Flashback: Wu & Azure

If Wu didn't feel like she should have thought a little before speaking, the flaming sword's edge near her throat sure gave her some pause. But she gave her word, and she was in no position to back off anyway. She tried her hardest to quell her panic (and Semblance), adding surprise to that list as all Azure seemed to do was place a hand on her chest for a little while. Then, just a bit of incredulity as Azure suddenly stopped and had a fit of evil-ish laughter. Stupid, maybe. Not her team, sure, but she was here to aid anyone and anything. No matter what.

Azure seemed much less angry now, so that's certainly good. She mentioned something about her father probably liking her though. Wu was just a bit curious.

"Wait, what about your dad? And him liking me? What's that mean?"

Survival course, something's up

And it's just the usual again. Not that it was not essential, just that repetition gets boring eventually. And stories of the hunters before them - eh, hit or miss. More often miss, actually. Wu took instant notice of Port's signal to stand by, though. It's either a test, or an actual danger - both of which do demand attention. Perhaps just a bit too eager, Wu swiftly dropped to one knee and poised her hands to swipe Enbu from their holsters on her hip.

Flashback: Azure and Wu

Azure purred a little as Wu followed her orders. "Good girl, Puppy." She said, enjoying the mental image. As she turned and began to walk she heard the question.

She paused and, taking a deep breath as she once more approached Wu.

"My father loves fools." She said, "especially those with the courage to back their words up. You might be a dumb mutt, but you've got guts and honor. That counts for something." She smiled, patting her thigh. "Heel!"

The Beach

Azure nearly doubled over laughing at the drone. "Well Capitan?" She called mockingly.

Then she recieved her orders, "Captain," Azure butted in, she froze; Oh the pleasure of combat, the andrenaline, her semblance allowing her to defeat groups of foes...and possibly lose. She hated it, true. But she was a fragile thing.

"I agree with Owl. But, I..." She grimaced and spat out the rest of the sentence. "Gimmedefensesowecanwin." She mumbled at Scarlet before speaking slowly and reluctantly: "I can see...longer and, might take a bit, but I will sense the enemy team...Call outs."

Survival Course

Nadia had been shooting concerned glances to the dog faunus ever since she had rejoined them, but recognized now was probably not the time to address issues. Putting that time aside would only result in more lethal variants.

Still, though – she patted Wu on the shoulder at one point, shooting her a tired-yet-reassuring smile. If she couldn't fully talk it out with her in a situation like this, she could at least provide a bit of comfort in some other way.

Port's warning caught her eye, however, snapping her out of her inner concerns – and she followed suit on preparing her weapons like Wu was; slipping on her bulky-looking mechanical gauntlets and experimentally extending and retracting her shooty-wire-thingies to test that the mechanisms were still indeed working. Since the tiny devices were quite literally glued on separately, they weren't exactly the most reliable functions in her arsenal. But at least they did work – even if the ratio was a solid 70/30.

Ah well. Hopefully they wouldn't be encountering any sheer cliffs. It was an odd predicament where one would feel more comfortable facing a horde of Grimm than a simple ravine, but it was the boat she was riding in for whatever reason. Weird how things worked out.

"If we don't get noticed, we might not even need too much firepower. Talonclaw's not just a musket, ya know. It's also a spear."

Auolish showed everyone Talonclaw's spear form.

"A balance between our offense and defense is what counts. Don't wanna overextend in either direction," she mumbled.

Survival course

Adrian followed Port into the wilderness with a frown on his face, keeping an eye on the surroundings as he listened to the Professor's chatter. On occasion, he would chip in a word or two to answer the odd question. Quickly snapping to attention when Port gave the 'stand-by' signal, Adrian's hand drifted to Altair's handle as he kept his ears- both human and horse- on alert for danger.

The Beach

Scarlet shot Azure an evil looking grin. "You sure about that buckethead? That would mean actually working with me instead of challenging me." She teased. "And yes Auolish, I'm aware we need to strike a balance."

"So it seems to me our current plan is Azure and myself on defense and Auolish and Marvin on offense. Is everyone alright with that or do we have something else we need to consider?"

"That's fine wit' me."

Auolish shouldered Talonclaw in musket form.

"Now, are we goin' or not?"

