Bradbury Heights
Megapolis was the sort of city where strange things happened often and without precedence.
It was also the sort of city where things that really should have been stopped ages ago also happened often.
Case in point, there was a bunch of super-villains who were attacking a rich neighborhood. There were a lot of reasons why said specific situation shouldn’t have been happening, including common sense; you would think that a rich neighborhood like Bradbury Heights would have better security measures. Not to mention super-powered guards.
Which was why Snowblind was annoyed that, on his day off, something like this had to happen. He wouldn’t necessarily call himself vain, but even he liked to occasionally have a day to preen himself. Scales didn’t clean themselves, after all.
Still, a job was a job. He might not have been one of those officially sanctioned heroes, but he couldn’t just let people get robbed without doing something.
Currently in his draconic form, Snowblind swooped down and landed on one of the many tall buildings in Bradbury, tail lashing. Perched there, the rather large dragon studied the villains currently robbing things from afar.
After all, it was important to know whether there was any civilians in the area, how powerful the attackers were… details were vital when it came to this kind of thing.
Especially when you were twenty feet long, nearly twenty-three feet long, and weighed over two tons. People tended to get hurt when you didn’t take precautions.
Wooze looks at Glass with a 'please take her away' look
In the morning light, the woman known as Sister Strigoi walked the streets of Willow Grove.
She wasn’t wearing her usual full habit. Instead, she was clad in a heavy black coat over a floor-length black dress, a small golden crucifix around her neck. She looked like a normal, albeit somewhat odd woman: skin tinted blue-gray, not visibly breathing, movements slightly stiffer than that of a person.
She stopped in front of a house and knocked on the door.
“Hello, Mrs. Kelly. Father Gutierrez sent me for grief counseling. He said you haven’t left your home since your son went missing.”
She adopted a sympathetic expression, careful not to show any teeth.
“May I come in?”
The four superhumans did not appear to be robbing anything- they were just wrecking everything in their surroundings.
Then they look up, and see the dragon- but they look more puzzled than scared. They exchange glances, but don't speak. Then they adopt defensive stances, but do not yet attack.
(Descriptions: its three men and one woman- One man is huge, another glows with energy, the third wears a cloak. The woman carries katanas.)

Alex exited the nearby hardware store, straining to carry several bags of miscellaneous parts and devices. His scrawny form meant that he was forced to half crab-walk along the street, hood up to avoid making embarrassing eye contact with any pedestrians.
Also to hide his neon blue hair, but he was well aware that was a worthless effort. His hair was way too long and spiky to fit under his hood anyway.
The strain eventually became too much for him, and he heaved the bags onto a nearby bench to rest, panting heavily from exhaustion. He sat there for a short while, before a loud thud from atop a nearby building startled him.
He jumped up, shielding his eyes from the sun with his hand as he looked up at the source. Of course, it couldn't be anything normal, like a construction accident. No, it was a full-blown dragon.
Huh.
To be honest, it was Megapolis. The term "normal" became obsolete decades ago.
It seemed to be staring at something, and he tore his gaze away from it to pinpoint its focus of interest.
Upon seeing it, he reacted with a mixture of frustration and terror. Supervillains. Four of them. All of them looked tough. But most importantly, he would have to leave his stuff behind.
Sighing heavily, he stuffed the bags out of sight, and, after making sure his hood was secure, began to edge his way closer to the supervillains, hoping to get near enough to be ready to act without being suspicious.

Unfortunately stealth was not the boy's forte.
Noticing his odd hair, the caped man approached him and grabbed him in a rough manner, and demanded "are you a Super?" in a strangely monotone voice.

