Jake watched as Amy dragged Ilulu off for a private conversation. He hopef that the stuff between these two will to smoothly.

"You really make the place sound tempting! Honestly, ought to check that out whenever we can!" Jake said with a grin, and nodded when he said to embrace his scales. This Dragon Realms place sounds neat and fancy! With how he usually sticks on his human form just to blend in(ignoring the whole Shenron cover identity thing he had going right about now), it felt like it would be a change of pace if he just sticked in his dragon form all the time over theme and not worry about secret identities or responsibilities.

....Unfortunately he couldnt dwell on that as he and the others read the sign for the city they we're about to arrive in...and it wasnt pretty at all, especially with the long list of races that we're very much not welcome. Even his doppelganger which was in his human form, read the part of the soon to be anti-shapeshifting with a big grimace on his face, not liking it at all. Jake was reminded of that potion that Rotwood made that one time that would had forced a dragon out from their human form to their true draconic form.

"Aw maaaaaan...."

"Aw maaaaan...."

The real and Doppelganger Jake said in unison at the whole situation. Could be strange and cover-blowing, but Jake was far too distracted to care.

Though as Spyro spoke to him to represent Dragonkind, considering his role as the Atlantean Dragon, the red dragon stood up straight, took a deep breath and stretched his wings, a grin on his face.

"It'll be my first time ever doing this kind of ambassador stuff, but...if the Huntsclan and the Dark Dragon couldnt keep down the Atlantean Dragon, then neither will this!"

Well. This sure is one heck of a trial by fire, but...for better or worse, this Journey by the Dragon Council was to make him be better on his Atlantean Dragon role.

Ilulu looks up at the sudden appearance of two strangers, wiping the tears from her eyes as she peeks around Amy. She seems to take particular notice of Eve specifically, and rather noticeably sniffs at the air.

{She’s not human.}

“Um…I like your outfit.”

Pluck's Outskirts (NiGHTS)

It looked like the mood of the flying jester's companions began to fall, one by one. They didn't get why at first - sure, the pink-haired ones were having a moment, but what about the rest?

The first assumption was the stone wall, which, to be fair, would be a problem for the ones who could not fly.

Then, NiGHTS gave a better look at the sign. Prohibitions; one of the greatest enemies of freedom. And this one seemed to prohibit whole groups of beings from crossing under threat of punishment.

The first face that the jester pulled off was a grimace of dread. After all, her true species could be any of these. But, at least another emotion took over to set that dread aside: the shared sense of frustration over such a lack of fairness.

"I admit I liked your words there, Visitor!" NiGHTS briefly quipped towards the bowl-cut boy, before going on a little tirade, fierce and toothy smile contrasting with the angrily-furrowed eyes. "But if this sign, or whoever made these rules, thinks they will stop me from breaking them and laughing afterward..." She snapped her fingers - not an obligatory part of the process, it was just for the playful dramatics - and changed shapes into what could be mistaken as an ordinary, low-class human child, if not for the garishly bright colors, purple hair, and conspicuously hidden red, diamond-cut jewel on the chest. "I got bad news for both of them!"

Jason steps up at Amy's defence of Ilulu, giving off a slightly sheepish smile. "Sorry about that. We were just passing through and got a little curious. We've been tracking something for a long time now."

Eve, meanwhile, smiles at Ilulu's compliment. "Thanks. I sorta made it myself. I'm Eve. Eve Gardner."

"Oh, yeah, I'm Jason Frudnick. The little guy's Fred."

"Ribbit," the gray frog croaks, apparently working off of Jason's cue.

Amy Rose (Road from Pluck)

"Amy Rose. And this is Ilulu." The hedgehog replied in kind, loosening up a little bit more since the group didn't look like they were here to stir up trouble. "What is it you're looking for? A something or a someone?

