Even in the original series, Ren went tailless most of the time.
Visually, Ren and Stimpy look all right... maybe 75% of the time, but they didn't always look good in the original show, either. It looks a hell of a lot better than APC, though, and if these designs were put on the merchandise instead I'd be happy.
At least they remembered the 50s-style backgrounds and the production music. Billy West... well, he's Billy West, what can you say?
I still probably won't watch... unless they bring back Wilbur Cobb or Haggis Mac Haggis. Then maybe I'll check it out.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Billy West sounds better here than in the Futurama reboot.
Ren only sounds a wee bit strained.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Well, Wilbur and Haggis would need new voice actors since Jack Carter and Alan Young passed away.
They got a new guy for Powdered Toast Man when he appeared in the Nick fighting game. They can do the same here.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Actually didn't Eric Bauza (Stimpy in Adult Party Cartoon) fill in for Young as Scrooge Mc Duck a few times?
The footage looks pretty good. Ren actually looks like he takes notes from ALL eras of the show, in different frames he's Spumco, Games or even his Adult Party design. I suppose it means they're at least sticking to the off model style of the series' norm.
And the tail, yeah. They could be forgiven for not noticing he even HAD one. I think the pilot episode was the only time he was consistently drawn with it instead of the odd scene here and there.

Bauza only did Scrooge once on Legend of the Three Caballeros. Scrooge's current VA is split between John Kassir in the Paul Rudish shorts and Mickey's Halloween Celebration, David Tennant on Ducktales 2017 and the 2022 Rescue Rangers movie, and Enn Reitel in video games and Dance Your Ducktales Off.
Also, anyone getting catharsis on seeing the state John K is reduced to now here:
He's now a clothing designer.
Well, that's one route to take when you've got no career left.
(Also, the guy who uploaded that vid has an... interesting channel.)
Fear it... or not.So William Wray (a veteran of the show) took to social media to complain about how the show has become a “writer cartoon”.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
I don't think it's a reverse sexism thing (odds are they'd have treated any female artist from back who tried to input just the same), but I find an ageism situation believable.
That’s probably it. Very sad to hear too.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. My take on it. While I think Camp, Wray, and whoever else should have been allowed to show what kind of material they could write for a reboot and typically I'm disappointed when former writers aren't allowed to come back for a reboot
there has been an increasing number of older creators complaining about things being "too woke" or "too politically correct" (Jerry Seinfeld being a recent edition), so I am starting to see why executives might be a little hesitant to bring on older talent.
Edit: I was misinformed regarding who knew what about John K. and the scandals related to him, and who knew about it.

With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationBy the time John was doing that with young women, Bob and Bill weren't working with him. All that was after he got fired from Nickelodeon, both have been incredibly critical of the guy and have had no contact with him since then, and quite frankly, I think it's a little low to imply that of them (especially since there are other, more noteworthy people who did turn a blind eye)...
As for my thoughts... well, I said it once, I'll say it twice, who knows if this'll ever get out, but they should have let Bob Camp do one last movie the way Craig Bartlett and Joe Murray did. It would have been great and it would have been funny.
Bob, for his part, has apparently made his peace with the whole thing. (And he's been working on the Sponge Bob spinoffs at Nick lately, so God knows he's been getting by.)

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."And Wray did some background paintings for SpongeBob as well.
I'm taking his account with a pinch of salt for now but if the Executive Meddling imputation is true, things aren't looking too good for our cat and chihuahua friends.
Fear it... or not.Even before this, this was such A TERRIBLE IDEA on every single level? Is anyone actually surprised the disaster... GASP! Turned out to be disastrous.