Snowblind's head swiveled towards the newcomer who had foolishly gotten himself caught, sighing.
He had blue hair, a hood, and not a lot of sense. At least, it certainly seemed like that to the dragon, since the idiot had literally just walked up to a bunch of super-villains.
Launching himself off the building, the white dragon swooped downwards. Tail lashing, Snowblind grabbed the foolish civilian with one claw, wrapping him in the equivalent of a secure steel cage.
Soaring upwards with a beat of his powerful wings, the dragon twisted in midair, before landing a short distance away.
Setting the blue-haired fool down next to him, tail curled protectively around the kid, Snowblind glared at the super-villains. "Get out of here as soon as possible," Snowblind murmured to the guy he'd just rescued.
"Call the police. Hell, call the government. But before you do any of that, run. I'll handle this for now."
With that, the dragon lunged for the caped man, trying to grab him in his powerful claws!
And he succeeded! Bringing him up in the air, Snowblind slammed him down into the concrete, cracking it with the force of the blow, roaring triumphantly!

Ko Yu-Na was walking across the street in Megapolis, Bradbury Heights. It was a rich and peaceful neighbourhood. Well, not as of now, since four supervillains were causing mayhem for apparently no reason. These might be her first problem she's dealing with since going independent. Excitement and worry coexisted in Yu-Na's mind.
The girl wore a red hood and barged in on the scene. She already saw a dragon man battling the caped one. Others were energy based super, the huge brute and katana wielder. The newbie hero decided to shoot the enegy super with her Wraith Blast.
"Stop what you're doing!" She said to four villains.

Everything that lives is designed to end.
Alejandro looks down at his watch and sigh. He was supposed to meet Aaron for breakfast. Oh well, he'll understand. He quickly glances around, and, after deciding that nobody was acknowledging him, runs into an alley to change and destroy his bag.
Emerging from the other side of the alley with his costume on -and with another backpack down the drain- Chroma heads to Willow Grove, where he sees an oddly pale nun talking to a woman inside a doorway. Chroma had heard stories and rumors of a nun matching that description, so, after taking a quick glance over his shoulder, he approaches to investigate.
Being crushed down hurt the caped man. Damage 12, has 88 points left.
The Katana-wielding woman jumped at the dragon and hit him with his sword! However, her blade slid off his scales!
Suddenly the Dragon felt an invisible force trying to crush him! But it, too, failed to get through his defenses.
The Red-Hooded girl's blast did hit its target, but the glowing man just shook off its effects! Not only that but he blasted her back, hurting her badly! 55 points of Damage, she has 45 Hits left.
The large man then jumped at the dragon and punched it- hard enough to actually cause it some pain! 10 points of damage, he has 90 left

Alex yelped as he was picked up by the villain, staring wide-eyed at him.
"Uh... I-I..."
Thankfully for him, he felt himself be grasped from behind, yelling again as he was flown up and away by the dragon he had spotted earlier. He gave an attempt to wriggle free, but soon realised that even if he did escape, his thrusters might not break his fall.
And he didn't particularly want to be floor-paste today.
Dazed from his flight, he didn't register the dragon's words, and could only watch in silent awe as the dragon slammed the massive villain into the ground, cracking the concrete like it was... like it was... like it was a sledgehammer to his grandmother's rock-hard pie pastry.
...He was starting to question the results of his IQ test.
He was shaken out of his distracting thoughts by the arrival of a small girl in a red hood (although to be fair, she wasn't that much shorter than him, so he wasn't one to talk.) She promptly began to fire some sort of blast at the energy guy, to which she was immediately struck back. Hard.
He winced, and made to check on her, but was soon distracted by the massive kerfuffle happening soon after, involving the arrival of another super and many sudden attacks. Desperately, he aimed his hand towards the fast sword wielder, deciding not to get involved in the dragon's incredibly brutal looking fight, and attempted to fire a bolt of electricity at her.