Road From Pluck

“I was never, uh…too good with clothes. I’ve got this-“

She stands up, gesturing to her cloak, black top and very little else, bare feet included. This is probably the first look the pair have gotten at what Ilulu’s wearing…and her absolutely absurd proportions.

“-and a nicer outfit I got from my last job. But uh…yeah, what’re you looking for? There’s a city we were headed to, maybe it’s in there?”

Nia and Pyra, The Open Road: Góragon Trail

The two of them were looking at their bag full of wealth, most of which had a relief of a Nopon's side profile on one side◊ and the emblem of Argentum, the largest of the Trade Guilds in Alrest. Pyra grabbed a handful of the coins and presented them to the group, "We'll cover for us."

Nia looked at the river in front. It's obvious that it's too deep to ford. A thought did come across to make their own raft and float down, but they don't have the resources for it, so caulking's out of the question. Waiting a day or two to see if conditions improve is impractical, so the only apparent way is paying for the ferry. At the very least, no one's at risk from dying of any nasty diseases.

Hinata: The Open Road

"H-Huh...? O-Oh, it's not... i-it's nothing. I-It's just a... s-simple technique..." Hinata blushed, fiddling with her hair in embarrassment as she ducked her head and gaze away from Milly after being inquired about her water-walking technique. "I-I... m-most shinobi can do it. E-Even Genin-rank. Ano... y-you just channel chakra to the bottoms of your feet... then..."

She paused, briefly lifting her sandal to show the slight shimmer of air indicating the presence of chakra on her soles, before taking a deep breath and sticking it to the tree she'd walked up and down before. She demonstrated how it was stuck in place by tugging her foot, showing Milly how it had no give—only to then wrench off the piece of bark it was stuck to with surprising force; spinning into a kick that sent the stripped wood flying off of her sandal. She landed her foot beside the other, stopping momentarily to listen, and only nodding to herself when she heard the distant splash of water indicating that she'd flung the piece of wood straight into the river.

"T-To climb something by walking up it, you have to make the chakra pull towards it... to stand on water, you need to make it push away..." she explained, poking her fingers together shyly as she turned back towards Milly. "S-So long as you get the balance right... i-it's harder than climbing trees, b-but it's the same technique, more or less. I-I hope that all makes sense..."

Mob: Approaching Sawwar

Well, at least people were agreeing with him. Mob's lips were pressed thin still, and he had taken to leaning his head on his palm where he had his arm rested on the side of the cart. He tried to distract himself a little. Watching the trees go by. Looking for animals. There was a frog, hopping around. He leant forward slightly, watching it. He remembered how he used to make frogs fly; dogs too. Animals acted funny when they were affected by psychic powers. They didn't really know what to do, instead thinking they were either swimming or just mentally switching off while the telekinesis took hold of them. He'd tried it on a cat once, when he was eight years old. It went limp and floppy, like cats tended to do when picked up in general.

Mob had to take a few deep breaths when he realised that the air was stifling around him. He could feel the buzzing of latent power getting close to the surface, the murmurings of invisible spirits attracted by the beacon of psychic energy that was slowly leaking out from him. He swallowed, hard, and then sat up straight to focus on steadying himself some more.

Mob let out a strangled gasping noise as he jolted back into awareness, having found himself being rocked half-asleep by the rocky motions of the cart. Had he been awake before...? He wasn't sure, but the rest of the group were still here, so he must've just drifted off for a second or two. He held his hand over his chest, willing his heartbeat to calm down. It'd be okay, these people were nice! Sure, they were entering a bigoted city... but so long as he stuck with them, it'd all work out. Right?

Ilulu puts a claw to her chin, looking up as she tries to think.

“…Waaaaaiiit, I saw something like that the other day! Those Red Ribbon guys were using a bunch of ‘em!”

Ilulu looks Jason and Eve up and down, paying particular attention to their clothes.

“And you said yours was red? …Buuuut you’re not wearing their dumb logo…”

She paused, clearly considering these disparate facts.

