Its Ansem that doesn't use the Guardian in III because the only time you fight him is after Terra takes control again (Well outside cutscenes anyway), Terranort's desperation attack is summoning the Guardian in his fight however.

He does use it in cutscenes, though.

Terranort just kind of dropped dead on me, so didn't know he still used the Guardian.

What are the fucking rules here.

instead of time travelling terra's heartless has been travelling in a linear line until he could posess himself at the furthest point in the future

You do fight Ansem briefly during the Xigbar/Repliku fight, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't use the Guardian then even though that's before Terranort.

he lost his guardian privileges.

Terra being the Guardian is dumb anyway.

Like, gdi, we just reintroduced the Lingering Will and then he drops out of the plot like most things.

That's purely a matter of implentation, not concept, I feel. It's been foreshadowed since Birth by Sleep, after all.

There was a video literally showing all Foreshadowing of him being Guardian over a year ago.

imo the only two things that needed work with the "Terra is the Guardian" twist is to explain wtf happened to Lingering Will (even just patching in the armour broken up in the edge of the arena would do), and the logistics of time travel

Obviously Ansem needs to regain his Guardian once he travels back in time, otherwise he would've never used it against Sora in KH 1

Ansem travels back to just before he dies. Same for Xemnas.

I'm just glad I never once thought about Terra being the Guardian. It seems like one of those twits that's either obvious or not, so falling on the side of not made it more enjoyable to me.

I always thought the Guardian was leader of the heartless alongside Ansem the seeker of darkness

The problem is that it feels like we're creating a new character... to fulfill the same function of a character we already established ages ago. And I like Lingering Will better. And he causes a lot less confusion when it comes to this time travel bullshit that makes no sense.

TERRA IS A TIME-TRAVELER HERE! HOW DOES HE NOT HAVE TO GO BACK?! WHERE IS TERRA'S BODY IN THE PRESENT ANYWAY?!

They can't even follow their own goddamn convoluted rules.

Terra's body is new, and his Heart and Soul only needs to go back in time after he dies.

So it works in that sense. Just not the Guardian stuff.

How though? Like, first off, Xehenort should look like Terra-nort in this game PERIOD. End of story. That was the entire point to stealing Terra's body in the first place.

Second, since he isn't and we have this 'Everyone is a time-traveling heart from before', then what is Terra now? A heart in a replica? His heart in his old body? If so, How does it not have to go back in time???

Third, if Master Xehenort has his old body back and Terra-Nort is just a replica... Where IS Terra's Body right now then???

It doesn't make sense.

Whatever is going on with Terra-Xehanort likely can be he's Terra's body recompleted, but Xehsnort hijack him in the present. Terra's heart remains in his body/ Ansem SOD heartless bod, and was forced to "SUBMIT!" to their control. After TX appears Ansem even stops using Guardian, because he can't exist in the present if Guardian Time Travel Ansem.

That's why Vexen, Isa vanished, and why Riku Replica 1 mentions Riku being in the present as proof Riku Replica II was not him.

Essentially implying they were both recompleted separately and Xehanort hijacked him again immediately afterwards. Since he figured out how to shove himself in people without needing to put his entire heart in them.

Terranort was the real Xehanort, and Old Man Xehanort was another time-displaced heart in a replica. Since Xehanort wasn't planning on getting kicked out of Terra's body, Old Man Xehanort had to take over as lead Xehanort after that happened.

I thought they said, multiple times, that Master Xehanort and Terranort both recompleted in the present.

That’s how critical mode works in 2, so of course it would be the same in the next mainline game.

I just realized, in most of Kingdom Hearts openings they sure enjoy showing Xemnas getting beam-stabbed a lot.

I mean, dealing regular proud damage would be fine too lol, everything dies too quickly in this.

Wasn't 2's damage a 1.25x multiplier? It was 0.2 that had the x2 one.

I'm @ Monstropolis and the Unversed might actually be more poorly designed than they were in BBS. Which is honestly impressive.

Like, the fat ones that can just, instantly do that slam slap combo out of nowhere. Continuously.

Still wish we get a NG+ option

I like taking and dealing double damage. Far batter than BBS's horrible Cherry Tapping spree if you went level 1.