Tell Me, Have You Seen the Yellow Sign?
Matten had had a front row seat—well walking tour—to the demolition for for a while. You could catch everything after a short stroll. In this case, 4 rowdy characters were making a rather amusing run through Bradbury Heights. They probably have insurance. Matten would do something about it, eventually. Just, she would watch the show a bit longer.
Naturally, that's when a dragon—of all things showed up. Her entertainment stopped dead in their tracks, and stared. Matten did not know what of that convinced the hooded wonder to play hero, but he did kind of well. Sure, he got grabbed, but he wasn't paste.
Matten stopped cold, after watching the newcomers, and watched half-hidden behind some rubble. She wouldn't be too long. Who would miss this fight? Red Riding Hood there was certainly having fun. But, Matten had to come up with the perfect entrance. And probably find a stick or something to help the hooded wonder boy up, next time he was knocked down.

Before than ancient goddess could do anything thought, the sword-wielding woman -whom she could swear was somewhere else- suddenly appeared in front of her in a blur, and took a swing at her with her katana! Super Speed 3, allows 2 Panels per page
But if she expected the goddess to be hit so easily, she was in for a surprise, as the smaller female just blocked it with a flick of a hand! Martial Arts Mastery, Defensive style, 18 vs 21

Matten couldn't help grinning at the newcomer. "Is this your way of inviting me then? Glad to play with you." Still, this rather overdressed version of Taki had pulled back before Matten could grip her in turn.
"Wow. You're so fast!" Matten noted the obvious. An obvious fact that was rather important given Matten's need to catch Taki here to deal with her. "I have introduce myself to your friends, but you came to meet me first, so..."
Matten's Khvarenah Phantasm quickly flared up as the Div advanced straight towards Taki.

Suddenly, the goddess' dark aura grew, becoming a 50' tall, solid shadow around her. Then she charged at the swordswoman, who could not move out of the way in time- she got sideswiped! Trample Linked to Growing: +15 to Brawn damage, 21 points; Defense roll 25, reduces Area Effect damage by half, = 11 points, she has 89 Hits left.
The blue-haired boy also attempted to hit the Asian warrior, but she was too fast. Attack 24, Defense 55

Willow Grove
"Oh thank you for coming Sister!" the middle-aged woman. "Only the Grace of God can save my son from- The Curse!"
"Eliza!" a male voice suddenly said. A middle-aged man emerged from the kitchen, looking rather alarmed. He almost ran over to the entrance. "Please! I told you, not to say such things to strangers!" He grabbed her by one arm, and she allowed herself to be walked over to a couch, where she sat down.
The man then returned to the entrance. "My apologies, Sister. Our son's disappearance has affected my wife. Her mind is grasping at straws. Even silly old legends. Sorry to have wasted your time. But she'll be over it. In time."
But there was a tone in his voice- and eyes- that more than sincere, felt scared.
Emily: Decide what you do here. You can further attempt to interrogate the Kelly's, or investigate around Willow Grove, specially rumors about the Curse.
Also, with his costume on Chroma is going to stand out in the neighborhood. Surely Sister Strigoi noticed him. You two decide how you interact.

“I see,” Sister Strigoi said. “Perhaps I can come back later. Unless you would prefer now?”
As much as she wanted to ask more questions, it seemed like the Kellys weren’t in the mood for it. Mrs. Kelly’s invitation would still stand later.
A young, rather gaudily dressed young man was watching her. Sister Strigoi smiled at him.
“Good morning,” she said conversationally. “I don’t suppose you know anything about a curse?”
Chroma takes a second to examine the nun. She's definitely too pale. He frowns under his bandanna, and says:
"Curses are't really my forte, to be honest. I don't know much more than anyone else whose played Dungeons & Dragons before. Finding people, though, that's something I can do. Are you here to do the same, or are you just consoling the lady?" and nods towards the house.
Where am I? What's going on?
Ugh. Of course there were already civilian heroes here. That was fine if they could hold their own, but there was only about a 50% chance of that, with the other 50% being that they’d get in Aurelia’s way. Especially since she recognized Matten among them, who according to the reports was an utter psycho.
From what she’d observed so far, the glowing villain seemed the most dangerous, so from her vantage point behind a nearby car she directed one of her bubbles toward him and detonated it behind his back, while hopefully remaining out of sight.

