If you just wanna get the battle over with and cheese it real cheaply, Dr. Wily can easily be beaten with Lucas - just spam his side B and use down B to heal from the shots, equipping a "Metal Killer" spirit (Viridi and possibly a few others) is also useful. I barely even use Lucas and cleared it in one try when trying this

Good to know. That was the only spirit I've outright skipped so far because it seemed damn-near impossible. I'll take any method I can get. 
It's a Sakurai game. I find it very hard to believe that there's no boss rush.

If you pick Galeem and Dharkon path, right before you face them you have to defeat three orbs from each side one at a time.
There are three light orbs (Giga Bowser, Rathalos and Galleom) and three shadow orbs (Ganon, Marx and Dracula)

Add in a new true final boss above Galeem and Darkhon, like Galeem Soul or Darkhon Soul, or something.

Apparently Joker's stage is planned to be Mementos and has a cameo appearance by Jack Frost. And on top of that, it says that another Smash DLC character is Erdick, with an Alefgard stage. Obviously take with a grain of salt because it involves Square Enix again, but the post also mentions a Granblue fighting game in the works that was just announced today, so...

I don't think Erdick will go over well if this is true. DQ isn't super big outside of Japan, and there's enough outcry for other Square characters that the international audience could feel betrayed.

I don't think DQ's popularity would be a huge issue to the non-Japanese audience (I'm confident that most people are at least aware of the series and how long it's been around), I think the bigger problem would be Sugiyama.

A Square Enix rep through DLC wouldn't surprise me though.
It especially wouldn't surprise me if getting a reserved DLC slot was Square Enix's condition for allowing Cloud Strife to make it to the base roster.