“…I have…decided NOT to destroy you two, assuming you’re not working for a buncha world-dominating, Dragon Ball-hunting jerks.”

So…that’s nice of her.

Just as Master Chief was asking where the ferryman even was, a figure leaned out the window of the cabin on the small white boat. He was a grubby middle-aged man, with a white cap on his head and dark brown sideburns framing a stubbly lantern jaw.

"You strangers lookin' fer a ride over?" he called to the team

Columbia Christie had waited a very long time to finally reach this point, so the sound of defiance from her escorts was making her terribly nervous.

"You kids can't be suggesting just barging straight in, are you?" she asked, getting a little snippy in tone. "What, just stroll up to the gate and say Hi, we're dragons and you're letting us in, like it or not? I think these people are going to be quite resistant after that!"

A sudden idea crossed her mind. "Oh! Uh, Que-uh-C-Cassiopeia!" she said to the pea-green wiseard. "If you're going on ahead, why don't I go with you? We could get up to the Antillian Embassy together all safe and legal, so I can finally get in touch with the royal family and you can introduce yourself to the countrymen of my financiers! Then the others, or...however many of the others get through security...can rendezvous with us outside, and we can ensure that payment is settled. How does that sound, everyone!"

The Riverside at the Crossroads - (Master Chief and Cortana)

Chief immediately turns to look at the ferryman in question, Cortana also facing the ferryman.

"Hi! Yes, I'd say we are! We're trying to get to Glass Mountain. Could you help us with that?"

"What the lady said."

"Uh, thank you?"

"Ribbit."

"Fred, what'd I say? Be nice."

Jason clears his throat before continuing, "So, where are you guys headed? Eve and I haven't really been able to do much since we lost Gaia-Sophia."

Riverside (Sagi, Marno & Milly)

“Uh, yes sir! We are-aah!”

Milly basically shoves her way to the front of the group, practically tugging Sagi along with her.

“One trip across the river towards Glass Mountain, please!”

The pair dismiss their wings, seeing as they don’t need them to cross the river anymore. Sagi begins counting out coins in his hand.

“Is it…fifteen per person or per trip…?”

Outskirts of Sawaar (Ilulu)

“Oh, we were headed for the city! Our friends should be there by now, c’mon! I’ll introduce you guys to everyone, some of ‘em are nice. And others..”

Ilulu starts to lead them towards the rest of the group.

“…are also present.”

As they approach the remainder of their team, Ilulu tilts her head at the large sign.

“Hey guys, we’re back! What’s everyone…”

Her gaze drifts down to the written warning.

“…talking…”

Ilulu’s voice drifts off as she reads the notice posted outside the city limits.

“…”

Ilulu’s eye twitches. Her tail smacks roughly against the ground in a bluntly-aggressive display. Those near Ilulu or with sensitive hearing might hear a low growl escape from somewhere deep in the petite dragon’s throat.

"Twelve, not fifteen," C.C. corrected Sagi archly. "Unless you feel like grossly overpaying, Mister Moneybags. That said, I second the question as to whether it's per trip or per person, Captain Ferryman."

"I suppose that would be..." Pea trailed off thoughtfully after Columbia's suggestion, and then she clapped her hands as her eyes lit up with a new idea.

"How about this?!" she offered, turning to the rest of the group with an excited smile. "You all can wait here a short while as Christie and I go to the embassy with the artifacts, and then after she and I are inside the city, I can use my magic to teleport back over here, and then teleport all the rest of us past the guards into the city! That way, we should not need to deal with the guards being prejudiced at all! As long as you are alright with disguising yourselves while you are in the city, that is..."

She registered Ilulu's displeasure, but being herself, didn't think anything of it other than, That poor dragon girl! It must be terribly unpleasant to be discriminated against like this!

"All of us together might make it a tight fit..." Banjo said aloud, unable to not call attention to the fact. While he wasn't as big as some people, he didn't much relish the thought of being bunched up against others.

