I love how Hopes gave us Hubert acting like a big brother to Lysithea.
I swear he is me whenever I have to babysit. It’s very difficult to get stupid kids to eat their vegetables.
I’m still amazed at how his tricks. Hiding vegetables in Lysithea’s food is genius.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I believe he also tries looking out for Bernadetta similarly.
Gotta love the "Somebody's gotta look out for them. Too bad it's gotta be me." Vibe.
Bleye knows Sabers.Guy validates himself by being a caretaker. Whether it's getting someone to eat their veggies or helping them conquer a continent.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHuh. Yeah I guess you could interpret him as being a big brother to Edelgard too.
Bleye knows Sabers.Jeritza's kind of a more violent surrogate brother to Edelgard too. He can't be there for Mercedes, but he can be there for Edelgard.

Disgusted, but not surprisedHubert is just a caring guy despite himself.
I love his interactions with Hapi. Very wholesome.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Oh absolutely. He's like, the ideal goth.
I think Jeritza lconsiders himself less like Edelgard's big brother and more like her attack dog.
Bleye knows Sabers.I mean, he did kill to protect his sister Mercedes. It was his first kill even.
It probably gave him the idea that being a good brother means killing anyone threatening his sibling or in his sibling's way.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWell, Jeritza is very grateful towards Edelgard for giving him combatants to focus his killer urge, so he doesn’t kill civilians in Hopes.
And he’s got quite a lot of agency in his dynamic with her, and dislikes nobles as much as her.
Edelgard is very much a benevolent boss towards him.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I was going to say that the Death Knight persona is probably grateful to Edelgard as well for looking the other way when he kills civilians (or at least the poor people of Abyss), but I'm not sure said persona is even capable of gratitude.
I think I said it before, but I find the Death Knight in his first appearance to be a scarier enemy than the Black Knight from the Tellius games. Funnily enough, the reason I think so is because the Black Knight being unkillable means he's just an obstacle for you to avoid, while the Death Knight being beatable and having some sort of reward for doing so means that you can try and take him on, but you'll have to deal with his disgusting crit rate.

The best thing about Hopes was that it gave non-BE players a chance to reunite Mercedes and Emile
Heart of StoneThe main difference I'm noticing between normal and hard mode is that hard mode is a constant losing battle for funding.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Yep. Also, a good chunk of the game's bosses move in Hard compared to Normal, so watch out for that.
I always played causal and abused the save bonuses, so i never had to worry about money. How bad is it in hard?
Love ruins all.Even on Maddening money isn't an issue. The only time I can think you'd might run into money problems is if you're trying to recruit all students via gift spam. But if you're smart about meals and who you need fast, then that's easy to work around.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. The first 4ish chapters are usually the only ones with any serious money issues. With efficient leveling, everyone physical is gonna want bow sidearms, the leading carries (probably Byleth and Lord) need Beginner Seals, and Byleth's gonna want a better melee weapon to get away from swords ASAP. Then somewhat same-ish seal problem with having Intermediate(s) going into either DK1 or Miklan. After that, the team can kinda just coast.
FE: New Mystery Fresh Cart Lunatic 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiBut the beginning is when you get a salary and weapons aren't so expensive, and I'm pretty sure there's more bullion floating around. Now I'm selling everything just to repair weapons. I thunk the next time I play I'll make Byleth focus on magic so she isn't eating all the swords.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Wait, your money problems are in the middle? What are you spending so much on repairing? Silver+? Iron+ on most units should be carrying 80% of the play through, and those are dirt cheap to repair when group tasks should be coughing up 1k gold (plus Smithing Stones!) per week, and any aux battles will throw 5-10k gold at you just for winning.
Like, my last Banes Only run built ten Killer Bow+s in the mid-game and it didn't even come close to running out of money.
Early game is expensive when played optimally because the game's cash is balanced around drip feeding characters with sub-optimal setups. Basically, if you know what you're doing, characters are hitting thresholds twice as fast as expected, plus equipping themselves with a small armoury of Training/Iron Bows.
I would advise against magic Byleth. Their spell pool is pretty unremarkable.
FE: New Mystery Fresh Cart Lunatic 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiI mean, Byleth is a competent Magic Knight. Better than most options imo
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindEh, compared to Robin, they're pretty lacklustre.
FE: New Mystery Fresh Cart Lunatic 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiRobin's one of the few cases in this entire series where a magic knight is good.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Wasn't Robin the first Magic Knight in the franchise playable in the west? I can't remember if Radiance had them or if Shadow Dragon added them.
Bleye knows Sabers. If you're talking specifically tomes and a physical weapon, yes. There were a fair few magic swords around before then, as well as PoR's Flame Lance and Bolt Axe, though.
FE: New Mystery Fresh Cart Lunatic 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiPath of Radiance on promotion let magic users choose between using staffs or knifes as their secondary weapon. It didn't really come up because knifes were not that good in that game, there wasn't a character that could really benefit from being able to hit def or magic-def and staffs were in general a much better choice as a secondary.

Hubert, who has decided to eat the cake in the most secluded corner of Garreg Mach inside a veil of darkness behind a locked door so nobody would see him: "..."
Bleye knows Sabers.
