The CGI didn't look good, but they were probably playing with related tropes. It is interesting that the scene when they have stopped dancing isn't made with CGI, and that the small girl that is then dancing with them isn't either.

This episode made me question if Yamada Tae really is mindless.

That last bit of her at the end seemed to show her bonking the dog on the head, which might suggest something...

And the naming stuff, of course.

[up][up][up][up] Hmyeah, it was a bit too normal, especially the second half.

The CG looked awkward as hell, but I'm willing to bet that it's at least partly deliberate.

As for Tae… yeah, for a supposedly mindless zombie, she was strangely cooperative in this ep.

I don’t want to be a doomsayer, but I do worry that the show will be in danger of losing its chance for a unique identity if it has more episodes like this.

They should make the zombie thing their gimmick - that went over alright in last week’s episode. That would at least allow for some crazier performances. Be undead and proud!

Episode 3:

Uhhh...It was okay I guess. Not as good as the first two and the CGI looks eh...Still, I'm hoping that it won't lose it's identity and could at least become decent. Although I'm wondering if the show could hit Cerebus Syndrome later on :P

3. And now we present our regularly scheduled idol show, now with a zombie flavor. It's... alright I guess, especially since I'm a sucker for CG dances. And the team dynamics feel more complete, so that's nice. Definitely missing the spark of the last two episodes. Fine for a one-off, less so if this is the tone for the rest of the show.

I don't usually keep up with Anime but this one is just quirky and unique enough to catch my attention.

The premise is original, the characters are adorable in their own creepy way and the director's hamtastic acting is excellent.

I'll admit though that the third episode was weaker than the first two, but it carried through plot development that had to be done. At least Ai and Junko seem to be willing to be part of the team now.

And a Hot Springs episode next. There's so many ways that can go wrong.

Binged the first three episodes last night. It's great. Yeah, the third episode was less quirky and more sincere/played-straight idol anime, but I won't say that's a bad thing yet. Gotta see where things go. Saki-chan is the best girl and I hope Tae-chan stays just as she is. The manager is a gem, and I want to know his background (and if he's a zombie too).

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

I actually wonder why the Manager chose Sakura his first or second zombie… All the others are famous for some reason or another (except Tae… maybe), but for all we know Sakura was just your ordinary fashionista…

Just some girl who got hit by a truck. Mind you, we actually know very little about her (and she knows very little about herself), so imagine there's something important in who she was in life.

I wonder if at some point they will run into someone that knew them when they were alive.

Some of them didn't die that long ago.

Episode 4:

Today's episode is a Hot Springs Episode. And the episode has some great hijinks such as using pharmaceutical tools to perform the show. Not only that, the hot spring scene seems rather funny and so does the dark hall scene. Although I feel bad for the owner of the pharmaceutical company that was originally tried to forge a partnership but ah well. Though the next episode would be interesting

4. Still feels like it's trying to reach a balance between zombie parody and sincere idol show. Not quite sure if it reached that mark yet, though probably closer than what we got last week. Ah well, still entertaining either way.

Tbh... I prefer the show to be a parodies of Idol genre which is unlikely due to the direction that they will take. But I'm not going to be surprise if the second half takes a bit of a darker and edgier turn which is unlikely but we'll see.

The direction of that corridor scene was pretty great. I expected some kind of twist regarding the Saganshina Z but apparently not… thought maybe that'll come back.

Next episode seems to go back to a weirder kind of idol show, which I'm all for.

Also, it's a detail, but I love that every girl speaks with their own speech patterns (Kyuushuu dialect, Toukyou dialect, old Japanese, keigo…) It gives a lot of color to their interactions. waii Kyuushuu dialect isn't that common either in anime, so it's refreshing.

PS: I just realized that the opening is kinda similar to the one of Shimoneta… Not gonna complain though!

Episode 5… goddammit that jingle is catchy. evil grin

Kotarou has found Saki's sweet spot it seems, at least for this time. And Tae saves the day. Kinda. And I'm not so sure the manager actually knows what he's doing.

Pretty significant that so far their "idol activity" has consisted mostly of silly publicity stunts for companies…

…Rewatching the opening, I was wondering… Could it be that that out-of-the-blue Super Sentai action sequence is where the show is actually going? As in, that "save Saga" thing was actually very literal?

Episode 5:

More funny and bizarre antiques happen in this episode. Especially that Chicken Dance and the olympics. Za Legendary Yamada Tae saves the day. tongue And seems that the yellow haired girl, Saki, shows her fun side when trying to perform in this show. And then there's the part where the manager speaks French (No offense @Lyendith tongue). Anyways, seems that a man knows someone in the Franchouchou group... This is going to be interesting

@Lyendith Probably I lean on metaphorical side. But it would be awesome if Franchouchou went into full Power Rangers to save Saga from monsters. tongue

And if you wondered why the owner's voice sounded weird, that's because it wasn't a voice actor but the restaurant's real-life owner. tongue

Yes, this show seems to be trying to help Saga in real life. Not sure the situation is so bad that would justify a necromancy metaphor though.

I just noted something about the fourth episode:

Kotaro gave the girls a make up so that they would look like human and it will washed off when it got contacted by Water. But when the girls are soaking their feet, it doesn't getting washed off. Maybe anime logic I guess :P

Episode 6:

Wow... More conflicts and dramas in this episode and this is from Ai and Junko. Which is understandable considered they died in the different timeline. One came from Showa era (Junko) that dies with the plane crash and one came from Heisei era (Ai) that dies getting struck by lightning and like I said, their perspective regarding idols are different. Luckily, Sakura and Saki tries to calm them down a little bit. Also, wonder how will they fare in the next episode though as it was supposed to be a tough challenge when performing in the big stage overall. P.S. While I feel bad for Ai's death, I can't help to say that it's a legendary death so yeah :P Also, Ai came from the idol group in the first episode before Sakura died? Interesting.

Dayum… that's the most awesome death I don't want to have. evil grin

But other than that, eeh… I don't think drama suits this series, at least not on an entire episode. It doesn't help that Ai and Junko's diverging opinions on how an idol should interact or not with their fans doesn't really interest me that much.

Though I guess that touches on the role of entertainers in general.
