Also, his death in Return is just perfect.

Their was no need to change it.

I'm more pissed off by the fact that Abrams couldn't even call Palpatine by his real name, Darth Sidious. Even Rian Johnson knew the importance of the Emperor's true identity. Combined with the news from Pablo Hidalgo that, apparently, Abrams wanted to blow up Coruscant with Starkiller Base (and Hosnian Prime was apparently a compromise) and the fact that everything about Starkiller Base came from the Bad Robot company, I'm safe to say that Abrams was in hindsight the worst person to handle the ST. If he couldn't respect anything beyond OT aesthetics, than why should we expect the new villains and heroes to even hold a candle to what came before?

"Anakin died for fucking nothing."

Not really, Anakin died to save his son.

Anakin didn't care about fulfilling a prophecy, he just wanted to save his son.

But Palpatine lived and did manage to make Luke’s life Hell.

It’s pretty sad to think about.

And ruined all the Skywalkers, even driving Vader's grandson to the dark side using Vader's own voice.

There's a reason why people feel the OT's ending was ruined.

The OT's ending of ot was already alruined when they decided to make episode 7 a remake of 4.

At least we can say that Luke managed to live 30 more years, thanks to Anakin.

I was ecstatic but then again, I loved Dark Empire and figured it would somehow tie everything all together.

It will never cease to amaze me how somebody could have the idea of cribbing off Dark Empire and then make a worse version of it (with some Jedi Prince stuff thrown in as well).

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.

As for the Son comparison to Snoke...

While I don't think the Son would work for a movie trilogy, he was an effective enough villain for the medium he appeared in. In the brief time we see him he really gets across how unstable and ultimately self-defeating the Dark Side really is.

[up][up] I can't believe they made Rey into Ken.

It's still hilarious and sad at the same time.

[up] Yeah, that's also part of Kylo Ren's character, in that he's ultimately a child throwing a tantrum only to feel regret and sadness once he realizes what he actually did.

The Son is all gung ho about killing dad and leaving the planet, but once he actually does the deed, he's begging forgiveness and for him to live.

The only Sith Lords truly happy are the ones who on some level are irredeemable monsters like Palpatine or edgy role players in SWTOR. I can personally testify.

What gets me is the loss of the New Republic and New Jedi Order. What little we see of the New Republic in the Mandalorian makes me want so much more, but even if they give that to us, it's always going to have that looming Doomed by Canon over it thanks to Force Awakens.

All of that ruined because of a little dipshit who thought he deserved the entire universe because of his lineage.

If Star Wars had a Hell, Kylo deserves to burn in the lowest level right alongside Sidious.

I still say they should have just depowered Kylo Ren and left him to live as a moisture farmer on Tatooine.

[up] Reminds me that Leia never actually forgave Anakin for his various crimes such as Alderaan and torturing her, and refused to see him as her dad. Something Anakin actually accepted, and still promised to watch over her in the after life.

She had a whole arc of coming to terms with his actions and fall from grace, and named her third son Anakin to remember the man he once was.

And even then Kylo was a worse person than Anakin ever was.

At least Anakin had a legitimate Freudian Excuse, Kylo was a sociopath from day one exactly like Palpatine was in the Darth Plagueis novel.

He was a natural born monster.

Let's forget that Snoke was manipulating him and that he thought his uncle tried to kill him, according to you he was born a monster.

Ron the Death Eater.

It doesn't matter if vader had a freudian excuse, he was a monster and was only saved because of one last good deed.

[up] Maybe if Abrams or Rian showed us what he was like before he went evil. Or at least, have Luke, Leia and Han talk remembering the good things he did like Obi-Wan did when he talked about Anakin in A New Hope.

I don't think the stuff with Snoke/ Palpatine matters.

Kylo's earned enough wrath that no one cares about his excuses anymore.

The Rise of Kylo comic shows that he was a humongous spoiled brat who kept shitting on his old man and namesake while at the same constantly nagging Luke for special treatment.

He was a rich douchebag especially since none of Luke’s other students liked him.

[up]*2. Speak for yourself, in my case Anakin and Ben were just as evil.

"He was a rich douchebag especially since none of Luke’s other students liked him."

The only student who hated him was his rival, the other two seemed to like him.

In fact Kylo liked them enough to let them live, and only killed the first one by accident.

I really feel that ST really didn't earn redemption for Ben since they never explore who Ben was before he was Kylo Ren.

It's as if Abrams and Johnson just expected because he's the son of Leia and Han, we should automatically care for his redemption. Which ironically undermines the whole point of Rey Random again.

Pretty much every Sith carried themselves with some measure of dignity, even Maul at his most insane.

Kylo is just a whining teenager in a man's body.
