Alright, it might be misused but that's why I want to bring the issue here before working on it.

By the description it seems that the trope is about settings where Earth is not mentioned (it might exists but is never shown), been obviously the trope namer the most representative case; the Star Wars setting which is a whole independent Galaxy or maybe its own universe all together.

However several examples do mention Earth, for example the Marvel Comics example and the Firefly example, in one it says that some of the plots take place in some of Kree-Shi'ar-Skrull galaxies, in the second that Earth That Was is mentioned.

Are these examples incorrect or am I understanding the trope wrong? I was under the impression that the idea was that the entire setting was em... Earthless (?).
