"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."just checked out the first episode of If It's For My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat the Demon Lord, this is gonna be my sugar dose of the season
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistIt kinda gets Usagi Dropped later on from what I've heard?
Secret SignatureIf It's For My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat the Demon Lord - This one tricked me into thinking it was an Isekai, what with that name. It answers a fundamental question: "What if Lightning and Sweetness, but Fantasy?" Thankfully, it does so pretty well. The first episode feels a bit overly concerned with sussing out the details of how the protagonist ends up adopting the child, but it present all of that well and at a good pacing, so it works. And the show does a really good job of making the kid really cute. The only thing that kinda bothered me was that the colors are a bit too pale for a show like this, but really, if that's what I can find to criticize, then this is doing it's job. In the end, at least at this start, it's a nice, sweet little show about a guy adopting a kid he found in the woods. I hear it might get a bit more serious later, but there's no indication of that at this start, at least. I'd recommend it for people looking for a weekly bit of cuteness.
Poor Maou-Sama Retry. It's best angle was the gruff guy looking after the cute girl, and not one day after there's a show that's doing it better.
Oooh, boy. If that's the case then this show might feel a bit more sketchy than at first.

hopefully the anime stops before it gets to that point
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistYes, yes fair warning to all who chooses to watch the demon moe-blob daughter anime the father does indeed bang & marry his adopted daughter after a time-skip where she grows up into a woman who's went through puberty.
And I don't think it happens that far in, maybe somewhat early like at volume 6.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."We can always hope the anime won't adapt that specific bit, or that it'll do it differently to avoid backlash.
Geez, what's with these anime and manga that start out cute and turn into... that?
Maybe its cause we all have an innate desire to be a hillbilly but we just never go through with it & instead half-ass it.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The authors have an Electra Complex ?
Secret SignatureBecause real life morals are...boring for them mangaka.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Its the obsession with purity taken to its logical extremes.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I did spend some time thinking about why authors go for that route after I heard about it happening in Usagi Drop and some other work that I've blessedly forgotten all about. I came to the conclusion that what you're stating is likely the right answer. They just get to a point where they have two characters of opposing sex in a work that's focused on that relationship and they've covered the aspect that they initially wanted to focus on in the work. So when the question of where to go next arises, they just default to what's the most common route in all media, as it's both an "obvious" place to go next and an easy source for drama.
I came to this conclusion since the works I was thinking about didn't seem like they started with the intent to go in this direction, rather it felt like the work took that turn just to have somewhere to go. You'd figure there would be signs from the get go otherwise. Usually you can tell if the show is somehow skeevy even before the skeevy thing happens just from the general tone. Shield Hero was a good recent example of this. Sure, these Kid and Parent works tend to somewhat fetishize the purity and guardianship aspects of the relationship, but that's not in the sexual sense, but rather to touch on the nurturing instincts of the viewer.

My understanding is that while this show has a similar ending to Usagi Drop it's handled better and is less creepy because of it. At least, that's what people who've read the source material say.
From what I'm getting at its just much more mushy & cheesy about it, constantly going "awwww aren't they so adorable?"
Plus they prolly just got used to it since it didn't happen right at the end of the series.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."My Demon Daughter Episode 1:
I think that I broke my face watching this.
It seriously shouldn't be smiling this much for this extended amount of time afterwards.
Honestly, this is going to be the anti-depressant of the season from what I've seen so far. Cute, adorable, down-to-earth and outright lovable (like a cup of black coffee in the morning.)
Exactly what was needed to start the morning with on a work-day.
The establishing of the premise was just fine and not even once, I stopped to find anything to be bothered about during it, too occupied with smiling over the main characters.
Will follow this one for certain.

Oh boy, another controversial anime eh...I'll take it
Anyways, once I watch the first episode of If It's My Daughter, I'll create a thread for it soon enough.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Personally I blame Murasaki Shikibu.
Mostly because Genji pulled that exact stunt.
"O Maidens in Your Savage Season" Episode 1:
I can't believe how much that I fell in love with this after just the first episode. It strikes so close to home that I couldn't stop watching it despite the openness of the topic it runs on.
The art-style is good, the characters are refreshing in more ways than one, and it brings up a topic that you don't see much being taken absolutely seriously in anime as I can tell.
Insta-following this.
Now on to Dr.Stone...

"Wasteful Lives of Highschool Girls" Episode 1: No. No. No...I did my best but could only endure up to the halfway point of the episode. The MC just...rubbed me the wrong way.
Not even going to finish the episode.
Not for me.

Lots of shows for today. I'm going to make folders for this one because it got really long.
It's kinda funny for me, watching the first episode and knowing where certain things are going right out of the gate. It's not an experience I get a lot, since I mostly watch anime first and read manga second. Anyhow, I'd strongly recommend this one. It won't be for everyone, but it's worth a try nonetheless.
Gods, I hate doing this many shows in one post. Feels like I can't give each one the proper attention I'd like to give them. Oh well. At least these were mostly good ones.

Also, I can't help but mention this, but the backstory for Granbelm has one of the most selfish deeds I've seen in a while. So a long time ago, people started using magic for war, and destroyed shit with it. So these seven sages who had more power than anyone else went and sealed all magic in the world, rendering everyone incapable of using it, because they believed people were using it wrong. What a bunch of pricks! That's the ultimate "If we don't play how I want, then we don't play at all" deal. Imagine all the non-war things these assholes destroyed or screwed up just because they couldn't take the existence of violence! Normally for these scenarios magic just sort of goes away or something, but in this show these guys just got up and decided one day that if people couldn't play nice, then no one would get access to magic. Selfish little fuckers, these guys. Geez...
I'm surprised that the Fire Force dub is already made/out.
Any other shows doing the Simuldubs?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Eh, I could see the logic in that depending on how fucked up the wars were getting.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash.
Golden Wind only has like three more episodes and one of them is airing tomorrow with the final two airing as an hour long special three weeks from now so there's not much to continue.
Also it turns out Crunchyroll doesn't have Asta so the chances of me watching it just got lower. They do have the new Fate spinoff, Fire Force, and Dr. stone though, all of which I'm looking forward to.
