Am I reading Hollywood Fire and Convection, Schmonvection correctly as sister tropes where the former is for harmless fire while the latter is for harmless lava? Because I noticed lots of example under Convection, Schmonvection being used for fire-related situations. I am culpable as well because I always believed Convection, Schmonvection was for all "heat is harmless" situations.

Convection, Schmonvection can apply to any heat source, not just lava:

Although lava is the primary offender, this also applies to any time convection is ignored for the sake of Rule of Cool, such as when a character is standing above or near a large fire or any other extreme heat source.

Hollywood Fire is about characters ignoring not only the heat, but also the smoke of a blazing inferno.

Convection, Schmonvection can also apply to cold weather and places.

^^ This take would create an unhealthy overlap when the heat of fire is the only concern in a scene. E.g., which trope applies to a piano player continuing playing as if nothing happened while the house around him is on fire?
