Wario Ware Gold proves to me Charles Martinet can perform really well if given complete sentences to work with. So I have zero problems with anyone in the movie having full voice acting. In fact, I hope it will prove to Nintendo they can give it a chance in their games.
Charles Martinet isn't going to live forever either. It'd be sad if he was never given a proper chance to get fully in character as Mario this way.
I remember hearing Martinet has answered questions as Mario at events for kids too, through a monitor with Mario on the screen.

Mario talking in full sentences isn't weird...neither is him speaking for a lengthy amount of time.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I mean, Charles Martinet can actually act. He's done a few roles that require delivering his lines with proper weight and emotion behind them.
I trust with the right direction he can deliver full dialogue with Mario without it coming across as hokey.
Jeez...no one ever looks for the right stuff.
A full thing of Mario talking, it's the most recent example. There are 2 others but they're so old.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I think the one who'd sound very weird would be Bowser. They could just give him a more normal-sounding voice, I guess, but it's weird in itself to hear Bowser speak like a normal guy outside of the RPG's where he does voice grunts.
It's been 3000 years…I watch a lot of Dorkly so I'm used to the idea of Bowser talking normally.
...assuming he has a British accent.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?... there. We get basically what I imagine Mario in Wreck-It Ralph 2 to be like.
We've never had Bowser talking in his gruff voice, right? His Sunshine voice was much softer.
Well jeezums, Mario vs. DK has more clips of Mario talking than I was originally aware of.
It's seeing stuff like this is why I'm confused about people saying Mario no talk much.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.And before that she talked in Mario RPG.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"So I have a theory as to why SEGA allowed Sonic to appear in Ralph Breaks The Internet and not any Nintendo characters.
By now two Sonic posters of the upcoming movie revealed he's getting the "realistic" design overhaul because much of the movie is in live-action, but Illumination's Mario movie is going to be totally animated. I think Universal didn't want a cartoony version of Mario appearing in a cartoony film by a rival company, but SEGA knew their new version of Sonic for his film wouldn't ever be mistaken for the one in Ralph.
Well, since Mario is getting an animated movie soon. I wonder if Sonic will one day down the line get an animated big budget movie.
..... um. He IS. It's just that it's gonna be a live-action hybrid.
When do you guys think we will get new info? Admittedly 2022 is still ways off.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Do we know anything? Because, at least within a year we should know director and begin to announce the cast, at least.
Wake me up at your own risk. This is a bit overdue, but a rumor suggests that the filmmakers are drawing upon the Super Mario Adventures comic to devise a plot for the film.
"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherI recall reading that a while back, but I hesitated to bring it up here.
I want to be surprised, but Illumination usually going for cheap, forgettable laughs doesn't fill me with much confidence...
I hope it doesn’t suck. If nothing else, this’ll probably be the best Mario movie.
It's been 3000 years…Why would you phrase it like that?
Being the best of 3 movies isn't anything praiseworthy.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Can't be worse then the Live action movie in all honesty
New theme music also a boxThere were 3 movies?
There's this and the live action film. What's the third movie?
I did like the Super Mario Adventure Comics (specifically I have the main story + the one with Wario trying to kill Mario). It could work for a Movie, but I was expecting them to at least try something new.
If that's a movie then there must more than 3. I remember another short film based on a Japanese folktale involving a baby inside a peach (in this case Mario), who gets raised by an elderly Hammer Bro. couple and goes off to save their daughter Peach from Bowser who plays an evil witch or something with the koopalings having cameos.
I didn't find Peach talking in full sentences all that jarring mostly because the first Mario game I ever played was Super Mario 64.