Following after Ilulu once she left to rejoin the others, the hedgehog realized just by looking at both the dragon girl and the black-haired boy that there was trouble imminent.

"Oooooo-kay, let's try and take some deep breaths, alright?" Amy said, addressing both Ilulu and Mob before looking at the others present with a very clear 'someone please help me prevent a meltdown' expression on her face as she gestured to the two of them.

Sawwar Outskirts

Miko just sighed lightly as the tension in the group shot up with the appearance of a sign. It was somewhat likely that this place was going to refuse entry to her as well, depending on how well knowledged they are of werebeasts. She could easily be mistaken for her demonborn-kin and clearly aren't kind to them, or barring that they might think of her as a mutant, permanent lycanthrope. Why did they post this sign up? Why would they refuse entry to some kinds of mortals and not others? It 'could' be just as the sign says. Its not strictly untrue after all that some species are prone to violence over war. The Lycanthrope curse causes the cursed to go berserk, and most undead are born with a thirst for the destruction of life that cannot be abated easily. Talking about dragons.. its is an overgeneralization of the actions of a few violent factions and infamous stories.

So they are right to put this up? That's a complicated question, but ultimately the answer is no. Discrimination creates contempt. Contempt breeds hate, and hate turns to war. That weakens these people as a whole and makes a fragile framework. It bothers me as well, but Werebeast tribes have been more petty than this. Eventually this will offend someone whose power they cannot resist. It 'could' be? Are they just dumb? It could also be a political maneuver to gather followers possibly from a recent trauma in their cultural knowledge or a purposeful act to sabotage this place long-term. Naivety or short term thinking isn't out of the question either

Quickly, Miko's senses were filled with the telltale signs of a torrent of emotions. They aren't happy about the sign are they? It's just proof of what I just.. Hmmm.. While Miko's thoughts about the party she was traveling with and their relative youth and inexperience, one person stood out in the party among the others. Among anger and worry, the standout is someone whose heartbeat raced but subtle muscle movements suggested a different set of emotions. The young psychic hadn't reacted with anger at first sight, but now was dwelling on it and his power was practically at his sleeves. Anger had to be cooled, but this was something else.

Miko approached him, openly making sure he could see her approach though she wasn't sure he was paying enough attention to the outside world to notice. She tried to smile reassuringly at him as she smoothly placed one hand on his shoulder, tails slowly waving back and forth. Fortunately, as she approached he already took a step back himself thinking about food. "It's all right..." Is he remembering something he did or something that happened to him? Does that make a difference? Of course it does.. "The world is a big place, some will learn the wrong lessons in life. "

She then broke the smile and read the sign again. "Social change is not so easy though." Her hand swept over the letters with a sadder smile, but brightened as she looked back at Mob "But it does not threaten to harm us merely for being different, only should we lie about it. They probably know deep down that its wrong." That's not quite how you put it to me and your mind is flashing through history... It is easy to think logically until emotions cloud your thoughts. But uniting the tribes didn't work out, did it? Are you sure that's the ultimate answer.. ...yes.

Mob: Outskirts of Sawwar

He could see that dragon girl reacting the same way as him. She looked like she didn't hold herself back as much as himself, though. Or at least, she was new to it. Mob was feeling a little sick with how much he was having to swallow his anger by the time that Miko approached him. His swirling emotions switched to that of guilt when he recognised how cautiously she moved as she neared, clearly aware of his state.

After reaching him, Miko put a hand on his shoulder, and he felt himself freeze up for a moment. But then he remembered that Reigen would do the same thing with him, and he relaxed somewhat. He listened to what Miko was saying, quietly tuning out the rest of what was around him. Her words were confusing at first, but as he played them back in his head over and over he understood them more each time, and he eventually nodded to her and met her gaze with his own, reddish-brown eyes.

