How hard do you think it'll be for this to differentiate itself from the rest of the Fox animated comedies?

Wake me up at your own risk.Maybe if more focus is put on the mother-son dynamic, that's a start.
The backseat murderer joke was actually funny to me. I'm willing to give this a shot, let's see where it goes...

Here's an interview with Amy Poehler.
I started watching to distract myself from the ongoing viral crisis. It's not a great show, but it's more than watchable and has its charms and potential—better, I'd say, than Bob's Burgers started(and that's my favorite animated Fox show).

It's alright. Bless the Harts is the better of the two new shows so far, but I'm interested to see where it goes. I get the feeling that the writers are still trying to find their footing with these early episodes.

The show was greenlit for season 2.
So, in retrospect I thought this show was just alright and suffered from the problem with other animated shows of being too late to the punchline on some episodes referencing memes. I like Duncan himself and find him entertaining as a main character. But what I just realized/remembered is that this actually the second animated show co-created by Amy Poehler, the first being The Mighty B!. And in both shows, she voiced the main character!
Season 2 premieres Sunday May 23 with a 2 part episode. New episodes will move to Mondays at 9:30pm starting May 31, directly after a new Fox show premiering that day.

Here's the Comic Con panel.
After three seasons, Duncanville will not be renewed at FOX. However, there are six final episodes that will premiere exclusively on Hulu instead.
The series is averaging a 0.2 in live+7 numbers with 641,000 viewers and around 1.1M multiplatform viewers per episode.
The third season, which premiered in May, recently wrapped up on Fox. However, there are six final episodes that the broadcast network does not plan to air that will exclusively stream on Hulu later this year.
The move comes as Fox prepares for the launch of new animated series including Dan Harmon’s Krapopolis and Jon Hamm-voiced Grimsburg.
Not to surprising it got canceled. I found it charming enough but the show definitely had a hard time find an identity. Even 3 seasons in I couldn't describe the show if I wanted.
Did like the family, though I honestly hated Duncan as a main character and he seems to make everyone less likable just by exposure. Like honestly it's amazing how much I like his friends more whenever they're in a scene without him.

Duncanville is a FOX show set to debut on February 16, 2020. It's created by Amy Poehler (co-creator of The Mighty B!) as well as both Mike Scully and Julie Scully (both from The Simpsons ).
The series centers on the life of Duncan, a spectacularly average 15-year-old boy, his family and friends. Amy Poehler will provide the voice of Duncan and his high-strung mom, Annie, who is constantly trying to prevent her son from ruining his life.
The series also features the voices of Ty Burrell, Riki Lindhome, Betsy Sodaro, Yassir Lester, and Zach Cherry, as well as guest voices Rashida Jones and Wiz Khalifa .