Red Riding Hood's attack did not work. Instead, she got hit back by energy villain's attack. As this was a powerful attack, the new hero collapsed on the floor. Yu-Na did suspect that he would be powerful, but she did not expect such heavy resistance. "I may have acted too recklessly" she thought to herself. "I can't do anything else right now. I have to heal right now."
Her decision was to heal herself.

By focusing the mystical forces of her body, the red-hooded girl healed partially. Healing 3, 24 points healed, has 69 Hits now.
Meanwhile, the white dragon felt the invisible force once more. This time however, it tried to pry his claw open, to force him to release his prisoner! It fails, however. Brawn contest, 54 vs 24

The agile mermaid manages to slither near the Blaster unnoticed. Stealth roll at default, 10 Diffculty.
However, he gets to act before she can blast him! Priority 2 vs 1
He decides to once again attack the hooded stranger. His blast seems unavoidable... Attack 24, Defense 18
-But suddenly, a massive white claw comes in between the ray and its target! The dragon saved the girl, although he was stung by the blast! Quick-Thinking: Allows a free Interrupt Action, but no Defense. Damage 40, -Soak 38 = 2 damage. Snowblind has 88 Hits left. He also earns a Hero Point for his selfless sacrifice.

The mermaid's bubble flew silently and unnoticed- and who would care about a bubble drifting anyway? And then, just as it was near the Glowing Man-
BOOM!
It exploded with such force that he was thrown several feet away. Luckily he was agile enough to avoid taking full damage. Special Attack with Burst Area, Damage 40, Defense roll 30, reduces damage by 1/3 = 14 points of damage, he has 86 left.
meanwhile, the large man ran over to the Dragon again, but this time he did not attack. Instead, he tried to pry the mighty beast's claws open to release his ally... but failed as well. Brawn Contest: 30 vs 12
Meanwhile, the Martial Artist assessed the situation. So far, she had failed to hurt both the dragon and the goddess. So she changed targets. She took at the blue-haired boy, who cowered behind the dragon's claw and tried to hit him!
However, amazingly, despite her skill, she ended up hitting the claw- and once again, did no damage! Attack 15 vs 12, Damage 24, Soak 58

Snowblind had winced slightly when he'd gotten hit protecting the injured super, but it was worth it, as she was alright. The big villain had tried to pull his comrade from his grip, of course, but the dragon had simply ignored him.
Glancing around , Snowblind noticed a few newcomers. For one, there was a lady who looked like she knew what she was doing, as well as a mermaid. Perhaps he would have been surprised had this not been Megapolis, and had he not been a dragon. Stranger things had happened, and did with alarming regularity.
Ignoring the squirms of his captive, Sniwblind paused for a moment and deliberated as he decided what to do.
And suddenly, with a roar of fury, Snowblind swung the caped man around before trying to bash him against the ground!

".....WaaaaaaKE UP, AMERICA! Its your favorite radio shock-jock, Brad Fisk, and his Zoo-Crew! Here to help you get up and ready to work, while also keeping you up to date on all those juicy news bits! Joe, what's up first?"
(sounds of papers rusting) "Err, it seems Megapolis Police are investigating another missing person case in Willow Grove."
"Oh man! You couldn't pay me to live there!"
"Oh come on Brad, don't tell me you believe that urban legend!"
"Joe, ever since people moved there in the 90's, at least one person every year goes missing. That cannot be a coincidence!"
Suddenly, Joe's phone beeped, and he picked it up. "Brad, Brad!!"
"What is it??"
"Four unidentified supervillains are attacking Bradbury Heights!"
"Ooh ho ho! The rich folks there are not going to like that! They think that only happens to the rest of us y'know!"
PLAYERS: You can either attack the villains, or investigate the missing persons case. Both plots will run concurrently if needed.
