The events story implies it comes before the first one since now they explain Otherworld Fragments. Not!Sandalphon is also involved.

After a few sessions of this, i learned to walk past the boss as the opening move to avoid the initial claw swipe.

Now the next question is, after shattering all the orbs, is the attack still unavoidable damage? The dragon seems to be up by then though, so that seems to be the move that soaks the damage.

Finally, the huge purple AOE... i barely have time to reach the edge for that. Is there a trick to that, like having the entire party bust up the arm quickly so that it will have a blind spot in the middle..?

Yeah, as far as I can tell its unavoidable. It's not exactly big damage, though.

The more orbs the more power most likely.

Also yes taking out the claw comes first as it has its own unavoidable attack. Like Lava Turtles Tail.

I heard this raid is easier than the first. How true would you guys say that is and are people still treating teams with low Might negatively like they did for the first?

More teams are leveled up, the orbs don't have the ridiculous HP of the mini-Volcanoes, etc. So its much more tolerable. Having players who dont die in one hit also helps.

No, the raid is definately harder, even the might requirements are higher. It's just that more people had time to prepare, and a lot of people that rerolled in the beginning has Ezelith a fire 5 star due to her being on the launch banner, so more people have a stronger fire team compared to the first raid event.

There are also mandatory minimum Might values now.

People are still elitist a-holes in higher settings, though. I have seen hosts disconnect from expert Hypnos with any team below 8k. It also happenened to me because the event Wyrmprint, of course, has terrible might, bringing my team score down.

I have the event wyrmprint on my lead and 3 dragon meter wyrmprints on everyone else because they help the entire raid. My might is quite low.

I got 3 event wyrmprints, one each on my damage dealers, and “give me your wounded” plus Phoenix on Verica. Only reached 9k through some mana circle investment on Melsa and Euden.

In terms of continuity, this feels like it was written so you didn't have to play the last one to understand Underworld Fragments, and I expect this will remain the case in the future to avoid Continuity Lockout.

So uh, is it just me or is this raid a hell of a lot easier than the last? The boss level feels easier (no "path barred by flaming walls that will continue to damage you over time if you get impatient"), as the patch notes state, the party AI is more aggressive during the raid and a better source of DPS than last time, and the boss itself is much smaller, so getting to the weak spots is easier and you're not having to constantly run after the limbs every time it turns.

I knew Hypnos would be Sylvia and I honestly felt awful given the Body Horror of the design. For what initially started as what felt like a silly adventure with quirky characters, I'm kinda surprised how big a Tear Jerker I often find it.

I already have Sylvia. Wow. I sure lucked out.

I think a major difference from the last raid is Luca is here this time, so the explanation for the Otherworld Fragments is for his benefit.

Also, considering Melsa has a French accent and her village surrendered immediately, I couldn't help but think of Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys.

I'm sure every raid will be written as if the player hasn't heard of them. It's probably meaningless to try to read a timeline into it.

Ah no if its consistent with events like Granblue theyll have events that take place all over the place timelinewise.

They've already released several events this year alone in Granblue that take place near the beginning of the first story arc when they are currently on the third/fourth.

So they'll explain them once at most or during the main story eventually.

Yeah. Heck, this event probably takes place past where we are now since Sarisse is living in the Halidom.

Also, on another note: I was on Team Euden/Elisanne, but now Naveed might be giving her a run for her money.

Elisanne/Vanessa imo. They confess their love for each other in Vanessa's story.

Okay, it's settled then. Euden/Naveed, Elly/Vanessa, Rodrigo/Cleo, and Luca and Ranzal can just go do whatever.

I'm back into the game. You guys got any thoughts on the new wyrmprints, adventurers and dragons in general? And is the story updated yet?

Wyrmprints are actually 100% irrelevant so far because every single event has introduced a new event wyrmprint which is mandatory, and the hardest content in the game (High Midgardsormr) also requires its own special wyrmprint that you buy in the shop after grinding Onslaughts. So basically there is no situation in the game where you would care about any of the gacha wyrmprints. Unless things change, you might as well sell them all right now for all it matters (don't do that, things might change).

They are useful for the ones that give an ailment Res. I have to deal with folks who don't attack Hypnos claw despite having an unblockable attack and inflicting sleep.

Pretty sure you'd still be better off dealing 35% more damage to the boss at all times. Perhaps you'd even be able to kill the claw on your own.

Edit: Wait, the event print has Sleep resist on it anyway so what are you even talking about?

Actually there are some prints that are good and should be saved. Anything with Dragon Prep, basically. This is because due to some weird quirk of the programming, they apply to the entire raid. So if you have 3 A.I.s equipped with Dragon Prep prints, everyone in the raid starts with 24%. And if all four players do that, everyone starts with 96%. That's 96% of a double-full dragon meter, so that's almost two dragons right off the bat.

So even if you sell everything else, save those.

OmegaRadiance Since: Jun, 2011

There's still a decent chance of getting inflicted with sleep. Only once out of being hit by it a good twenty fights did it not inflict sleep.

They go and attack the main body or the wings instead of taking that claw out.
