First Response - Leaving the cargo bay

Nari stopped, her ears turning towards Geneva as she taunted the nisi. Nari then turned to face them with a glare. "Coward human talk down Nari like that again, Nari tear stupid hair out of human's head" Nari threatened, with fangs bared and ears pinned back in anger. "Nari show coward human in any challenge that Nari is not weak" the nisi added, following the group in seeming intent to join this game out of spite.

"And why two people say game has different rules?" Nari asked, motioning to Hap and Sky. "So which is? Even speaking of same game?" the nisi went on.

"Hey now, lady - we're all pals here. Relax!" Hap said to the angry nisi. "Two versions because one has alcohol as the punishment and the other doesn't. Don't think anyone brought booze so I guess we'll just have to do without. Hold up three fingers and put one down if you've done this if you're playing." Hap said, holding up three of his own fingers.

First Response - Leaving the cargo bay

Nari rolled her eyes in annoyance with Hap, but then held up her hand, with her index finger and thumb held up. "You in this job but never been shot? You new?" Nari asked, folding in her index finger as she understood that would indicate she has, in fact, been shot. "What happen when out of fingers?" the nisi then added.

Sky put one of his fingers down.

"No, no, it's when it's untrue that people put their fingers down," Sky said patiently. "I have no idea why it's like that. Also, I think you become the next 'it' when you're out of fingers."

"Is that right?" he asked the group, quirking an eyebrow.

Nari growled and pinned her ears back again. "Two different rules! Which is!?" Nari said in an annoyed tone.

"Hey never said I haven't been shot at. But I've just been lucky enough to have never been hit yet." Hap said with a cheeky grin. Then he saw there was still some confusion about the rules. He patiently sighed but explained again.

"If you've done the action, you put your finger down. So if you have been shot, put a finger down. Who wants to ask the next question?"

Kimberly groaned at Hap's "question". In this line of work, getting fired at is just part of the job. No need to bring that up, so she did not even raise her hand. That, and a grumpy cat that lacks simple patience, apparently. Fine then, if it comes to her to make things interesting, then so be it.

"I'll bite," she stated. "Never have I ever followed through with the threat of tearing somebody's tongue out of their mouth."

Sky reluctantly put another finger down.

"I even did it with my own teeth..." he mumbled shamefully.

"Sounds like your dirty talk needs a little work. When a girl says she wants you to tear her apart, that's not what she means." Hap joked, keeping his own fingers up on account of him not being a psycho.

Nari thought for a few moments. "... Tongue particular? Then no" Nari said, keeping her thumb up. "If 'it' is turns, then still don't have answer as to when out of fingers" the nisi then pointed out.

"...I do not understand why one would purposely use alcohol during a game to dull ones senses," RAY said quietly. At least the group had decided that those rules wouldn't mesh well with their mission later on. After putting down one finger for being shot, one of the other new crew members brought up ripping someone's tongue out of their mouth. The fact that Sky actually put a finger down was even more disturbing. For a moment, RAY physically shuddered. "That is...disgusting. There are cleaner ways to threaten and kill." She kept the rest of her fingers up.

"What was even more disgusting was that those pirates ripped Arch's wings right off his back and broke every other limb on his body!" snarled Sky, for a moment looking downright murderous as he recalled finding out about that, baring his teeth. He quickly composed himself.

"Ahem. Arch's dead. Sorry. Moving on. Sore subject," he said tersely and monotonously.

"Never have I ever...been caught in a spiral-serpent-storm. Hurricane, if you prefer," Sky said, more calmly.

"Outside or inside?" Geneva had decided to sit back and not comment, and not play with fingers either. Like a true captain of industry she had her vape in one hand and a flask of whiskey in the other. "Y'all are bad at this, and like..." She made a show of giving Nari a once-over. "If that gets my hair pulled by the amazon over there I think we're both winners here."

First Response - Leaving the cargo bay

Tama had initially put a finger down at 'getting shot' only for Hap to clarify he'd meant getting hit by a shot, causing him to lift his finger back up.