He had an intense stare when he was like this. Even though the rest of his expression was its usual blank stare, his eyes in particular reflected the most how truly furious he was feeling.

"Then someone should teach them a lesson," he said flatly, his tone carrying only a mere modicum of that anger. "They should bring out their real feelings instead of hiding behind..."

"...thank you..." he said quietly after a while, feeling the hypocrisy coming before he'd even said it out loud and finding relief in the sensation of stepping back. He wanted to cry now, but he couldn't. "Thank you for stopping me. My master said I shouldn't use my powers against others... and later on, I realised I should also use them to help people. But I don't think I would've been helping at all if I'd used them just then."

His gaze had been drifting down and away from Miko through all of this, but he suddenly looked straight up at her again, grabbing the hand of hers that was on his shoulder and leaning forward slightly with an intensity that almost caused his powers to react all over again.

Tears were pricking the corners of his eyes as he said this, and his irises had shifted to a ruby red. But this time, he seemed more subdued. The power wasn't escaping, but the walls had been let down a moment. Just enough for Miko to see him.

Spyro & Sparx-Outside of Sawwar

"Spoken like a true hero, dude," Spyro said to Jake, holding a fist out for a fist bump. "Trust me, this isn't my usual "torch enemy armies and look cool doing it" gig either." But if it helps dragon kind in general, I'm willing to give it a try! Glad to hear your up to it too."

It was then Spyro noticed a peculiar energy in the air. Feeling it out with his own magic, he was a little surprised to learn it came from Mob. Despite the flat expression that was ever present on Mob's face (Did Mob DO other expressions? ...Huh, why did that question feel so loaded?), he was giving off an energy that felt pretty heavy. Too heavy. Way too heavy.

Before Spyro could try to nip that negativity in the bud though, Ilulu and Amy returned. Spyro tried to scrabble to that stupid sign to block it from Ilulu's sight, but he was already too late. Ilulu had already read what was it, and yep, she was not happy. "Aw man. I wanted to avoid this," he mumbled to Sparx.

Alright, Spyro. Time to jump on damage control.

"Ilulu. Look at me for a sec." Spyro spoke up, voice surprisingly firm for the usually cocky dragon, making sure that Ilulu's attention shifted to him. "You too, Mob."

"Back in Pluck, we faced prejudice from small minded jerks too, remember? Remember what else happened? We showed everyone how awesome us Dragons really are! I know you dipped a bit early to get back to your...ugh, waitress job, so you didnt get to hear the full extent of the praise. But they were calling you a hero, 'Lu. The townspeople AND the guards. We proved the jerks there wrong!"

Spyro paused for a moment to let this sink in, before continuing, in a confident tone. "And you gotta believe we can do it again! But Mob's got the right, again. We're not gonna prove were the best by lashing out and hurting people. We're gonna have to play this smart." And boy, wasn't that something coming from him?

"So, as much as I'd like to barge in, nah. You're way off the mark here, Christie" Spyro finally addressed Columbia Christie, tone going challengingly dismissive in response to her somewhat snippy tone. He reached to his side to grab his travel pouch, and opened it to begin rifling through it. As he did this, he continued, "Now, I've learned a lot of things on my many adventures, including this-"

He pulled something out of his pouch with that statement-a giant gemstone, a perfectly cut ruby the size of a Chaos Emerald. "Sometimes, people need a little incentive to start doing the right thing."

Spyro snorted at his own words, remembering the bear responsible for teaching him that lesson. Moneybags better not show up anywhere during this adventure if he knew what was good for his health. Anyways.

"Sparx and I have collected so many gems over my past few adventures that I could pile it all in a hoard the size of a mountain. Heck, I've probably got enough gems in my pouch to put whatever the King's got sitting in the royal treasury to shame," he boasted, and Sparx hummed in proud affirmation as Spyro pocketed the gem again. "Soooooo I don't mind parting with a few here or there. Which brings me to my plan."

