The slow loading times and pop up in Hitman 3 is making me wonder if I should buy an Xbox One X (when I have the money), but I usually like to wait until they come out with an upgraded version of the console, but I don't know if the Xbox One X is the upgraded version of the Xbox One.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Thinking about getting a Series X, but I'm on the fence. Any good exclusives?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundErrr.......
Watch SymphogearDepends on what you're into. If you like shooters, there's a few to pick from. Gears 4/5 are pretty good in the third-person department, and for first-person Halo is like ol' reliable. You can get the entire series there :o
Forza's the go-to for racing. If you're into the professional circuit, Motorsport is what you're after, and Horizon is if you're more into more arcadey open-world racing.
Killer Instinct had a pretty darn good version come out. A fighting system that keeps you on your toes and all sorts of unique and interesting characters.
Hi-Fi Rush is a recent one and really rockin'. Character action with rhythm elements with a presentation to match.
Pentiment is from Obsidian, and I'd say it's like Obsidian distilled to its purest form. All the multiple paths to a solution and dialogue choices with consequences, and nothing like combat to get in the way.
If you're looking for a throwback, Rare Replay has games from all through the company's history, including Jetpac, the old Killer Instincts, Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Kameo, Viva Piñata, and then some.
If you need any more let me know :)
Yeah, the Xbox One X is the upgraded version of the Xbox One. The One line of Xboxen are last gen at this point, so they should be cheaper now :)

The Xbox portion of the showcase happened. Starfield direct right now, but some the other stuff they announced at the conference that caught my eye—
- A new Fable, apparently involving shrunken people
- South of Midnight, interesting modern magic vibe to it
- Star Wars Outlaws, which will probably fit well with Ubisoft's formula
- 33 Immortals, from the people who made Spiritfarer, a 33-player co-op action RPG
- Persona 3 Reload, shame the leak took out the surprise factor here :p
- Avowed, looks like Obsidian's take on Elder Scrolls
- Monkey Island crossover with Sea of Thieves, thematically appropriate, at least
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with some job simulator now as well. Also, Dune expansion incoming :o
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, naked man warning :p
- Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, looks like a Japanese Mythology-inspired action game
- New Forza Motorsport, I know they announced this before, this is more of a me thing :p
- Persona 5 Tactica, see Persona 3 Reload
- Jusant, from Don't Nod, wonder what the thematic elements here will be
- Still Wakes The Deep, explore abandoned oil rig with horrors
- Dungeons of Hinterberg, day in the life of a dungeon delver
- Metaphor: ReFantazio, a not-Persona game from Atlus. Still feels SMT-inspired at least
- Towerborne, from the people who made The Banner Saga, looks like a cross of Castle Crashers... and Civilization?
- Clockwork Revolution, travel between the past and future versions of a utopia with a dark secret beneath it
Lots of good stuff coming :)

Welp.
Finally caved and bought an Xbox Series X.
There are enough exclusives coming out that I had to get one or be left behind it was worth the purchase.
Eh, none of the exclusives are my taste, and I get all my third party stuff on PS 5 anyhow, as they run better there most of the time.
Watch SymphogearAnd hey, that's totally cool. The nice thing about gaming is that no matter your interests or preferences, there's probably something out there for you :)
Uh... Were there rumors around that there'd be something Banjo-Kazooie related announced? Because I'm seeing on twitter Banjo trending and people lamenting that something wasn't. And I'm just wondering if this is coming from anywhere.
MS owns Rare, Rare owns BK, so logically, if something BK-related is coming, the Xbox show is likely where it would be shown... and some people are hopeful, despite a total lack of evidence; see also, the constant assurances by people that "the Switch Pro will be announced in the next Direct!" (And for those who don't know, no, it hasn't been announced in the literal years that rumor has been going around, and at this point many don't expect it to happen).
I know one L Per/streamer I follow was one of those hopeful ones over a BK reveal of some kind.
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownMicrosoft owns ABK now.
A developer direct happened today. It was a deep dive into four games -
- The Indiana Jones game by MachineGames. Looks like a first-person puzzler and whipper
- Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Ninja Theory's sequel in the action game series
- Avowed, Obsidian's first-person action RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe
- Ara: History Untold, a Civilization-style strategy game by Oxide Games
There was also a short feature on Square Enix's Visions of Mana remake, which looks pretty nice.
Pretty fascinating look :o

Xbox Era: Starfield is going to PS5, major internal debate about making exclusives multiplatform.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."This feels like the inevitability of Microsoft going full third party like Sega, and rely on Game Pass (Probably renamed to Microsoft Game pass with the Xbox Brand scuttled off)
Ever since June of last year with that Phil Spencer interview where he said that Microsoft lost the console wars at the worst time and never will win I felt the writing was on the wall that they'd be 3rd party at some point.
Watch SymphogearThis entire generation so far has felt like Microsoft has been at least side-eyeing the possibility of going third-party. With how expensive AAA development is, being as far behind in hardware sales as they are just isn't a good place to be if they want to recoup costs. The game plan has definitely felt like it's to spread out: turn Xbox into a wider gaming brand and make GamePass available in as many places as they can. Making their exclusives into timed exclusives that will end up on Sony and Nintendo devices after a year feels like the next step to that strategy.
So with all the handheld P Cs that are coming out to play games on after the Switch proved it possible, do you think Microsoft is kicking themselves in the back for not making the Series S their equivalent of a handheld PC. They could have easily kept it digital only and all they would have needed was to give it something to output to the T.V..
Phil Spenser: Xbox business update next week.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."But will it be sponsored by Squarespace or Betterhelp? 🤔
Well, the podcast happened. Major points I picked up are—
- Four formerly exclusive games are coming to other platforms. No word on what they are, but they did say that Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are not among them.
- They're still doing hardware, and will announce more news on that this holiday.
- They want to respect the stuff people's bought in the Xbox ecosystem.
- There will be ten games released this year.
We'll see how this develops :o
So basically, nothing too catastrophic as many expected.
You can't kill art.Just remember that Phil spencer said that Xbox Games would never come to PC, so.....
Watch SymphogearYou probably already saw it in earlier news and announcements, but they formally announced the games going multiplatform. They are—
- Pentiment, coming to PS4, PS5, and Switch tomorrow
- Hi-Fi RUSH, coming to PS5 on March 19
- Grounded, coming PS4, PS5, and Switch on April 16, and will support cross-play on all platforms
- Sea of Thieves, coming to PS5 on April 30, and will support cross-play on all platforms
All these games rule and I'm glad more people are going to get to enjoy them. Pentiment especially, as that feels like Obsidian getting to be peak Obsidian :p
