Wonder how Hyoga's borderline Oedipical feelings for his mother would look like in a girl.
Wake me up at your own risk.…Rewatching parts of the CG movie, this show might look worse, actually. Then again it was a movie, so bigger budget I guess.
Was the animation of the movie considered bad? I actually find it the most salvageable thing of the movie.
Being generic mooks makes sense with their backstory, at least. The manga never really explained why they were pallet-swaps of the heroes
Of course, the entire concept of mooks goes against how the manga did things, though
This Very Wiki considers the animation the best part.
The CG movie was actually a lot better than it had any right to be. It has far better and more in-depth fight scenes than the anime (a lot of which was the characters standing behind a green screen and posing), and most of the changes to the characterization and visual designs of the cast were straight up improvements IMO. It does suffer a lot from being rushed, but what little there is in terms of plot/character isn't bad at all.
A new trailer for the series; it's coming out on July 19.
I will say that battle near the end had some pretty dynamic camera angles.
Huh Ikki's apparently evil, wonder if his familial relationship with Shun is kept.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, the series is officially released.
So, the dialogue was originally recorded in English at Sentai Studios (which is located in Houston, where the ADV dub of the first 60 or so episodes of original Saint Seiya was recorded) and was dubbed in Japanese. Meanwhile, most of the Spanish cast returned, except for Jesús Barrero since he unfortunately passed away not too long ago.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.I completely forgot this was releasing today. Gonna have to watch it later but how is it? I'm relatively new to the fandom and I know people were disappointed by the trailer from months ago but I thought it looked pretty good. Is it better than the trailer looked or no?
The few English responses I saw on Tumblr seem...fairly positive. Not sure if that’s part of an indication but I hope that’s a good sign.
A couple of Italian critics have trashed it.
One simply said "it's crap", another that it betrays anything from the source material. He mentions especially that a strong point of the original manga was the perfect blending of epic mythology and the classic battle shonen plot (character that develop and become stronger), while this one has become more of a bland superhero-like story, it forgets the "Japanese" elements (like armors with a soul) in favor of new sci-fi elements and it has also changed the messages of the story with ones that don't work in the story. He mantions that the only positive point of the netflix adaptation it's that it does a decent job at compressing the source material (changes aside). He also said that Andromeda's sex change is basically pointless, since the character itself did nothing in the netfilx series.
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upDont expect anyone from the regions that loved Saint Seiya to say anything good about this new reboot.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I'm from Argentina and,... Let's say that some Argentinian fans are pissed at it.
There seems to be a definitive schism. People who haven’t seen the original seem to enjoy it (the animation in particular reminds people of Miraculous Ladybug) while the people who are hardcore fans of SS seem to hate it. It’s not a unanimous hatred.
Honestly, I'm a long time Saint Seiya fan & this did not bother me after all it could still be worse. I do agree tho Hyoga would have made a better match for the Gender Flip.
DJ of TokuI'm relatively new to the franchise (I've only seen most of Saintia Shou and I'm currently making my way through Omega.) but I'm halfway through this show and I'm enjoying it. Some things could be better but it's pretty fun so far.
I’m liking it so far. There are things I would change (cursing but no blood? Shounens and blood go together like peanut butter and jelly) but I like most of what I’ve seen so far.
And the Struts’ cover of the original opening is good stuff.
I dont get why the Black Knights look like generic mooks. Wouldn't switching the colors on the heroes have been easier? It's pretty much how the manga played it.