Roggy, Has Trouble Following Directions

There was no greater feeling than watching a Grimm cower or plead. In some regards, they were like wild animals, but somehow less and more intelligent at the same time. One of the Murdermeleons reached him, leaping towards him, but he merely replied by seizing the Grimm mid-flight, laughing as it squirmed to free itself and bite him at the same time. Emptying his other revolver into the other charging Grimm, his hand slowly tightened on the thrashing Murdermeleon before letting go once a dry CRACK resounded through space and the body went limp.

Enough fun for now. "Unruly, these children..." He muttered as he holstered the other revolver and threw his hand forward. From the palm grew a pillar of energy, its shape not quite definite, but resembling of a bullwhip. Without further ado, Rogaedyn swung at the wall of Murdermeleons trying to obstruct them, hoping to bowl some of the Grimm out of the way.

Flashback: Azure and Wu

At Azure's commanding words, Wu leapt from her place behind Azure and came to a standstill to her right. Only when she followed Azure's pace then her mind caught up with her instincts.

"C-Come on, I ain't dumb! I just don't think a lot is all~" She smirked toward the blindfolded girl to indicate her lack of hard feelings. "And what you call guts and honour..."

Wu turned her eyes back in front of her.

"There was...this one time I didn't do anything when someone needed it most, really needed it most. Which is why I have to help others whenever I can. I can't afford to be a bystander anymore. I can't allow anyone to suffer."

FLASHBACK: AZURE AND WU

Azure looked at Wu, a faint smile on her lips when the dog followed her orders. This may have felt weird, but part of it made her happy. She opened her mouth, closed it and then opened it again.

"It's...hard to stand by nowadays, isn't it?" She asked, quietly adjusting her helmet. "sometimes, everyone else makes you want to stand bny and watch the world go..." She looked at Wu again before sighing.

"Don't offer yourself up for a beating if it's not what you really want, alright?"

THE BEACH

"If I accidentally knock your teeth in, I'm not apologizing." Azure informed her captain walking over to stand on the rocks to scan once more, looking for the enemy team.

Flashback: Azure and Wu

Azure's sudden (apparent) concern took Wu a bit by surprise. The same person who caused a scene with her abrasiveness acting like this. Wu pursed her lips for a moment before her reply.

"Don't worry about that. I know what I get myself into...most of the time. Like that one time I took another route home..."

Somewhere in her little tale of how she simply strolled into an active construction site, Wu sort of realised how she was already contradicting her assurance, but just rolled with it for a while.

"...a-anyway, I know how to handle myself when something unexpected like that pops up, but thanks for the concern."

FLASHBACK: AZURE AND WU

"Puppy...Let's talk after training." Azure said quietly, "Don't you dare tell anyone what I've told you. understood?" She asked, waiting for a response before sprinting off to join her team.

Flashback: Azure and Wu

"Your secret's safe with me," Wu replied, giving a little wink. She would just continue to stroll back, satisfied in the good that she did, but wondered just a bit about how long it'll be until she somehow leaks it. She really could see herself just letting it slip during a random conversation.

The Beach

"Yeah, yeah, I'm aware of strategies involving my semblance, Auolish." The snake faunus said with a shake of his head as he rolled one of his shoulders, trying to loosen up. Marvin's eyes scanned across the tree line as he did his best to get his heart and breathing into a steady rhythm. "Right, a snake and a bird on offense. I'll go low, you go high?" He asked the other faunus as he turned to look to her.

Beach

Scarlet nodded. "Alright, sounds like we have a plan. Well you've all got your marching orders and we're burning daylight. Don't let me slow you down." She said, grabbing the flag and sticking it in the hiding spot.

The redhead looked around the rocks,uttering to herself soundlessly before pull her chain off her waist and throwing it out in a wide arc from where the flag was, the weapon wrapping around several anchor points to form a rough pentagon around the area. Scarlet held the handle of the chain.

"Hurry up, I don't like our odds split up."

"Gotcha. I'll be quiet too."

Auolish readied Talonclaw and did as Marvin said, treading lightly.

Beach

Marvin nodded as he finally got his breathing into that rhythm he was searching for, his eyes closing briefly before he he quickly took off towards the treeline, his foot steps mostly silent as he lanced forward, his profile low as he moved.
