Seems like a good idea to split them, if they're that different from each other.
They share a lot of similarities, but five years on, and they are starting to look markedly different. OSRS, for instance, has entire continents that RS3 doesn't, and RS3 has features that haven't been implemented in OSRS.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit. They're basically two different games with completely different communities at this point. OSRS has its own devs that have built upon the 2007 version in a completely different direction.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."I'll throw in my support for splitting the pages at this point.
I'm also in favor of the split
Moved this from Video Games to Short-term because this is a project thread.
Macron's notesWhat would the split be?
IMO the best way to handle it is that OSRS-exclusive content is moved to Old School Rune Scape (and subpages) and shared/RS3 content stays where it is.
So, long story short for those not in the know, Runescape split up into what the community calls RS3 (Runescape 3) and OSRS (Old School Runescape) back in 2013. RS3 was the continuation of all of the game's development to that point and beyond, whereas OSRS was a backup of a 2007 copy of the game that they uploaded and continued, before going off in a different direction entirely from where RS3 went.
That being said, at the moment, OSRS and RS3 essentially share a set of Tropes pages in one combinedset of pages. There's a few mentions of new things in OSRS, but the vast majority of the content appears to be related to RS3 when OSRS has a sizable chunk of original content to document.
Would it be a good idea to split the pages so that OSRS has its own set of pages and RS3 has its own, considering there's some serious cases of Alternate Continuity going on? If nothing else, we could include it as a subpage, like "Tropes specific to Old School" as its own page of tropes included in the main page. Or should we just keep them as it is now with no modification?
