Dragalia Lost

So apparently Halloween Elly's Mana Spiral is more of a nerf than anything, doubling the SP cost of her Skill 1 while barely increasing damage, and completely wrecking her gameplay niche. That's... quite an accomplishment.

It was pretty all right, I like the concept but I was lazy with actually playing it so the shortness of it all does bother me somewhat.

At least the story was fun and I got all the war chronicles.

I don't blame you for being lazy. Some fun battles, but a serious grind, with <15k possible per battle and going up to 2 million points. I stopped at 1.25 mil for the dark tomes (Though I don't know why, as I don't have any use for them at the present).

It's the most baffling spiral since... Celliera, which isn't too long ago, but still. Even if HElly's DPS somehow improves, she'd still feel worse to play because you can't spam light pumpkins with buffs and heals like you used to. For any misgivings I might've had with other spirals, at least they made their characters stronger. They really did her a disservice with this one.

So if you unlock her spiral, best thing to do is to not upgrade it to that point so it isn't wasted on that.

New chapter thoughts:

• Campfire scene with the party, red flags everywhere!
• Aww Mascula at least got to see his brethren grow and develop, even if it took integrating him with Laxi to do so. AND THEN THEY ALL DIED TO LET EUDEN LIVE AND MASCULA SHUT HIMSELF OUT OF GRIEF NOOOOOOOO.
• "Caitiff", thanks Harle I learned a new word today
• so many traps in a blatant move to pare down the party
• Oh hey I think it's that same soldier from the last chapter who talked to Valyx, good on him for doing the right thing.
• Yeah Laxi with Eden mode is definitely the new Gala adventurer
• ...boooooooooo what a copout with Beren sucking up Morsayati so they don't have to do possessed!Euden booooooooooooooooooooooo.
• So Beren... is part of a Big Bad Ensemble now?? Is that the direction they're going for?? Also the Agito were instructed to protect the Auspex?? By the original Euden??
• Cygames please introduce a max dismantle button for the love of god so I can actually get the materials I need to fill these stupid boss endeavors faster
• also wow the AI is exceptionally stupid with avoiding Volk's hitboxes, but leaving it on auto was fine even if I missed out on the last bit of Wyrmite by using revives :|
• And Zethia got kidnapped AGAIN. But hey at least Euden has Zena now.
• ...sorry original Euden, you're too ugly for me to ever love you. This North Grastaea hype better pay off, I wanna see Noelle in the main story!

Zethias dialogue makes me think this is how things played out in the original timeline too. The way she isn't surprised Beren absorbed Morsayati and instead trying to reason with him that this will obviously backfire, or her not actually saying anything about the timeline changing is what makes me believe this is the case.

But I didn't expect Real Euden to be the leader of Agito. Him having his own Psycho Rangers now seems obvious in hindsight.

Also I think he's cute in a evil edgelord way but Euden is obviously the victor in this situation.

I think his forehead (way too much of it) and that stupid tattoo is what really ruined the look for me.

I really hope they're going for the "oops Phares was being too self-assured in KNOWLEDGDE and it's all gone pear-shaped" path because otherwise Beren's arrival really seems like a piddling fart of a plot point.

also I guess Harle's on his way to continue being a lackey... somewhere, I was kinda confused if he was gonna work with the Agito or someone else.

We know the Illian Church is their own faction and that includes the Archangels.

Also when his eyes sheink makes Harle look creepy as hell. Much more than Beren ever did.

Well, the new adventurer story confirms that Beren’s interference is unique to this timeline. Whatever is up with that guy, it’s unique within the multiverse, it seems.

Interesting in that they kinda ignore Dragalia while talking about gacha games with Loads And Loads Of Characters. Dunno if this means Cygames/Nintendo might take it to the Switch to see if the IP has further legs beyond gacha.

It's not that they ignore it so much as it is that Dragalia is kind of the odd duck among Nintendo mobile games. As the article says, Nintendo's plan was for their mobile games to make a casual audience interested in buying a console with the "full version" of the game they're enjoying on their phones.

Dragalia Lost is an original IP, people interested in it wouldn't buy a Switch for the console version, because it doesn't exist. The game goes against Nintendo's goal for mobile, but it's also what most people expected when thinking of a high quality phone game from a Nintendo-Cygames collaboration.

You know, I could see a console version of Dragalia Lost working out. If not a port of the mobile game, I think there's enough to the gameplay that they could make something like a Diablo-lite, with multiple classes and equippable skills and what have you. It would make a fine downloadable title, at least :)

i think it's really interesting how Euden making a """heroic""" sacrifice to save Zethia ended up literally destroying their world. I really hope he gets called out for literally almost destroying the world despite everyone saying it's a bad idea.

Or probably not, given how Euden is the player stand in and you cant go around and DARE criticize the player. Granted, it's not like we had any control over that.

I really wish they'd give us an option to change the Prince's name to Euden for the sake of story and cutscenes.

Almost as much as Elisanne deciding bloodline matters more for legitimacy thab moral character, that she gives True Euden Zethia, and this is after denouncing the idea the Church made about The Other being related to Illia, of which her and Gala Alex sidestories make clear their relationship is much, much greater than that and an Auspex wa snearly executed for learning the truth untul Azazel saved her.

tbh I never got the impression that Elisanne immediately folded and was like "yep you can have Zethia" the moment Agito!Euden showed up, my first reading was that she was intimidated into it.

It is dumb that Elly was all about about "muh legit bloodline" even though that seems to go against all her development so far.

They should've put more effort to integrate the Gala versions that aren't Euden and slightly Ranzal into the main campaign :/.

Inb 4 they haven't "developed" into their Gala versions yet.

And they'd been pretty clear for awhile that she's not as good about that as she appears. Its why Harle told her, because he knows enough about people to know their reactions will make then do things they should know better.

Much like he pulled no punches on the whole he knows Phares is just using Beren.

Had to delete the reddit app to fit the latest update... Probably for the best, but Dragalia's becoming a bit of a data hog.

I spent 200 stamina before I realized the Sweet Retreat's max level didn't go up.

Minimal mode and you can delete story/even data in batches now.

I did so and got back 1.13 gb.

I did the delete story data thing. Dragalia Lost was using 1.1 GB, like Christ.

That was an interesting story, even though it did feel like a more corny version of Gremlins.

The Enka singer is working for Abe no Seimei is a plot twist I did not expect.

Welp, there are loads of places I would expect to see a Gremlins homage and I'll tell ya, a Japanese anime-style gacha franchise is not one of those places.

The new agito weapons are yucky. I mean, critical rate, seriously?
