Well I have the same problems every now and then with my 2DS. Maybe the game consoles isn't capable of sending an certain message to the site?

As I said, it hasn't happened since so it probably an issue with the site's cookies - if you just visit the site, it tags you, but once you log in, you "belong" or something. I can't speak for the 3DS /2DS browser, since it's naturally different than the PS 4's.
