Interesting news in regards to Fallout 76 over here in Australia:

Had no idea that was even going on, to be honest.
No new horror stories.

Many A True Nerd did a deep dive into the Atom store and broke down how it's progressed since the start. He doesn't get emotional, he just lays it out and it's every bit as condemning, no, scratch that, far more condemning of the game than any hate fueled rant could be. Because it's based on and backed up by FACTS rather than rhetoric.
Why does it concern you how emotional people get about criticizing this game? More importantly, why are you assuming they ca't still be correct about their points?
Embedding for the sake of it.
Mind you, MATN is a huge fan of the Fallout franchise, and there are still some moments where his hopes for the franchise shine through, like him hoping that Wastelanders will somehow bring the game back and make it popular enough for a release on Steam to bring back the game's fanbase, which is... really overestimating the current state of the game. He also tends to err on the side of optimism and idealism, like believing that Fallout First was all about rewarding already existing players, not just cashing from the remaining people willing to give money for a shady deal. But he still makes a really good analysis all around.
I like that bit where Jon mentioned the Shop offering an item to help fix a problem Bethesda themselves created. Really captures the state of the game in a nutshell.
Matt did a follow-up Wha Happun vid on Fallout 76:
He not only goes over the Fallout 76 shenanigans of the past year, he also starts off by providing info about 76's development that helps explain why Fallout 76 was...Fallout 76.
Disgusted, but not surprisedFallout 76 finally gets NPCS!
No not the wastelander update. Hackers added them in.
Is it financially unfeasible to just shut this service down and start over? They can't still be making money or good reputation off of this game.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!That means accepting that they did something wrong, which I do not see happening any time soon.
That said, this is historical in its own way, I have never seen before a single game capable of ruining the reputation -and possibly future- of a studio.
I mean there’s Daikatana but that was just John Romero.

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.I await the launch of Wastelanders with bathed breath.
Watch it end up being canceled....
Watch SymphogearLooking at the content that is planned for Wastelanders, it really feels like this is what the game should have been from the start. It's good on them that they actually delayed it when they thought they needed more time to get it done right.
Maybe this will turn out to be another A Realm Reborn?
Disgusted, but not surprisedThis game is unsafe to play.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So now not only Bethesda can rob you, but other player as well?
They should really just take the game offline for a few months to get everything working and implemented. Worked for FFXIV
The amount of time and resources they put into XIV is insane, I dont think beth has the amount of people and actual skill to fix this one.
The actual dev team on XIV are actually really good, they just had a lack of direction and every department was doing their own thing. Then Yoshi-P is an absolutely insane project manager who played the competition then figured out what he wanted and how he wanted to do it... which the devs pulled off.
Then convinced the execs to choose the long term more expensive option AND the 'make it functional' option at the same time by essentially making two teams instead of one. One team for patch content (of 1.X but then later 2.X and so on.) and one team for expansion content with him helming both as director and producer...
I think I love this game.
Over a year down the road, and it's still giving us so much content! To laugh at, yeah, but that's still more than any other live service has given me since they were invented.
We're all Watchdogs NP Cs
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youAnyone expects yet another crash in New Years? Maybe the servers rebooting your character and your purchases?
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.New years, I don't know. You'd expect Bethesda to have learned from the last one, so it'll probably crash the exact same way again.
Wastelanders is what I'm really expecting. The bugs out of that will be legendary.
Uh...
Over 500 Fallout 76 players have had their (EDIT) inventories (EDIT) stolen... (reddit link)

Did wee talk about this last week? If not, we need to talk about it this week.
It also turns out that the worlds are not being created new but are instead recycled instances that have already been used for the normal version of the game, so some are full of dead enemies or have long ago been looted of anything useful. No doubt Bethesda will be looking to redress these issues soon enough, but they’re not the only new bugs in the game.
Some have found that the unlimited scrapbox doesn’t actually work and that when you try to store scrap in it, it all just disappears. And it doesn’t even come back if you quit and log back in. Fallout 76 was already infamous for the volume and seriousness of its bugs but that was when it was just a standalone game. Having to pay an expensive subscription just to discover even more problems is probably not what most fans were hoping for – even if they secretly expected it.
The ride never ends, it starts back up when you try to get off.
