From the guy behind Xavier: Renegade Angel and Wonder Showzen comes something that's probably supposed to stray from the usual [as] fare and be considered to be genuinely, horrifyingly, "what in the actual hell am I watching, now I'm never going to sleep"-thought-inducing Cosmic Horror.

Synopsis:

The Shivering Truth is a miniature propulsive omnibus clusterbomb of painfully riotous daymares all dripping with the orange goo of dream logic. A series of loosely linked emotional parables about stories within tales that crawled out of the deepest caverns of your unconscious mind and became lovingly animated in breath-slapping stop motion - in other words, it is the truth.

From the preview alone, it looks to be the very first successful attempt at true Cosmic Horror comedy that is both not a parody, and more horror than chuckles. The "funniest" skit I'm guessing is the one with the little girl playing peekaboo and the mother suddenly is incapable of perceiving her daughter at all and going insane trying to find her, which is already the most pitch black yuks in the history of [adultswim] ever.

Yeah, this is something that could be potentially really good and experimental for Adult Swim.

Is it too soon to add a sublisting for this under Surreal Horror? Because boy howdy.

So I've seen it now. It looks vaguely like horror, sometimes. It sounds vaguely like horror, sometimes. It's so absurd it wraps back around into comedy.
