Uh... question. Who's Oxhorn?
I've generally found that if one set of information is telling you what you want to believe and another set of information is telling you what you don't want to believe...you should give the latter more consideration.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI see... I'll just quote M84's signature and leave it at that.
Total random thought:
Anyone else think that the next Fallout game (whenever it gets made) ought to use Edwin Starr's "War" in a trailer or something?
...Or has that already been done for a Fallout game?
Disgusted, but not surprisedIsn't it IF it gets made, at this point?
Optimism is a duty. What can I say, I'm an optimist.
Disgusted, but not surprisedWhy wouldn't it? Fallout is second only to Elder Scrolls for Bethesda isn't it?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youPeople fear that 76 might be a Franchise Killer, especially since we know that Beth is working on two other big games before the next Fallout.
I doubt it. 76 is a side game reverse engineered from the previous installment's assets. I'd say the bulk of Fallout players haven't even played it. In another six years we'll probably get a new proper installment
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI'm holding onto the vain hope that Bethesda will allow another developer to make the next game to get the heat off them.
The bulk of Fallout players haven't played it, but the bulk of the industry has heard of it, continuously, for months, and none of what they heard was good. Maybe those two big titles between 76 and the next Fallout game will serve as a cooling off period, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that this game tanked, or at least greatly damaged, the franchise.
Fallout New Vegas and 4 greatly eclipsed 76. 76 may be infamous, but is only infamous as a single member of a larger trend of poor business practice in the gaming industry. After some time, Fallout's legacy will outlive 76's infamy I think
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI have little doubt that the damage has already been done. This game was a disaster on the level of Sim City, and that series has not recovered from it.
Optimism is a duty. This is an online multiplayer spinoff. Not a main series game.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI'm sure Bethesda doesn't want to do that, they know New Vegas is generally considered a much better game than 4.

Oissu!I've heard that Fallout 76 has done much better (at least financially) than the Internet Backlash the game has received would imply. This makes sense to me as I suspect a lot of the criticism of the game comes from what is actually a Periphery Hatedom alienated by the idea of a multiplayer-only Fallout game. In other words, what its critics hate about it are what others might consider a selling point.
Also worth noting is that many of the games actual failings are due to it being a multiplayer-only game. The next Fallout game won't be a multiplayer-only game like Fallout 76 was, meaning that even if F76 is considered an abject failure, it'd for reasons completely unrelated to the Fallout series as a whole.
It would be like cancelling all Mario Games because Luigi's Mansion failed, it just makes no sense.

"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"Defending Fallout 76? That's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off.
I missed the part where that's my problem. What happened is that it managed to gain a large base initially but it is struggling to get new people and more and more of its base is not playing anymore.
When the business model relies on people buying micro transactions that is a problem.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI'm hoping they realize that and decide to use it to cover their asses.

@FGHIK Who's Cotton?
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"The terrible PR is half the reason people shit on 76. If the next Fallout game avoids every last mistake made for this game's post launch reception it'll be fine.
Yeah, while there might be a group of fans who were just dead set on hating it, it's a simple fact that Fallout 76 has been a string of failures from the company. The initial sales figures show people were willing to give it a try.
Hell, there was a fan willing to play the game for 900 hours. And Bethesda caned his account over it. You can't make this stuff up, a huge part of the game's backlash was on them.
I understand the hesitance, but It's not like you only have his word to go on. The guy makes sure to have tangible evidence, like screenshots of Oxhorn's misdeeds.
