Hmm... (Ira stands up.) Maybe we could ask her. I'll be right back, guys.

(Ira moves to go back below deck, stepping around the still sleeping Sharkazil as he does so. As Ira walks past the creature, though, he accidentally steps on the end of its tail.)

Grrarrzzt? (The Sharkazil yelps, bolting up and startling Ira.)

"Eek!" Upon hearing the Sharkazil, Kauri's blanket suddenly flies away. When it hits the floor, the boy is nowhere to be seen.
"A-Ahh..." Anyone who decides to look up would see Kauri somehow a third up the mast, fearfully clinging onto it.

Boat

Jerrid was still a decent way back when..

WOAH! Kid, are you alright??

Jerrid looks among the group gathered nearby in an attempt to rouse them.

Guys, someone help get him down!

The Zenpance

Sennen, who had fallen asleep on the bench next to Jerrid, stirs groggily and mumbles something unintelligible.

(Ira looks back as he is calming the Sharkazil back down upon hearing Jerrid shouting up the mast. Ira then discovers that Kauri has somehow gone from the deck to up the mast in the time he was looking away.)

What the-? Kauri, how'd you get up there? (Ira asks, running over to the base of the mast with Jerrid.)

Kauri looks downward, only to realize how high up he was. He almost started getting dizzy, but pulled himself together as to not let go. "H-HELP!"

Boat

Jerrid looks over to Ira as he darts his eyes around his nearby surroundings to try and find anything of use.

Find me some rope or something! We'll ask those questions when he's safely down!

The Zenpance

Kauri's shout jolts Sennen out of slumberland. She stares up at the horned boy halfway up the ship's mast, still too groggy to properly comprehend what she's looking at.

Boat

Sennen! Wake up!

Jerrid scurries over and tries to rouse the clearly still-drowsy girl (at least he assumed so); all the while he scans around for that rope.

Look at the kid! We gotta get him down!

Hang on, Kauri! (Ira says as he starts to climb up the mast himself toward Kauri to try to carry him back down, digging his claws into the mast to keep himself from falling.)

"...nah, look, Ira's gottim, he'll be fine..."

Sennnen still sounds half-asleep, mumbling semi-coherently as she blinks at the scene.

"Say, uh, how... how'd the kid get up there anyway?"

Duane rushes onto the deck. Whats going on? Wh-Why is Kauri up there?!

Kauri's arms start to feel tired... despite his best efforts, his muscles ultimately relax. Hopefully, Ira can catch him...
Well, that's what he would be thinking if he fell. Upon loosening his grip on the mast, he notices that his hands stay in place rather easily. Kind of like they're sticking on. "... Huh?"

(Ira soon gets just below Kauri) Okay, Kauri, just carefully shimmy down onto my back and hang tight, alright? And then I'll climb back down. (He says. He doesn't initially notice Kauri's hands sticking to the mast despite him trying to let go.)

Kauri sees Ira below him and tries to make his way down.
Except his hands are stuck.
"What the-? S-Stop... sticking...!" He tries to pull one hand straight off the pole. It's stuck on there tight. "Nngh! Come on...!"

Boat

I have no idea. The sharkazil dude scared the poor kid and next thing I know he's ten feet in the air!

Jerrid looks back up at the current progress that Ira is making. While Ira has a good enough grip on Kauri Jerrid can't help but bothered by something else. Is the kid....stuck?

Uh...is he stuck??

(Ira is a bit confused. Kauri looks like he should be letting go, but it seems like his hands are glued to the mast.) Kauri, are your hands stuck? (Ira asks. His tone sounds a bit strained due to him starting to feel pained from hanging from the mast mostly by his claws.)

Kauri stops pulling and looks at his hands. He starts moving one of them in different ways to see if it would become unstuck. And, to his relief, it did! All he had to do was curve his hand, kind of like peeling it off.
Next was his other hand. Applying the same technique, he managed to unstick that one as well. Both his hands were finally free! "Phew... wait-"
Both his hands were free.
"Woah- AAAHH!" He screams as gravity starts taking effect. He tries to grab at Ira on his way down and actually manages to succeed. His fall is stopped as his hands instead stick to the dragon.

Whoa!! (Ira says, nearly letting go of the mast with one claw to catch Kauri. Ira is relieved when Kauri catches him on the way down, though.)

That was close... (Ira says.) Alright, going back down...

(Ira begins carefully sliding back down the mast.)

Sennen is... grinning?

"Aye, see? Didn't I tell ya that juice was a good thing?"

Kauri holds onto Ira tight, panting as all the excitement is making his heart race.

Duane moves to comfort Kauri, but sees that he’s already hugging Ira. As he turns to take his leave, he hears Sennen’s remark. As he walks below deck, he comments coarsely, Asshole.

(Ira reaches the deck and lets go of the mast.) Well, that was exciting, eh? (Ira says as he leans over to let Kauri jump back down on the floor.)

(He also hears Sennen's comment. He's still skeptical that the Beast Blood did Kauri any good.) You think it was the Beast Blood that caused Kauri to end up all the way up there? (He asks her.)

Boat

Whatever it was, I'm pretty sure we're gonna have to tell that Georgia lady about exactly what happened and hope she can tell us more about whatever power he's got now.

Choosing to ignore Duane, Sennen shrugs at Ira's comment.

"What else d'you think it could have been? That stuff isn't just for show."
