and then not count as an object for a hot second. So I just couldnt climb him for about half the time he was laying there.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireYeah, last time I fought him I walked through his neck like 3-4 times when he fell. Sometimes I even clipped through it back onto the ground after climbing up it when switching characters.
Welcome to how gacha likes to work. You're only allowed to farm certain things on certain days.
Strange, I've not had much issue with Stormterror. The neck takes a second to register before I can climb on it but it's a predictable fight.
Avatar SourceMy biggest frustration is that there's currently no overlap between that and the event. The event gives some ascention material, but only enemy drops.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI've clipped through the neck a lot too. What's even worse is it can take a second for the game to realize you're stuck in it and let you leave it. I wouldn't say the fight is hard, just really buggy with clunky controls.
The event needing resin is just plain dumb. There's no way to do your weekly resin stuff like Leylines, Domains, and Boss fights and the event without doing the once in the morning and once at night logins that caused people to complain about resin caps in the first place. I really wish the Event meteorites counted as Leylines, you're essentially doing Leyline fights.
Edited by PhiSat on Nov 20th 2020 at 2:11:40 AM
Oissu!Well, you can clear the weekly challenges just by not claiming the rewards.
Avatar SourceRight, because that's an example of good game design, force you to do fights and not claim the rewards for them...
Oissu!Grinding with all of the hassle and none of the gains.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireIt's quicker and more fun than a lot of obligatory grinding in the genre.
Avatar Sourceand , I'm not sure how familiar you two are with gacha games, but it's simply just another case of Freemium Timer designed to either force you to play slowly, or cough up precious resources/money to play more. If anything, Genshin is actually ahead of the game in that they still have playable content if you don't have resin, as opposed to practically every other gacha in the market; sidequests and story quests don't consume resin, unlike other gacha games. It's a sad reality that is unlikely to change in the genre.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Fixed, tho.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets. You sure I'm the right person to be pointing at there?
Avatar SourceBeing familiar with how these things usually play out doesnt make it good. I know how other games do it, but I still dont like it.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAfter finishing my quests, I now have to run up and down the place like a headless fish figuring out which spots I can get the adventuring EXP I need. It's exhausting.
I'm honestly new to games where I don't have a straight forward objective unhindered by anything else so it's kind of new. Not bad, but I feel drained after
Edited by Mami on Nov 20th 2020 at 10:26:45 AM
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysOnce you're done with quests, it's just exploring and doing things that consume resin. No need to rush it or anything.
Avatar SourceWhat's Resin?
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysResin is the Freemium Timer for this game, represented by a moon-like symbol with "<number>/160" beside it, like on the top-right corner of the map screen. You use it to get rewards for some events, usually those that get you upgrade materials like ley lines and some bosses and domains. It replenishes by 1 every 8 minutes, and usually 20-60 is used to claim rewards.
Hm, good to know.
If Childe kicks my butt, I blame you
