Yay! Another thread coming from me. This time, I want to made this thread after seeing the P Vs of it. And here's the plot of the anime in a nutshell courtesy of MAL:

"Set in modern day London, the story takes place in a world where "Shadows" are born from human fear and anxiety. A young girl arrives to study abroad, only to be caught in a bizarre incident as she enters university. In a city with no acquaintances, the helpless girl wanders into "Café Forbidden," a mysterious café that exclusively opens at midnight. She meets an assortment of handsome men employed at the café, where guardians who protect the boundary between humans and shadow convene."

I actually going to look forward to this anime. Many people said that it has a little bit of a Death Parade feel on it. Though I haven't watch the anime, Phantom in the Twilight also gave me the D-Gray Man vibe tbh...But regardless, I'll be looking forward to this and while it won't be popular. I hope it's at least going to be a decent flick.

I can see where the Death Parade comparisons are coming from, but to be honest, I don't really like this one that much. It feels a bit too much like a basic shoujo series with all the cute boys that have similar artstyles and too little like anything else for me. It lacks substance and focus, I think. But, it also feels to me like that's something that's going to draw other people in than me, so maybe it's just a personal taste thing. I'm not planning to follow it, myself.

[up] Hmmmm... I see where you coming from. although it won't be popular and won't be a good show. I might just going to follow it until the end and I'm actually cool if this show could ended up improving themselves so yeah...Might be there's either room for improving or maybe not... I'm going to look the first episode after college BTW ^_^

Oh, it definitely has room to grow, don't worry about that. The show is not without it's good points. It does sound like it can be a fun watch and improve quite a bit. It's just not my personal kind of thing, which is why I'm not interested in following it.

[up] I agree with that. And yeah, I'm cool if you don't find the show appealing to you due to its not your type of thing...Which is fine. Everyone has their own preferences.

Just watched the first episode...Hmmm, I don't know what to say. One character does remind me of a guy from a game that I played called Alchemist Code and there is also the guy who has a character design almost similar to Gilgamesh from Fate series. And yeah, not only that, The female MC design almost reminded me of the girl from Classroom of the Elite and her friend is almost reminds me of Hitomi from Hinamatsuri but with brown hair instead I guess. And have to admit this almost come from a shoujo/reverse harem visual novel I guess. Though even then, I'm looking forward to this anime and I felt that it still has a room to improve. I do really find the music interesting though.

And just watched the second episode:

Huh, I didn't expected that Bayrou remembers pretty quickly even though Vlad erases her memory. But it's rather understandable since she's a descendant from her mysterious grandma after all. And a new character huh? Interesting

Watched the third episode:

Not surprised that Chris and Luke were brothers judging by the opening. However, Chris still does have a humanizing moments such as him being nice to Shinyao even though she kidnapped her. And now I'm wondering on which Umbra destroyed the village...Speaking of Umbra, More stories regarding Bayrou's Great Grandma. As apparently she wants the world of Umbra and Humans coexist together peacefully.

And just watched the 4th episode:

Nice, we got to see Toryu, the Chinese vampire getting a focus though and we also saw some of his flashback...Needlees to say, it wasn't pretty happy but glad that Rijan calms him down. And I was surprised that Van Helsing created him. Also, would be interested to see what will happen with Chris and Shinyao in the future.

Just saw the 5th episode:

Man, that was a tragic love story between an Umbra and a human. Needless to say, their love ended up being bitersweet at best...You know, like Your Lie in April.

Episode 8:

Ngl, it has a bit of a slower pace for the first half which is understandable since Ton needs a bit of a recovery from the last fight. Also, seems that the next episode will be the fight against Haysin so yeah...

Late Episode 10 thoughts:

Seems that Ton's teams are ready for the final battle. And seems that people who capture Shinyao experimented on her. Although I like her new appearance, poor Shinyao though.

Episode 11:

Huh... Its interesting that Helsing is taking into action in the final showdown. As for showdown, I like Shinyao evil side design but I cant help but feel bad for her.

Final Episode:

And now the winner of the fight is Ton and glad that Shinyao is saved and most of the guys had a happy ending (With a few exception of course). And it was revealed that Haysin has a nasty crime on his belt and glad that guy died by getting killed by a mysterious child...Which it turns out to be Baileu Ton's aunt...Rijan. That was unexpected and Helsing is still alive so yeah...Not only that, seems that also Chris gained his own happiness and travel across the world.

Final thoughts: It's an alright show at the end. Not the best, but not the worst either though one of the best parts in the show is that at least Baileu tries to become a decent protagonist. That and the relationship with Shinyao and Chris could also be considered as one of the highlights of the show. So yeah...