"You, me, and Jake," and here he deliberately looked at Ilulu and Jake, "show up at the city gates as 'ambassadors' of the Dragon Realms and Dragonkind, and wave a whole chest's worth of treasure under their noses as a 'good will gift'. That should get us in the gate to meet the King, and from there, we work on winning him and the city over. Sound good?"

Riverside (Sagi, Marno and Milly)

   "Whoa, back off Jolly Green Jackass, the kid made a mistake."   

While Marno's lack of body language normally makes it hard to identify who he's addressing, the fact that he means C.C. is probably somewhat obvious.

   "So he misread a sign, you don't have to be a condescending jerk about it - to a literal child."   

"Marno, let's not-"

   "The child who's paying for the grown adult's trip across the river, by the way. 'Mr. Moneybags,' what're you, twelve?"   

Outskirts of Sawwar

"...Isn't bribery a crime?"

So is murder and she had no problem with that the other day.

Riverside

"Oh, you're a child, Sagi? My mistake. You look much older than your age," C.C. commented airily, cocking her head and twirling a strand of hair on a finger. "I'll keep that in mind in the future, Mr. No Body. I don't make a habit of being rude to children unless I'm trying to make a point that's actually important. Adults, on the other hand, I would expect to remember things like how much a thing they're paying for costs."

Riverside

   “Fair enough. You keep in mind that Sagi’s a child, and I’ll keep in mind that you act like one. Good deal.”   

Outskirts of Sawwar (NiGHTS)

NiGHTS, still taking the shape of an common human child, immediately made a pout. That was, frankly, almost entirely the idea behind the shapeshifting guise, in defiance of the sign.

"Boring!" Is the word that the purple jester would use out loud to describe her opinion on Christie's suggestion. Then, the suggestion to wait came first, and NiGHTS crossed her arms, "Boring! In a double way!" ...but added with a sly smile, "I'm all for causing mischief in a different shape!"

It, for her, sounded more fun than showing giant gems to the Visitors guarding the gates.

Riverside (Meta Knight)

The little blue knight vehemently nodded in affirmation to the ferryman's question. Unless a great battle came right ahead, Meta Knight was just *ready* for the Glass Mountain ride, and to get all information possible from that place.

But, not there yet, he had time to spare for a dry thought based on the arguing he overheard:

Why does this remind me of a discussion that'd happen on a bad day on the Halberd?

Chief turns to look at C.C. bickering with Marno (the latter being invisible, so that meant Sagi was probably looking embarrassed).

"Not the time, guys."

"Oh, brother..."

Outskirts of Sawwar (Jason, Eve and Fred)

"I mean, Ilulu's not wrong," Jason points out before glancing at NiGHTS, "but I'm not entirely sure how causing mischief is gonna help."

"You know, technically, Jason, we could pretend to be representatives of Sophia."

"...Do they even know where Sophia is? Or if it exists?"

NiGHTS gave a brief pause to the plans of mischief, glancing with a degree of sympathy towards Ilulu and Mob, the ones comforting them, and the other dragons making boring-sounding plans, right before the darker-haired of the two Visitors with their quite curious creature caught their attention.

To answer Jason's question, NiGHTS stood on their toes at a spot of the caravan closest to the new pair and their amphibian-esque creature, giving a ear-to-ear grin. "Nobody else here said mischief can't open up a few pairs of eyes!"

If neither of them saw her taking this form before approaching the group, then, with a closer view, Jason and Eve could notice how... "off", this apparent human child looked. Besides the colors and cat-like glimmer in the eyes, there was something attached to the chest and buried beneath the outfit, and there was the grace and, above all, ease the apparent child had in standing for quite a while without falling.

Outskirts of Sawwar

Miko smiled at Mob's appeal to her and nodded. "I can see you more than you might imagine." Is he psychic or magical? How is he doing that? I have no reason to suspect he is is magical based on their earlier banter. This must be the presence of his mind.
