Oh. Well, the way I was envisioning it was that Nelly does a sort of arm-pump/punching motion with her shield, and during that motion, a section of ground/wall/similar solid surface springs out in the appropriate direction.

For Venez a Moi, how about, 15 seconds of time, plus the chant, and she has to twirl in place while she casts it? If the twirl isn't enough, I'm fine with the 30 second interval.

@Truth Hurts 22: Ah, I understand then. And the twirling requirement sounds kind of funny and also good, I like it.

Oh yeah and speaking of, "arm-pump/punching motion with her shield" I forgot before that I was gonna say if you did want an offensive spell that still fits with a kind of tanking specialization, a shield bash of some sort could be acceptable.

Well since it's an artifact, it'll still hurt the baddies to be beat over the head with it even without a fancy spell, right?

Yes, just bashing them normally also works; a spell could just help facilitate it easier, make it hit harder, or perhaps add an extra effect to the hit. Also an option for progression later even if you don't want it now.

• Origin: 1960, from her hometown of Silvertown in the Country District of West Ham, Essex County, England (Present time London District of Newham, in the Greater London County)
• Age: 14
• Appearance: Keri on the left, Requiem Heart on the right.◊ She's 5ft3 tall.
  • Magic color: Light Silver
• Personality: Keri is a bit of a rebel, but only because she wants to see the world. She is a bit too curious for her own good and ends up more often than not causing some mishaps. She likes animals, hates the intensive studies she partakes at her home... as well as any other kind of studies. She's willing to help in whatever way she can, even if it doesn't work at first.
• Back story: Her life had been pretty uneventful, as she was born and raised in a big house in Silvertown. Her family is rich and they are sorta over protective. She managed to escape and see the town when she was 10, though her attempts of making friends caused a town-wide food fight (the so-called Silvertown's Big Food Brawl of 1956), but she kept going and going outside. During her time outside, she found a veteran explorer who, enamored with the young girl's adventurous spirit, taught her how to properly use a rapier. It's probably the only thing so far she did that haven't led into any kind of mayhem. A couple years later, Keri was heading towards the house of her "teacher"... just to run right into a monster situation. Her first reaction was shouting "This isn't my fault, I swear!" out of custom. She took a stick and tried to fight back to defend a couple, but was quickly disarmed. She was saved by the goddess in the nick of time.
• Trait: Her training gave her a shorter reaction time, perfect to counter her natural distractedness.
• Transformation class: Magical Artifact
  • Artifact/familiar: Heartiers. Her artifact is a silver open heart-shaped pendant that becomes into two swords with half a heart each as the hand guard. She needs to keep both swords in her person to keep her transformation.
• Spell specialization: Quick Blades. She bases herself in quick strikes with her blades.
  • Magic Missile (basic spell): A magic arrow fired from the hand that will fly straight in spite of gravity and weather conditions; though it loses energy and thus does less damage the farther it flies, until it completely dissipates at about 100 meters.
  • Purify (complex spell): Used on corrupted humans to rid them of the evil that took them over. Their magical defense must already be pierced, and you have to place your hand directly on them and channel for at least three seconds; the more severe the corruption, the longer it takes.
  • Straight Ahead (basic spell): One of her blades is imbued in power and she thrusts forward, gaining extra impulse to close distances between her and the target. She can reach up to 50 meters, but the attack is barely stronger than a regular thrust, the traveled distance being the only gain.
  • Silver Wave (basic spell): A faster variation on the Magic Missile that's shot by slashing with both swords. It's three times stronger than the Magic Missile, but it loses strength easier, dissipating completely after 15 meters, and it also consumes more mana.
  • Cross Guard (basic spell): A small, but sturdy energy shield that she forms by crossing her swords together. It lasts up to 15 seconds, but strong attacks can shatter it earlier and knock her back. It's the most taxing of the basic spells in what concerns to mana.
  • Silver Parry (basic spell): A counterattack spell that deflects attacks away from her and can even return them to the target. The mana used depends on the power of the attack deflected and returning attacks back to the attacker takes more mana. It doesn't nullify the damage either, just reduces it.
  • Silver Breaker (complex spell): A spell that requires concentration and an opening. She generates a windy aura around herself that boosts her speed and increases the power of her sword slashes as she goes with a barrage of attacks over the creature. This attack can last up to 15 seconds and it's only used as last resource, as it's the attack the drains the most mana, leaving unable to cast other spells for about 15 seconds, as well as only being able to use this spell only once per transformation.

Is this gonna work?

@RESP: The character looks interesting. The evil stuff going on isn't really doing straight up zombies, though.

For your trait you've basically given her two traits in one. So unless they're both gonna be less effective than one alone would be, I'd say that should change.

I think you might've typoed the description of the artifact; it becomes... Guards with a handguard? I'm assuming that was supposed to be "sword" with a handguard?

I don't understand the intention of the "Shining Blades" specialization. From most of your spells I'm guessing it's based on like, swordsmanship? Blinding Aurora doesn't really fit though in that case; some of the others are a bit iffy too, but I suppose close enough in idea.

The whole reckless warrior aesthetic is what I'm going for, so I'll keep Wild Child as it is. I replaced Uprising with something else, more fitting in my book.

Will keep the second trait, actually. After I took a long nap (I posted it 3 AM in my time), I realized the first trait doesn't fit her story as a positive trait... actually, her curiosity should make her LESS attentive to her surroundings and easier to ambush, which her reaction speed aims to counter.

I meant "swords", as in two of them. It was a grammar failure (Damn dyslexia...), snd she needs them both to transform, as both are halves of her pendant.

I... phoned it in with the specialization, will need to change both that and the Blinding Aurora, mostly because I noticed how they make little sense. As I said, I finished 3 AM with it (I was stuck with the image making).

I'll do the fixings soon.

I tried to draw Iolanthe. The hair and expression were actually very great! You definitely have a better sense of hair than I do.

Other than that, it looks alright for the most part. I think that Silver Breaker should have like... 10 seconds of casting time or a more complex casting requirement.

• She has a regular-person name now (it's Emery)
• Backstory is more fleshed out
• Share Senses is a bit clearer (it always worked like this in my head, I just hadn't written it out)

@RESP: I don't see any difference in Silver Breaker than before. So long as you add something in, I think it's all good then. "Requiem Heart" is accepted.

@wingedcatgirl: Looks alright to me. "Paladin" is accepted.

I added a once per transformation limit. I know I did, because it's right there.
