I worry for the size of its initial roster, video game based on anime/manga properties have this strict rule of having content based solely on what the anime had shown, or is very close like a month away at most of showing; just like the devs of this game itself, Cyber Connect 2, did with the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series by daring to debut Naruto Kyuubi Cloak mode a few weeks before the anime showed, and in the 4th game it went all the way to end of the series with Kaguya slightly before the anime caught up.
I feel that the roster will keep itself limited to Season 1 characters and said characters had in terms of moves (no advanced stuff, nor any Hashira that didnβt show anything yet), with the Mugen Train as DLC, at the worst of expectations.
The best of expectations would be the game going all the way to the end of the Red-Light District arc, to coincide with 2nd Season, without any of it being held back behind a DLC wall, although in current times that is somewhat unrealistic.
There's been quite a few arena fighters based off of popular anime entries of very varying degrees of quality. Hopefully they put in the effort.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I think it'd be weird if they didn't include the mugen train stuff. The movie's been out for a while.
I would wager 2 at most in the base game, a 3rd as well if the game does end up covering RLD.
- Tanjiro base - Water Breathing only (as the gameplay reveal already shows)
- Tanjiro Hinokami Kagura - Very basic fire attacks, with only Dance as his ultimate.
- Tanjiro Hinokami Kagura (Mark manifested) - If RLD is covered, then they can show Tanjiro going batshit crazy against Daki and Gyutaro, with more than Dance as his Hinokami Kagura attack, and his Mark powers.
Zenitsu and Inosuke could have variations as well if RLD is covered, Zenitsu for one debuts his Eight-Fold and Godspeed in the arc.
Is there a spoiler policy for these games? I'd rather they just give everyone their end-of-series abilities. It's not like there's much power escalation in Kn Y outside of Muzan.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.well the Storm games eventually had to finish the story before the anime did I believe, so it's possible that they adapt the whole story and release Kimetsu Xenoverse
Secret SignatureIt is an unwritten rule for all licensed anime games out there, they base themselves on the anime adaptation, even if the source manga / light novel / visual novel contain events, characters, abilities set further than what the anime has shown.
What happened in the Ninja Storm games was different, CyberConnect 2 showed events and character forms that were literally a month away from appearing in the anime, and the game omitted several key aspects in order to differentiate itself from the source, Narutoβs Kyuubi Cloak for example, it debuted in Storm Generations without any context whatsoever, it was simply an plot-less unlockable, it was Ninja Storm 3 that gave it a story to it since the anime had already covered it by then.
Demon Slayerβs anime is without a doubt a good few years away from adapting the Infinity Fortress arc.

It depends on how long season 2 is gonna be. If it's 2 cour, then it could very well end with season 3 next year.
Season 2 is very likely one cour, thatβs why it is still being released this year. This time it has an official subtitle - Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Red-Light District Chapter).
Stretching out the material so the gold keeps flowing, I see.
You'd think eventually every single household would have 5 copies of each volume.
Secret SignatureThe final arc could very well be 2 cours by itself.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If the goose keeps laying golden eggs, why stop it? You just know the final battle is going to movie.
Can't think of one.Isn't it too long for that?
I'm pretty sure they mean just the Muzan battle itself, which IS long but as a fight I think it's pretty easy to shorten in animation.
"Tentacles wiggling around all over the place" is also probably easier to make look good in animation.
...There's a very obvious joke here, but I'm going to let it go.
On the movie — is there anyplace to watch it officially yet? It's been out a long time in Japan, and I've really been looking forward to it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Not set date on when it is going air in the west yet, nor a official date when the japanese home release is gonna drop either, Blu Rays for anime movies usually come out 4 to 6 months after it hit the theaters, the japanese home release will likely be released soon.
If they want to keep making money off of this franchise, I hope that when they're done covering the main manga they also start animate Kimetsu Gakuen. There should be enough material for at least an one cour anime by then.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.ufotable is already animating the Academy verse though, during Season 1 it was through post-episode shorts; going strictly by what Gotoge has given, there isn't that much to cover since Gotoge has mostly presented the Academy as small text blurbs, with only 3 or so actual dedicated short manga chapters throughout the manga series run.
Even with animated shorts ufotable is actually expanding on what Gotoge has presented, the latest Academy animation was shown in the same stream that revealed Season 2 on valentines, is was the short based on the actual dedicated manga chapter contained in Flower of Happines, the animated short was 3 parts long shown at separate intervals, totalling 6 minutes, the longest short by far yet, it shows more scenes than the original manga chapter had.
The only way to make a full dedicated Academy/Gakuen verse anime is for ufotable to either go full original content or Gotoge comes back to actually do a full dedicated manga with full stories so ufotable could cash on it.
Kimetsu no Yaiba author Koyoharu Gotouge has been selected for the 2021's TIME 100 Next list.

E.T technically is a Isekai movieFate heaven's feel final movie's blu ray will be released on 31st March. Kimetsu will probably be on April or May.

First western screenings for the Mugen Train movie are about to happen; there is a push for the movie to be a eligible candidate for the Oscars so in the US the movie will be screened on Miami theaters starting February 26th, for a limited time of 1 week. In Australia and New Zealand the movie will start its course on February 25th.
Hinokami Kepputan is bascially the Ultimate Ninja Storm series with the Demon Slayer cast.
Right down Tanjiro' OG Sensei (Who was voiced by Jiraiya) being the announcer for the bouts.
Couldn't be any happier myself.
