A lot of these are curveballs for me. I was seconds away from typing "Gundam-style mechs" when I saw it on the list. Anyway...

  • There does seem to be an undercurrent of No Transhumanism Allowed. Replacement limbs are allowed, "improvement" is bad. In fact, cyborgs in Star Wars kind of suck; all Vader got was respiratory problems and a power cap, and Grievous apparently couldn't be made without glaring weak spots.

  • Techno Dystopia. Because of the scope of most stories, it's pretty rare that we spend a story examining the culture of a single planet, so we haven't seen this kind of plot. It's run of the mill in Trek or Who, but I can't think of any Star Wars stories that use it.

  • Do you count "Fantastic Voyage" Plot as a separate trope from "shrink ray"?
