I wasn't quite sure where to put this, so I'm slapping it here for now. So HBO Max is up, and they're expected to get a bunch of movies and shows over the next few months. I started an account there myself and I like what I'm seeing so far. What does everyone else here think of it? They have plenty of live-action movies, cartoons (Namely Cartoon Network stuff), a bit of anime, and even classic movies from years ago. I'm curious to see if anyone else likes it or doesn't like it.

I have HBO Now, so I wanted to check out the new Looney Tunes.

So, first issue is that I have a TCL Roku TV. Roku is currently excluded from HBO Max. (Amazon Fire too.) Roku does offer HBO Now. They have a serious issue with confusion between Go/Now/Max and what you're entitled to.

Temporarily hooked my laptop to the TV to watch it. The interface is... okay. It's essentially an expanded version of the HBO Now platform, and somewhat klunky to navigate.

It does have a great backlog of WB films; the Studio Ghibli section is also great.

So there have been some reports going on that a big chunk of DC movies (and others like The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie) are already leaving HBO Max in July.

Evidently, due to pre-existing distribution deals, HBO Max will be having monthly rotations of their DC movies. At least for now.

It bites, but what can we do?

The interface is... okay. It's essentially an expanded version of the HBO Now platform, and somewhat klunky to navigate.

Did they do a beta testing like what Disney did with Disney+? If they didn't, it could explain why navigating around the platform sounds klunky...

(I can't confirm since I'm not exactly wealthy for any streaming services beyond Netflix and Amazon Prime. And at $14-15 a month, HBO Max is looking a little too premium right now.)

[up]I feel like most of the people who have HBO MAX now are those who get it for free as part of a prior package. They’re going to need to step up their game big time if they want people to subscribe without it being a bonus.

So just to confirm, if I have HBO (and by extension HBO GO), my login will work for HBO MAX, right?

Yeah that worked for me.

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the mid

Probably — most existing HBO cable subscribers and HBO Now subscribers have it, but you can't use it on Roku or Amazon Fire devices. You can use it with Chromecast and Samsung TVs, along with Apple and Android devices, or on a PC.

Subscribing to HBO Now through Amazon may be an exception.

Psst. Hey buddy.

Got a DC Universe subscription? Eyeballing that shiny new HBO Max service and starting to feel buyer's remorse?

You can kiss that buyer's remorse good-bye, because (for a limited time) DC Universe subscribers can add HBO Max to their monthly subscription for $4.99 per month throughout the rest of 2020!

Don't be surprised when they announce the next seasons of Titans, Harley Quinn, and Young Justice for HBO Max at DC FanDome.

Curious to know if it's worth the $15 a month. I don't get it until next year, so eager to know if it's good enough for me to cough up or not.

Where's my yummy yummy Porgs.

HBO and Roku have finally struck a deal. Max should be available sometime tomorrow.
