I do not understand the difference with Unusual Pets for Unusual People. Maybe Cool Pet is just a cool pet and Unusual Pets for Unusual People is the subtrope cool pet + cool master (but the description of Cool Pet also links the pet with the master's personality). Anyway, I think the tropes should be merged.
