Here’s something I didn’t know: Stadia’s controller, in a bid to reduce lag, connected directly to WiFi instead of using Bluetooth with whatever device was streaming the game. This would seem to make the $70 pads useless now. But they were still built with Bluetooth chips, so Google is running a service to update their firmware and convert them into generic controllers for other platforms. There are apparently still a ton of unconverted Stadia controllers out there, so the service has been extended for a year.
