Of course there's always the chance that Black Widow coming back happens in her movie.
This song needs more love.God I hate to be prematurely nitpicky but these spoilers don't sound good to me if they're true. I mean don't get me wrong there's some pretty hype moments but then there's just a lot of things that don't make any sense.
So, are all MCU movies just going to take place in thw not too distant future, now?

Hey wait a second, how the heck are they gonna get back Vision for the show?
So, just came out of the movie and its like 4 am for me. So, just a hot take:
Yes, spoilers are slightly inaccurate but basically true. Movie introduces some time-travel shenanigans and does a heavy dose of fridgelogic and hand-waving around the subject.
One of the main subplots also kinda falls flat for me.
Besides these two detriments this movie is still great in my opinion, cause it absolutely nails its high points and it really comes through as the capstone/ending for the MCU up to this Point.
I'll post more once I've slept.
Thats disappointing if the case. Though I figured the rest of the movie would ve awesome despite these though.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Just got out of the movie.
I thought they did an excellent job capping off the MCU.
I suppose the EDIT second spoiler would work so I'll edit it in later.
No post credits scenes by the way.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobYeah, the time travel was really consistent, up until it kind of fell apart in the last scene.
unless i missed something, theres still about 4 major differences in an alternate reality created by the time travel - Lokis on the run, Strike team now think Cap is Hydra, Malekith never got his hands on the Aether and died at Asgard, and the Guardians never formed.
Middle two dont matter that much, Strike Team could have just thought they got duped by Loki, there is a series for the first, but that last one seems like a problem.

The film has an RT approval rating of 97% from 89 reviews.
I wonder if the general audience will reflect this, or if we'll see another Last Jedi situation.

