Well that would have been cool. But *sigh* Somehow, Palpatine returned
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I was hoping for Knights of Ren to come back, some join him and others turn against when they see how he killed Snoke
Also Storm Trooper civil war
New theme music also a boxI was really hoping for a First Order Enemy Civil War plot. Didn't get it, tho.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It's weird. Finn launching a stormtrooper rebellion pretty much writes itself but they don't go for it.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Same. It’s weird how in Rise there’s basically only one scene of him as Supreme Leader actually directing the First Order’s campaign and for the rest he’s just the Terminator.
It explains the feeling people had after ROS.
Wake me up at your own risk.I wanted to see Kylo go all Zork at least once
Btw any news on some of the projects. The Taika Waititi or rian Johnson stuff. Doesn't seem to have come up with any new news.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Just Squadrons coming up this week. On a plot level, we've got a plot which will include some known Expanded universe characters: Rae Sloane (for the first time outside comics/books), Hera Syndulla, I think Shriv from Battlefront is in there, etc...
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Oh I was talking about the films.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Ah, then nothing. They're keeping everything pretty close to the chest rn, with them relying on Les Mandeux for a while and otherwise just trickling information about the High Republic books.
I wonder if, if not for COVID, we would've had a lot more info by now.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. After watching the new Mulan, I just realized how Rey is just another example of the trend of Disney’s kind of faux-empowerment writing with female characters.
A very understated personality so no obvious flaws & being an instant Asskicker with a primary motivation around the lengths of “find yourself.”
Like when I was watching Mulan, I couldn’t help but think of Rey & see the similarities between the 2.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So boring but powerful.

To be fair, that description applies to many male heroes.

And they’re often called boring as well. “Conflict is the soul of drama”.
No one wants heroes who never lose. We want to see our heroes knocked down or experience enyine hardships so they can get back up and kick evils ass.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Also Rey is not really invincible.
In the last movie Kylo was just playing with her and she only beat Palpatine because the fool electrocuted himself.
On her own, Rey is just a very lucky Padawan.

She more suffers from the whole white-corporate approved feminism, renders her really really whitebread.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."As a mixed race person, I am surprised that you give so much importance to being white.
Oh race certainly affects what characters get favorable or diminishing treatment. Finn’s portrayal across three films is proof of that. :/
Yep reduced to comedic relief sidekick pinning for the white girl who just likes the bad boy more.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."People Complain about Rey defeating Kylo in Awakens.
Is it because She's more powerful, not really Kylo has been gut shotted and is clearly toying with her and only is caught off guard by the Let the force in moment. 'but thats the issue Last latched onto the Kylo's a loser mentality and then everybody doubled down...
When you look at the climatic Saber duels very rarely is it a Good guy defeats badguy and the story is over.
Vader vs Obi 2 = Obi Sacrifices himself so the others will escape without.
Vader vs Luke 1 = Hahahahahhahaha
Vader vs Luke 2 = Luke effectively wins but refuses to follow through and then stops fighting
Duel of Fates = Obi wins but Qui-gon 'IE the guy probably capable of training anakin is dead'
Attack of the Clones = Dooku straight up bulldozes Obiwan and Anakin and escapes
Revenge of the Sith = Every lightsaber duel makes everything worse with each outcome, cept arguable obi vs GG but that stops being a duel really quick'
Awakens is the first time the Main hero fights the Main Villain and wins from the get go.
Its Rey's first duel, and Kylo has pretty much been doing "I can't believe its not my first abuser" shit to her all movie.
By modern standards letting Rey limp away like a scared puppy isn't gonna fly... So they have to have Rey not only fight Kylo and Win but win with an exclamation point.
Don’t forget being paired off with a black girl so he could stop pining after the white chick.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."And this is why when Boyega called out Disney the fandom collectively went “Yeah, he’s got a point.”
Before Palpatine's return was confirmed and TROS came out, I fully expected the third movie to be about how Kylo as Supreme Leader becomes increasingly unstable and eventually burns the First Order to the ground, with the heroes having to find a way to stop him from tearing the galaxy to pieces in the process.
Kylo pre-TROS was a consistently a fool, and a fool with absolute power still has absolute power, can still absolutely dangerous, and can still be very intimidating because of it.
