So who wants to talk about the first three episodes?

It's a pity that the Brink only lasted one episode. Of course, he was also complicit in the Woods black site as well as just coming off in general like a Horace Slughorn type person (someone who "collects" up-and-coming talent and then mooches off their fame).

I think Marie's sister is in the Woods too. Because if they gave Compound V to Marie, they probably gave the sister it too. (And this is reinforced by the whole fact we see that Golden Boy and his brother both got Compound V.)

In general with Marie, while she does make some unlikable choices, they make sense from a character perspective. I mean, she doesn't know Golden Boy nor his friends, and she knows that she can't afford to make any missteps. So it's very realistic that she doesn't want any part in solving the mystery of the death of a guy she only met once.

I think I can never look at flashlights the same way again.

Honestly, I'm sad that we won't see Golden Boy again after the first episode but at least we can see them again posthumously. Also, I kind of knew that Marie would use period blood as part of her powers but I wasn't expecting this to be how she first discovers her power and how she lost her parents.

No, I think labelling periods "gross" is insulting.

And acting like "oh no men might find it gross"...WGAF?

Any man who would find it gross would also be immature. Not sure why we would need to protect these hypothetical men's delicate sensibilities.

That would make sense.

And I wasn't trying to insult you personally or anything like that, just so you know.

What are the odds that The Boys and/or the Godolkin University thing will get anything in the ballpark of something that even vaguely resembles a happy ending if you squint really hard? Or is it just going to stumble along like a zombie with Homelander raking in win after win after win until the series doesn't get renewed?

While I have no doubt that it will end very differently from the comics:

Hughie and Starlight have a decent chance.

Butcher is too broken a human being to survive his own revenge/evil. His best option is to try to save his wife's son somehow from becoming another Homelander and actually avoid becoming one himself.

Generation V is too early to tell. The question is really whether Marie will be broken to become a monster like the other Supes or escape before the fame gets her.

Butcher probably goes out in a showdown with Homelander.

I'm betting there's at least a chance the show's gonna end with Homelander making good on his promise to just destroy the country with Ryan if/when he feels pushed to that extreme, proving that he really, truly can do whatever. The fuck. He wants, at least in the eyes of his cult-like supporters.

In stories with omnipotent beings that could end the world whenever they feel like it, they usually put a persuasion on the character to not do it so the story can actually happen. Think about it: Dr. Manhattan could vanish the world with a thought but he doesn't do it. Why? Besides not seeing the practicality of it, he'd have to create a whole new planet to get girlfriends that he can be super toxic with.

Homelander's the same way. He could end the world...but he won't because he'd lose the thing he loves most, which is the adoration of his fanbase. (Plus, he'd have no way to satisfy his milk fetish.)

Homelander also wouldn't know what to do with the world once he took over like with the company.

He doesn't know how to delegate.

You think Homelander could ever deal with all the things he'd be left having to deal with? Paperwork? Plots against him? No.

Especially not when he's also clearly realized that physically, he's not infallible. Three Supes (two of whom were on Temp V) could pin him down, and Maeve could make him bleed.
