Is that true? To my knowledge you only need two Lord Souls to get into Leyndell and thus complete the game, and there is no change depending on whether you complete any of the endings with the minimum number of Souls compared to if you have all of them.
noisivelet naht nuf erom era srorrimThat's why I said gameplay-wise you really don't need all of them to complete the game.
But if we're going by story you should be gathering all of the Great Runes.

Disgusted, but not surprisedFrom what I understand you don't need more then two in story either, the idea is that while you can fix it, it will never be as whole as before.
It has been noted that the Elden Ring symbol is a combination of all the Great Runes, but you would only need three of them to create the core shape of the three overlayed rings.
So the two Runes you need to enter Leyndell + Morgotts are all a Tarnished would need to recreate at least a rudimentary form of the Elden Ring.
7 hours into a new playthrough and my Pyro Knight has 2 +15 Weapons, Flaming Strike, and I haven't even entered Stormveil or finished Weeping Peninsula.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Now thats just good marketing, after all Elden Ring players always post messages about wanting to "try but hole".

Funny thin, I am not playing soulslike games because of my pathetic reflexes, but I like reading their lore very much (because I adore dark fantasy with Lovecraftian themes) - and This Very Wiki was very helpful in it.
Dominion of Darkness, simulator of the Dark Overlord: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/DominionOfDarkness@M84 Also, if Miquella was there, the Haligtree wouldn't be a threat at all. It's a Hidden Elf Village for Albonourics and other unwanted freaks (I hate Misbegotten but I do pity them). Just more evidence that he's that missing piece that makes the world so hellish.
Find the Light in the DarkNeed something to put on the mantle of your fireplace that isn't a TV? Well Bamco has you covered with Malenia's arm!
So I'm look8ng at a 49 dollar copy of Elden Ring for PS 5.
I beat Demon's Souls, gave up on Dark Souls, and haven't played a From Game since Bloodborne.
Is this game rage inducing or is the lore really compact and interesting? Is there a Guide Dang It! feel to the gameplay?
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).It's definitely the most approachable of their games. While it can still be very difficult, if you run into a wall, you can use the open world to just go somewhere else and potentially find something useful, and the game is pretty good about providing a a lot of tools that help give you more of an advantage.
There's just a general smoothing out of their series' system mechanics, from stuff like finally adding a jump button, using a posture system as an alternative to the high risk/high reward parries of previous titles, stats are comprehendible and do what they say (so nothing like DS1's Resistance or DS2's Adaptability), durability is gone and weapon skills are their own whole mechanic, etc.
Sidequests can still be very obtuse, as usual, and have various steps that can be skipped, but the actual fail-state for most of them is quite deep in the game.
And I'd say the core lore is fairly understandable. It's not as compact as Sekiro, but it's used well to build the setting. Of course, diving into the details can get into the typical FromSoft weirdness where it feels like you're never really intended to have the full picture.
Hmmm. Well if this is where they've really given attention to Player's QOL I can give it a shot next pay period.
I liked Demon Souls but it took me from when that game came out to about 2 years before the remake came out to actually sit down and finish it.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).It being open world does take some of the edge off. You also get a mount near the start of the game — assuming you don't go wildly off course — and he really helps.
Disgusted, but not surprised
The Haligtree also isn't really a threat anymore by the time of the game. It's a dying hulk of rotted wood due to Miquella being torn away from it.
The only real justification for invading it is to claim Malenia's Great Rune. While gameplay wise it's optional, lore-wise you supposedly need all of the Great Runes to fully restore the Elden Ring.
