I was thinking the same thing.
In the comics, Jade didn't need a ring or lantern. She had internalized G.L. powers due to being Alan Scott (Golden Age Green Lantern's) daughter. They might be simplifying things and giving her the ring in this continuity, since as far as I know, there's not much difference between her and an actual GL power wise.
One Strip! One Strip!I hope they go full Starman with Shade.
Stargirl: Prepare to fight, Shade!
Shade: Why?

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Tonight we see season 2 episode 1. Don't know how I should feel since last season.
Well I watched it. There are plots happening. Zeek is a The Thing That Would Not Leave. That's about the most noticeable thing I saw that isn't a carry over from last season.
Finished the new episode. What does Cindy want with Mike?! Is Mike gonna get possessed by Eclipso?!
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Episode 1 and I'm already hyped. Cindy ripping up Henry's picture was just cruel

By now, it should be clear to all except the most dense of us that sheep are secretly conspiring to kill us all and steal our pants.Well Cindy, looks like you bit off mare than you can chew, eh?
Jennie is nice, I like her.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!So....
Seems I was a little off on things. Jennie doesn't really need the ring. It's appears that due to her natural connection to the Starheart (Alan Scott's GL power) she's the one recharging it. Whether she'll keep using the Ring or not is unknown right now, but they'll probably go for accuracy and have her not use it.
One Strip! One Strip! You know, when your first reaction to finding out that a dangerous supervillain has arrived in your town is to squeal in joy maybe you should recheck your priorities.
So we finally meet The Thunderbolt himself. Also The Shade is setting himself up as a wildcard in this season.
So much for Mikey Thunder, but now we have Jakeem Thunder, just like we're supposed to. I wonder if Mike'll be a bit jealous when they meet.
One Strip! One Strip!I mean this episode was sort of about Mike maturing as a result of befriending The Thunderbolt so I think it'd be a bit weird and out of character if he got angry that the pen ended up in someone else's hands.
Poor Mike can't catch a break, can he? Wonder if he'll get a second chance.

Okay, so my guesses: The Chuck we're hearing from the goggles now isn't the AI, but the actual Chuck's ghost. Chuck might have been killed by Eclipso somehow, not the Shade (maybe Eclipso possessing the Shade, like he did Cindy?), and is back now because Eclipso is back. Shade, in his ambiguous way, is here to deal with Eclipso, but naturally is unable to work with people productively.
I tell you, it's kind of refreshing to have a superhero show where something happens and instead of the characters scrambling for an entire episode trying to figure out what the thing is, there's a character with experience who isn't keeping secrets for no reason that can just tell us all what's going on and get the plot moving immediately.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I was really worried these two were going to be killed off by the new Fiddler in revenge for his mother's death, but thankfully no! Sportsmaster and Tigress have been promoted to series regulars for S3.
Yeah, I agree there. It really makes Pat look competent, and moves on to other sources of conflict.
My AO3So I think most of us knew already how Sportsmaster and Tigress weren't that bad of parents to Artemis. But I had no idea how awful everyone else can be in Blue Valley. Shade continues to prove his wild card Anti-Villain status, Eclipso continues to be the most dangerous character on the show with Cyndy/Shiv being number 2, and Dr. Midnight may have been saved by Shade instead of killed. Also if Sportsmaster had a problem with Shade's ascots and British energy, and Shade had a problem with Sportsmaster's cleats, what other pet peeves did the ISA members have for each other that didn't make them kill each other? And why would Henry have still killed them for it?
And after a discussion of how it's good that Pat isn't keeping secrets, here he is keeping secrets about Eclipso.
One Strip! One Strip!CWed.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!
I think it's Jenny Lynne Hayden a.k.a Jade.
