...There's stop motion?
I assume the IG-11 droid was stop motion. It didn't look CGI.
Apparently, Disney+ has a lot of issues today. Since I watched it at midnight, there wasn't any, but now that tons of people are trying to watch...
Yeah, that's fair. It's having a lot of trouble going from page to page, too.
I am glad they had provisions in place for if you already had a Hulu subscription, too. Now instead of paying 12.99 for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, I only have to pay 7 flat because they're giving me a 5.99 credit.

I thought Yoda was the only one of his kind?
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. No, there was also Yaddle.
In addition to IG, there's lot of little ones. In particular, when Les Mando is fighting those space-mules-with-teeth, one of them is stop motion (when interacting with him directly) and the other is CGI.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The reviews I’m seeing are average while hoping for improvement, but the USA Today review flat out goes “Yeah, we are holding this to a MUCH higher standard than High School Musical” so make of that what you will.
That seems like a meme in the making.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy....what does that even mean?
It means they (and its fans, to be fair) will hold Star Wars content to an arbitrarily insane standard, so that when it inevitably fails to meet it, they can dunk on it guilt free.
My theory on Star Wars is that it suffers from the dark side of being a Sacred Cow.
To use a metaphor, making Star Wars content-particularly movies and the like-is a bit like adding books to the bible in the eyes of its fandom. You'll be called a heretic and inevitably start a holy war.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"Watched the first ep of the Mandolorian at my bros insistence.
Rather liked it.
Been in a weird place with Star Wars lately, and was thinking of just cutting out of it entirely, but stuff like this keeps me in. Not sure how long, but I liked what I saw.
So Yoda being the last of his kind is for real huh? I wasn't totally sure about that to be honest, so what that kid is and why he's so important will be interesting.
One Strip! One Strip! They made it very clear what they were setting up, the Mandalorian was a bounty hunter, and he was essentially a less altruistic Caine from Kung Fu. “I will help you...for a price.”
But being attached to Star Wars makes people expect an instant classic. Hell, even The Clone Wars, as beloved as it is, took time to find its groove.

That is true. Early Clone Wars was rough.
I mean, did anyone actually like Asohka at first? And now she's pretty beloved if I recall.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, cuz character development.
But yeah, Star Wars has found the bad side of fame, where it has to continually be better every installment otherwise that installment is worthless until people stick with it long enough to see it improve. Just look at The Last Jedi. All it did was mess around with canon some and people are constantly screaming that Star Wars is ruined and how Disney fucked everything up when it's still a great movie even though it has flaws.
I remember when viewers were complaining how bratty and canon breaking Ahsoka was, before now when they're saying how cool she is and so much better than the new characters.
In 10 years we're gonna get introduced to, I don't know, Jaira Heroface and folks will be saying how much cooler Rey is over her.

I really don’t want to be 50 and see Mandalorian: The Legend Continues. You’d think after a certain point they’d...stop.
Even the most negative reviews (which are middling, not out and out negative) point to intrigue and foundations, which is similar to TCW.

Greedo's scene was changed yet again...by George Lucas just before he sold the company.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Petition to hereby refer to Lucas forever as "The Maclunker".
The biggest troll move considering that he edited that before selling the Star Wars brand to Disney, and just waited for 7 years for that little change to be publicly revealed through a Disney Streaming Service.
And by this point, does it really matter now since Han and Greedo shot simultaneously, meaning that Han was going to kill Greedo in cold blood anyways?

Maybe Han was just ready for Greedo to try and kill him since he already had his gun drawn when he sat down.
Anyway, watched the first episode of The Mandalorian. I liked it, IG-11 was definitely a Taika Waititi character xD Kind of reminds me of Korg a bit.
I do wonder, though...why do the Imps want a baby from Yoda's species? Is this related to the sequel trilogy?
Twitter lore sleuths actually dug up a factoid that makes the troll better. Maclunkey has appeared in the franchise before. Sebulba says it to Anakin as a threat in Episode 1. So Lucas edited that scene one last time to reference the prequels.
Apparently, if you analyze the new edited Han vs Greedo scene frame by frame, Han and Greedo fired in the exact same frame but Han's laser is already out while Greedo's laser is just halfway out of the blaster.
So technically, Han shot first in this edition, thus the fandom's wish came true.

I can't figure out how to actually play the episode >.> Or find the Watchlist button.
