Can future predictions count as Alternate History?

Say a work makes a prediction about the future. If that prediction has been shown to be wrong or inaccurate, does that work now count as Alternate History. Like how Star Trek: The Original Series predicted a third world war in the nineties. Would that now be considered Alternate History?

Dewey Defeats Truman, currently getting voted in in the Trivia thread on if it should be considered a trope that relies on information external to the work itself.
