YU-NO (Anime thread)

Alright, I've been meaning on making this thread as I've watched the first episode and for those who don't know YU-NO, here's the synopsis from MAL:

"Takuya Arima is a young student whose father, a historian who has conducted various researches, disappeared recently. During a summer vacation Takuya receives a peculiar package from his missing father, along with a letter containing information about the existence of various parallel worlds. At first Takuya doesn't take it seriously, but soon he realizes that he possesses a device that allows him to travel to alternate dimensions. Is his father alive, after all? If so, where is he?"

From the research, this is based on the Visual Novel of the 90s and is revealed that it has influenced a LOT of Visual Novel such as Steins;Gate. This is one of the reason why I'm truly interested with the anime and give it a watch. It also has a page too btw. But yeah, I would agree that the VN also suffers a bit of a Seinfeld Is Unfunny trope but idc.

Anyways, I watched the first episode of the show and it's rather okay I guess albeit rather confusing and sometimes predictable. But hopefully it will become good at a later future. So anyone wants to follow this show or not?

It was pretty interesting, but I find pretty annoying that either elf or Lucina is main heroine. It's pretty rare get harem with this many mature heroines after all.

Lucina... Oh! You mean that Kanna girl... Yea, she looks almost like Lucina.

Episode 2:

That Mio girl seems dedicated with Takuya's dad research and the mysterious rock like structure. And Kanna girl is a bit mysterious (What's her deal with putting a flower on the rock that is more than 8.000 years old) and then there's also a theory about 400 years cycle. Also, Takuya tries at his best to save Ayumi from the thugs but failed miserably. Man those thugs are just that OP and that ending though LOL.

Episode 3:

Feel bad for Ayumi in this episode though as she had to endure the harsh people from the town and the press in general due to the nefarious deeds Geotech had done. In the meantime, the old man Ryuuzouji is going bonkers because why not? And that Toyotomi guy feels entertaining and some conversation with the scientist teacher regarding the outfit she wears and then there's a joke between Ayumi and Takuya regarding Elizabeth Taylor when asked about who's the girl she likes... Lol

Episode 4:

Now this episode culminates Ayumi as the true Woobie. And fuck you Toyotomi! Meanwhile, that creepy guy that is not Toyotomi is watching what Ryuuzouji tries to do and Mio will be moved to other school much to her disappointment. Also, what's with that reporter girl though

Episode 5:

Ouch... Takuya tries at his best to save Ayumi who ended up died in other universe thanks to Toyotomi. But fortunately however, Takuya managed to do it in the last minute and glad that the Toyotomi bastard got what he fucking deserve either getting punched or getting hit by a pot but even then, Takuya need to do his best to prove Ayumi's innocence. But even then, I heard that this is a nice closure for Ayumi's arc which is alright.

Episode 6:

And for this current episode: Both Takuya and Kaori infiltrates the Geotech Industries and was revealed that Geotech is researching about something regarding the stone on the beach. Only to be revealed that Kaori unsurprisingly betray Takuya and working with frigging Toyotomi. Though glad it got fixed and both of them got what they deserve haha... But man, it sucks that Takuya will experience the series of events all over again due to "Chaos Correction" but I think it's a rather different path I guess. Also, dem some interesting jokes like the boner joke lel

Episode 7:

So many expositions but most importantly, this episode is about the conversation with the M Cs and Ryuuzouji. Wow, there are several things that keep me interested and wanted to question the series such as Niarb, the power that Ryuuzouji used to stop Takuya, the Tapestry picture, Takuya's real mom, why Ryuuzouji acts that way or the thing about the swallow or something that Ryuuzouji's mom said.

Episode 8:

The episode focuses on Mio's arc. She's a tsundere but she's also smart and seems she rejects her daddy's offer to go to the new school. Dem, that confession which made Takuya's friend feel sad in the nursing room and more info regarding Niarb and Mt. Sankaku. And yeah, the ending when Mio's father is stripped as a mayor due to corruption RIP

Episode 9:

Still though, Poor Mio as her reputation is tarnished and it was soon revealed to be none other than Yuki who did it because of the jealousy factor...Why am I not surprised. In the same episode, Takuya and co. are now traveling inside Mt. Sankaku to find Mio which holds a big secrets

Episode 10:

Takuya's friend died when trying to search Mio? Okay then. However, Takuya tries at his best to use the Reflector Machine to save Takuya. But in the second parallel world? He got betrayed by Mitsuki or something (But that's understandable because she was controlled by Niarb) because Takuya had the Reflector machine and some interesting things regarding the 400 years theory. Also, finally Takuya met with Mio in the underground lake full of Shining Rocks and the ending is Takuya meeting with an illusion of his mom I guess?