At 'tear someone's tongue out' he merely gave a bemused smile.

"I'd vote inside, if we're gonna drink." He flicked over to Kimberly for a second. "Also, the game works better if you pick stuff that isn't weirdly specific. Like, 'never have I ever fought pirates' is more likely to get someone than 'never have I ever filled a taxidermy weasel with kerosene and potassium chloride.'"

Nari glanced at Geneva with narrowed eyes, as if clearly wondering whether or not to be insulted. "What, word... 'Ahmahzon'? Not translated" Nari asked with mild suspicion. After a brief pause, nari then added towards Sky as an afterthought, "never been in hurricane."

"I rode a ship in one, and the translation didn't work because it's a proper noun." Geneva explained. "They were you, from an old story back on earth. Super hot warrior women, you know, that whole schtick."

Nari still looked a bit suspicious of this, but her expression eased up a bit. "Attractive women warriors? So, is compliment?" Nari asked, then looked to Tama and the other humans in the group to add, "this true? Then what happen to them? Why they not rule humans now?"

"And the game also works better if you pick stuff that is not overly broad either," Kimberly retorted. "Pirate-fighting is just an occupational hazard. If you're a merc and have not fought one of them, then you're either a newbie or are terrible at this job." Her voice had somewhat obvious scorn in it, partially to stave off the thought of tearing out the Hoovoid's tongue for real. Instead, Hap would only get an angry glare along with a show of a clenched fist.

"And the reason why these Amazons do not rule over us is because they don't bloody exist. They're a myth. The general idea of women of war stuck around though," she added. "Also, the hurricane thing? Had to make a few close passes during a job, but didn't actually get sucked in."

"Yes, it was a compliment, and pretty solid proof the Amazons weren't aliens or something—if they were even just a thousand Nisi expats at the time they prolly could've rolled over the humans." Geneva winked at Nari. "I don't think we'd mind though."

"That's a wink! Means he's being cheeky or he's interested in you. Maybe a bit of both. I'd demonstrate but us Hoovoids never have managed to get the hang of winking." Hap said jovially.

First Response

The crew would eventually feel a jerk and a familiar feeling of nausea as the ship exited Hyperslide, Sarah's voice would come over, "Hello everyone. I am pleased to report we have entered the Trillax System and are heading towards the 5th planet from the sun where the Colony is. Please put on some appropriate attire and would all listed personnel please head to the hangar bay for the shuttles, thank you!"

Sergei stepped out of his quarters, wearing what looked to be a visually modified Alliance Officer uniform, he grunts as he pulls the cap on, "Sarah we're a mercenary company, is this outfit truly necessary?"

Sarah's avatar appeared, "Of course, first impressions are needed and the bigwigs down there don't take too kindly to the standard armor, ya gotta look friendly."

Sergei grunted again, "I'm a Drop Trooper, friendly is not in the job description."

Sarah put a pondering look, "Well, do you want to intimidate them?"

"A little, this is a security gig, intimidation is the first line of defense and prevents the need for actual harm."

Sarah grinned, "I think I may have something," she said before vanishing one last time.

"Ai'ght," Sky yawned. "Good game, everyone, good game..."

He went off to change his clothes, only to find to his chagrin that exactly none of the uniforms were modified to fit his extra appendages. Therefore, he kept his Aellan-friendly "cultural uniform" and tried to put one of the hats on—(accidentally) backwards, no less—to no avail because of his horns.

At last, he gave up with the darn uniform. He should have done it in the first place.

After trying, fruitlessly, to zip up a flight jacket always meant to be fashionably undid, Geneva conceded to the uniform, and even that was a trial. She did, however, still bring her own gear on top of the pansy shit her bosses insisted on—the vape, her drill, and her silence projector sat on her waist, though the grenades she left in her bunk, she could live with that.

Geneva again hung to the back of the hangar for departure, just in case something went wrong.
