Watching the movies on a regular basis forms much of my childhood, so I can't recall the first time I watched any of the original trilogy.
I was unlucky enough to grow up with Jar Jar Binks since Episode I was my first movie.
I remember it as long as I have been alive so I can't pinpoint it.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I saw the "Luke, I am your father" bit parodied in so many cartoons as a kid that I just picked it up on my own once Star Wars: The Clone Wars started playing.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.Eeeeh. It's polarizing. You either hate or you think it's fine because it's fun still but you have to turn off your brain.
I mean it's literally the first Star Wars movie to achieve a rotten score besides TPM which only got that rotten score with the re-release of TPM in 3D. It was fresh at first.
Currently, it's om track to open less than 200m domestically so it's a disappointment for Disney.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."The Lion King remake still made a billion even with a similar RT score, so we'll see how this goes.
Yeah, I have no doubt it'll break the billion, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's the least grossing of the trilogy.
Many of the audience in my screening -including the friends I went with- really seemed to like it, even if I was meh on it, so I think mainstream audience reception will be good.
They are not as invested after all, heheh.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hearing it's kinda garbage but I'm going to see it anyway since my friends want to go. Hoping that it's enjoyably bad.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I had an interesting experience with it. So I watched the OT first when I was really little, but didn't have much memory of it. Then later me and my father were watching the prequels.
So, I knew who darth Vader was because I was used to seeing him as the go 2 bad guy. But his actual Charachter was something I was lost on. I kinda thought Grievous was Vader, like, he would get an updated suit and become him.
So it was a huge shocking plot twist when I found out Anakin was Darth Vader. It was essentially for me what the "I am your father" scene was for a lot of people.
Things are really about to get Fun around hereMan, that feel when you buy a ticket to a highly anticipated movie before the less than positive critical consensus emerges.
I'm not exactly a die-hard fan so much as someone who keeps in touch with trends (though I liked the last 2 movies), so hearing people say that this film does exactly what I've been always most wary of - pandering excessively to fans - is not encouraging. Especially considering the notorious toxic reputation of certain SW fans, I would consider catering to them as if in apology for TLJ to be quite off-putting.
Regardless, I'll see how it turns out.
I consider massively catering to fans in such major ways a sign of weakness.
It shows you lack conviction or...... what's another good word?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Lack of faith. It shows that you don't even believe in your own works. Pandering to the Fanbase too much opens weakness for critics to savage a work.

Copy pasted from the other thread. I think there aren't any spoilers.
Just exited the theater, and goddamn this movie is hard go gauge.
There are a lot of concepts that are actually really decent on paper, but goddamn the movie needs time to breathe.
The critique that JJ is trying to do two movies at once in order to course correct from TLJ is not unwarranted. There's totally is at least two movies worth of content crammed in there.
With better pacing, I feel it could work.
I didn't care for TLJ, so this movie just either twisting its ideas into another direction or just sweeping them under the rug does not bother me.
The actors are really giving their best, and while early on there's some character choices that I find questionable regarding the trio, overall they really begin to find a dynamic by the middle point that makes the ending celebration work.
On the character front, I find the movie to be the step in the right direction that was needed after TLJ just did whatever.
On the other hand, I'm still not exactly happy about how they decide to handle Rey and the legacy in general.
I have to say that in the end I happen to agree with detractors of how Ben's story was ended. The emotional stings they pulled did work, and combined with him being one of the elements I felt worked best in the ST, his ending just feels like a kick to the stomach.
Poe and Finn remain my favorite of the trio, continuing their excellent chemistry and adding some layers to their backstories. The implications with Finn are exciting, but I lament they came so late.
Also, not a fan of how Palpatine is dealt with.
The movie is all over the place. Incredibly flawed, but I think I like it better than TLJ when everything is measured.
Ahaha that's it, that's the word!
I mean seriously it's your job as the creator to provide the content that's what made people fans in the first place.
Fans don't know what they want. It's a terrible idea to listen to them like that.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I just came back from seeing it. It has a lot of flaws, but I still enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't a great movie, but it was a great time, I guess.
There are two moments in which I super cringed, but there were also a few moments where I felt like cheering. And yeah, it did feel like it needed a lot more breathing room — kind of like Age of Ultron in that regard, although AOU did a lot more in terms of characterization and risks.
In ranking the new trilogy, I would go:
- The Last Jedi: A+
- The Force Awakens: B+
- The Rise of Skywalker: B-/C+
I pretty much feel the same. Enjoyable but very flawed. It was really overstuffed and some of the characters and plot threads felt pointless. It's probably my least favorite of the trilogy but I still thought it was satisfying.
All that can be hoped for now is that their next attempt at the movies....... be well better.
Cause just Okay means mediocre & that should never be acceptable.
After all there are only 2 types of movies. Good movies & everything else.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It depends on what the film is pitched as. If it's an anthology film just focusing on some random new characters, then I'm pretty okay with okay. If it's a Big Episode that's The Culmination of Everything, then just being okay feels anticlimactic.
Ah but I never said it needs to be a masterpiece, I said it needs to be at least good.
It's that fine line between a 6 & 7. Like I won't read a 6 level manga I will read a level 7 manga.
Oooooh that's a good way of putting it.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think part of the problem with TROS, however, was that it was trying too hard to be "epic." It needed to scale back sometimes and allow for characters to breathe and develop naturally.

Oh lord.
Wonder how Filoni will salvage this in the future.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
I think I saw the Original Trilogy first in order, I just didn't have good enough memory to process everything that went on the films. By the time I saw Episode I, I was 7 and could adequately remember most of the scenes in the correct order.