So, may I ask for confirmation on the spoilers?
Which ones? You mean the ones on the last page?
All 100% correct
Forgot to mention, I think my favourite consequence of this film is the five year age gap between two halves of the population. I really hope they do something with it in Far From Home. Especially since it means half of Peters classmates should be aged out.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobA time travel plot really "sigh"
I'm thinking that Far From Home will have a frame story that takes place after Endgame with Peter telling the plot of the main movie (which is before Infinity War) to a therapist or something.
This song needs more love.On a scale of mundane confusion to Kingdom Hearts level of confusion, what exactly are we looking at?
Is it wrong I want Luis to dub over that?
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here? It's not really that confusing, its a three hour movie after all. And The Ancient One explains the way time travel works in this universe pretty succinctly. People have been saying online stuff in the movie invalidates it, but honestly I didn't pay /that/ close attention to the precise mechanics, so I'm waiting for others more detail concerned than me to go over it once the film is out everywhere (The US).
It also hit me that Loki escaping with the Space Stone post Avengers is going to see an explosion in fanfic.
I used to read MCU fanfic around the post Avengers time, and from what I recall Loki has a massive amount of focus at that point in time. I'm not sure how much that's changed, but still I bet there will be a resurgence.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobIt all works, right up until that last scene, which breaks the rules entirely. They talk about it being separate timelines that don't feed into one another, but then, Cap goes back, and somehow, he's still in the same timeline, he just lived in it for 70 years.
This film is going to be very interesting. I plan to see it this Friday, actually. Oh, and R.I.P. Tony Stark, your nightmare is finally over.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Maybe this is how Doctor Doom has an "in" to the MCU. Let's assume at some point Steve bumps into him and he uses his time machine. After all, the doom locks have something to do with ensuring you function in or alter your own timestream and not create a divergent reality
So, as promised, heres my longer take on the movie fter sleeping for 4 hours and now having some headaches that are totally worth it:
Lets start with the stuff that people are worried about in this thread:
So. If you had given me a descriptions of the movie beforehand with the main points (like the one on the last page), I would have probably thought that this movie would be mediocre. But just let me tell you, it isn't. Like, at all. I mean, I am a nitpicky person and time-travel stuff is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. And lets face it: the movie has some holes in its explanations of the mechanics and hand waves some stuff as well. But just in my personal opinion, the movie gets away with it, because the pay-off to those hand-waves is just so good. The MCU and its characters have so much build up good-will, so much history, that I'm willing to put my critical brain aside for a moment and just go "Yes. Thats how it should be."
Like, its hard to explain, but the main handwave comes at the end with Steve going back to put the stones at the timepoints of their disappearance and then growing old in the regular way. And if you Fridge Logic it, yeah, there are problems. But its not good to describe in text, but if you see the scene, you really can't help but to think that this man, this character just deserves this and that this is okay.
Just let me tell you this. If you ever want to see a movie for which the emotional and character beats are just _so perfect_ that you can just accept of suspension of disbeleif you normally wouldn't, this is it. Don't be discouraged from reading stuff. Go, watch it. It's so worth it.
And heres another thing or two I didn't like about the movie, just to get it out of the way: So, Thors story for the first two acts. I thought it dragged at times. The jokes didn't quite land for me and I felt it was overdone before they even got to Asgard. Its something that was a cool moment, but not as much a good arc for the character.
In the same vein, the Asgard group (Thor and Rocket going after the Aether) as a whole didn't really work well for me. Also, I feel like Hawkeyes Ronin transformation kinda was a bit pointless because he very much gets back to his original personality relatively soon into act 2. Had wished for just a bit more there.
So, now heres all the gushing and praising and what I liked:
First of all: Ant Man and Hulk hit it out of the park in this one. Like, seriously. They were not part of the OG 6 and they just fit it in so well. The balance of seriousness and fun. The actors really seem to enjoy themselves so much here. Professor hulk is the best Hulk we had so far. The scene in New York where he tries to imitate his old self by healf-heartedly clapping a car and throwing a Motorcycle is total gold.
Then, all the call-backs and cameos: Thors mum. Valkyrie and Korg in New Asgard. The Hydra guys. Like, the tease to get a remake of the elevator fight.....so good. Cap saying Hail hydra. Uh. Alexander Pierce. Mostly small roles, but so so nice as a nod to have them there. Special shout-out to the ancient one. Shes just such a badass, such a font of knowledge (and exposition) throughtout. I love her.
The vormir scene. Or, more precisely the foreboding before it. Clint and Natasha start to Vormir and you _know_ what will await them there. And it just clenches you so hard. And Johanson and Renner hit that out of the park so much up there. And widows shot like Gamoras shot in IW. For me, this sequence starts the final act of the film and it doesn't stop from there.
Speaking of the final act: That scene where Steve is alone with Thanos for a bit and it all gets bleak and he just stands up, ready to continue...and then all the portals open, and all of them come. The ones that came back from being dusted. Every friend the Avengers ever had. Oh. Just so perfect. And that Avengers Assemble line. And the portal being bright orange, bringing light and hope back into the scene. And all of them clashing with Thanos Forces.
Generally, the action in that last long big ass fight sequence. it is epic, I don't think it is the best action sequence in comic book movie history and I firmly beleive it will stay as that for a long, long time. Its a spectacle, yes. Most of it is very fast and maybe slightly on the shallow side because its so packed, but it is EPIC!
Also, give a smalls hout-out to the girls. They punch above their weight throughout. The scene where all the female heroes assemble to help Captain Marvel break through to the Van, ooooh is that epic. And Captain Marvel destroying the Dark Aster? Fuck those guys who complain about her power-level, this is super-man style domination right here and I never knew I needed that so badly.
And lets talk a bit about Thanos as well. He is the ultimate villain, still. Death didn't stop him from coming back. And you know, if its all the heroes of the MCU against you. And you can still be a beleivable threat? Where everyone is worried you may kill some of them before going down. When through all of this you manage to fight them of and still win in every timeline except one? You deserve every cred you get. And after the snap he watches his army fall to dust, he watches Maw dust before his eyes. He just sits down and accepts it. No fury. No sadness. No malice. But acceptance while he turns. Its just so fitting. Upright till the end.
And speaking of endings. Tony going through with the sacrifice this time, that he didn't quite need to make in the first Avengers. Him being finally at peace, free from his nightmares from Ao U. So perfect. Cap getting this dance and getting to live out his time. Thor giving up Asgard and going into space to find his own destiny with the Guardians? Widow sacrificing herself for the world? Renner going back to his family after redeeming himself through hope? Hulk being a scientist. I think all of them were handled superbly.
You know, how some movies are good movies, because they have some weaker elements and some great moments while great movies are mostly just great throughout? This is a rare example of a great movie that has some problems, but that just knocks its peaks so far out of the park that you just can't help but acknowledge it.
It also is a fitting ending to the infinity saga, and thats something I have mad respect for. Not every story sticks its landing and this does it.
This will be the only spoiler-based question I'll ask here before I see the movie in two days: was the Captain Marvel mid-credits scene inserted into this film or not?
So how will this movie affects present and future marvel shows?
Place your past in a book burn the pages let them cook.
There is. And of course, now there is going to be another GOTG movie, not to mention a likely Thor 4 and a Loki tv show. But I wonder if those things were greenlit afterward and thus not planned out in the Endgame script.