Episode 11:

Both Takuya and Mio found something interesting in Mt. Sankaku: A device that can generate thunderstorms which answers the picture that Takuya, Mio and Yuki found in Ryuuzouji's mansion. And Mitsuki attempts to murder them both because she was brainwashed by Ryuuzouji but yeah, I feel really sad for her death. And seems that Takuya experienced a Chaos Correction again.

Episode 12:

Time to focus on Eriko sensei route and yeah, she's hot in her disguise dress and badass as hell like a ninja. However, this episode is also about Takuya tried to investigate more about the curse and Ryuuzouji and make no mistake that Ryuuzouji is pretty dangerous. And yeah, RIP Ryuuzouji's mom who knows about the mystery on him and the girl who got brainwashed by Niarb. Speaking of Niarb...Seems that Takuya got a bit of a headache after using reflectors frequently.

Episode 13:

The truth is revealed. Ryuuzouji is actually controlled by an evil interdimensional entity and said entity came from an experimentation performed by Abel while said entity bodyjacks Abel and replace his body with Ryuuzouji while maiming his body without a torso and he's the guy who started the curse to begin with. And damn! Poor Mitsuki. No matter what parallel world she inhabits, she will be on Ryuuzouji's side because she was controlled by Niarb and died and no one can't correct it as it is fate. And yeah, Takuya got a Chaos Correction again and seems the toll has taken for him. Next episode will focuses on Mio's route.

Episode 14:

And now... We're on Kanna's route. To be honest, the episode feels kind of meh. But Kanna herself is rather mysterious as a character. I wonder if she's actually revealed to be Takuya's mom. That would be a twist.

I wonder if the anime will have a canon love interest.

Episode 15:

Its a beach episode. Nothing more nothing less. Though the ending is intense as Kanna faints

Well, luckily, Kanna is alright at the end. Some interesting theories regarding 400 years intervals and then there's also a creep who still sights his eye towards Kanna and was revealed that said creep works for Ryuuzouji and got brainwashed by Niarb. However, in the end...Kanna got moved into another school due to the accusation of her being a prostitute. Poor her :(

Episode 17:

Some backstory for Kanna and damn...Poor her. Fuck the stalker dude though but we now learn about the information of the new dimension where Takuya's father resides called Dela Grande and Takuya plans to go there to help Kanna

Episode 18:

Aaaaaaaaaaand the show shift itself into becoming an isekai due to the majority of second half takes place in Dela Grande. First day for Takuya in there and having a little bit a hard time to adapt. Though he met with two elf chicks: Sayless and Alia, the former is a mute priest and the latter is a guardian of the border. Alia got inflicted by an unknown sickness despite her duty on guarding the border and she dies at the end... RIP. Though in the end, Takuya managed to communicate with Sayless via telephaty. And man those people in the empire feel scummy af

Episode 19:

1 years and 6 months had passed and Takuya and Sayless had a child named Yuno. Man, she grew up so fast. And the two of them adopt a baby dragon from the dying mother and yes, the people from Imperial City are truly suspicious and show their true colors until the end...That was intense tho

Episode 20:

I just wanna say: ******************* The Soliders in the capital! They made my blood boil and RIP Sayless who killed herself and as a result, Takuya and her child went into the capital to punch that SOB of an emperor except he got betrayed, Yuno got kidnapped and he was enslaved in the mines. Poor him, I hope he teach those soldiers and emperor a lesson

Episode 21:

Yeah, still, poor Takuya though. Although I supposed to hate the Warden, I actually can't take him seriously. That *nus inspection though...Made me cracked up . And yeah, it's hard to escape the quarry and damn that Emperor is doing some shady things towards Yu-No and the priestess thing is revealed to be a lie? Alright then, I want this SOB to be punched ASAP

Episode 22:

Yay! Finally Takuya and the rest of the imprisoned slaves manage to escape the tower. But it's sad to see Kunkun died even after helping Takuya and his new friend, Amanda. RIP Kunkun, you will be missed :'(
