Ynea's ears twitched. There was definitely something in the tunnels here with her.. From the sound, it seemed pretty big. Unless there was just an echo making it sound louder.

... Caution was probably a good idea either way. Ynea looked around for somewhere she might be able to hide and wait for whatever was there to pass by.

Evald

Evald found that the tools of his ancestor's were quite useful as he dashes through the freshly fallen snow at great speed... the act of skying coming to him as natural as walking. It was a good thing for he had to go through a whole lot of terrain... and as he zipped by from time to time he spotted movement here and there that was concerning... a mound of snow that could have been a great beast at least five times his size moved slightly as he zipped by and he also spotted some sort of big, bird like creatures in a pack chasing after a four legged, deer like creature. Eventually though, the snow began to end as the temperature broke... and he'd be forced to stop his skying as he came to the general area of the rocky hills on which his tablet told him Aerys would be found.

Aelrys

Aelrys's pulse quickened as the creatures began to screech... an inhuman, high pitched sound that sounded like the unholy union between howl and scream. The other figures, three of them adding up to four with the one that already jumped at him surrendered caution and hiding as they now rushed fast towards him... Yet his flight was his saving grace as he saw the furred, misshapen things leap trying to get to him, swinging their uneven arms and claws furiously, incessantly, screeching all the while, frantic, their motions twitchy and unpredictable.

Whatever they were, they were wrong. Beyond wrong. He felt as if his gift of flight would be the only thing keeping him alive in this situation... and as he bore his wand, his intent to hurt them, the magic flowed to him easily and naturally... as by spending some of his energy he produced a a bead of light to shoot out at the one that had jumped him... hitting him and bursting like a small, twinkling star... dropping him off midjump into a heap of pain, fur singed and a bit of black blood coming out. Yet it was still alive and soon would join his allies again, all four crashing and bumbling into one another, each right underneath him, trying to climb onto the other, push the other away for the sheer chance to try and rip him with their claws.

This was bad... he was safe, at this height the wind wouldn't blow him lower and he could maintain his flight to remain safe... but he knew that was the one thing keep him safe here. While he fought, his tablet let out a little sound which he could barely hear through the screeching...the sound of a new message from Evald.

Ikaika

Ikaika managed to climb the cliffs... from that position he would be able to see with ease his cove, the place where his ruins lay hidden under the waters... and beyond it, the wider ocean. He'd see that across the jungle there were a couple other similar coves at the edge of the ocean which was the direction from which the Mugen sign had come before it vanished... roughly. Beyond that and his cliffs though he could see mountains further inland quite a walk away... however, in that direction and before them, he'd see a tower... a big, tall and imposing tower in the distance.

Ynea

Ynea decided to play it safe and wait for a while to see if whatever makes these tunnels its home would pass her by... if the sound would go away. Unfortunately, it didn't quite do that... the noise remained, though after a while it steadied itself, as if it had stuck to one location. The more time she spent, the more she pin pointed it... making sure there were some tunnels that would lead to it... and others that wouldn't.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

Evald frowned as he came to drier, rockier ground. It wasn't just that he would make slower progress but that the smooth, swift movement of skiing seemed so right. Mindful of the predators he had passed he unslung the crossbow and readied it then put the skis back on his back, checked the tablet for Aelrys' position and headed in that direction.

Aelrys - Under Attack

Fluttering rapidly to keep himself out of the monsters grasp, he cursed and fiddled with his tablet.

Be careful, there are monsters roaming this land. Wolf-things with nasty looks. I'll try to draw them away, towards the forest. Keep your wits about you.

Re-clasping the tablet to his belt he began flying towards the woods, shooting a few more magical blasts at the things as he did, aiming for their necks and heads. He stayed high enough that he was out of their grasp. Hopefully there'd be something tall enough for him to rest on without worrying about being caught by the monsters.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

When the tablet buzzed Evald looked at it and messaged back, Thank you for the warning, Am armed and will be prepared.

Cliff > Moving Towards the Tower

Ikaika breathed in the clear mountain air and exhaled, readying himself to continue a journey to an obvious mark of civilization and an even better vantage point over the land. The bird definitely hoped to at least see someone there, he moved towards the tower, it drew him in strongly, its impressive appearance in the distance making him forget resting or eating, almost like it was calling out to him.

As soon as she's pretty sure where the noise is coming from, Ynea darts out of her hiding place as quietly as possible towards a tunnel leading away from it. She keeps one hand ready on her knife, in case whatever it is decides to come chasing her.

Aelrys and Evald

Aelrys' chase would be frantic... and no doubt quite stressful. While he was safe high up in the air, the thing's frantic jumping, scratching and screeching was terrifying in a primal level. These were awful, wrong things that seemed to just hunger to get to him.... and kept chasing, jumping and screaming at him seemingly tirelessly. His magic blasted them and did seem to hurt... though they didn't seem to care, even when one, hit a few too many times simply stopped moving after squirming in the floor in a burnt husk. Yet... the blasts with the wand were sapping at something within him. It was no less tiring to him than swinging a blade would be for a warrior... and keeping aloft was another source of exhaustion for him.

He flied towards the forest... and thankfully, though the going was somewhat long they one by one seemed to give up following him as he approached the place... until finally, getting to one tree the last one breaks away from the chase, crouching down low on the floor and trying to slither, to crawl away in their mockery of animal movement.

For now, he had peace... which was good due to how exhausted he'd be by now. On the other hand... Evald wouldn't be able to see the figures or Aelrys in the distance... though far away and moving towards the forest he'd at least see the flashes of light from the other's magic.

Ikaika

Ikaika set off towards the plains and the tower off into the distance... stepping away from the seaside and deeper inland. The going wasn't too rough and eventually he came upon a grassy plain whose flora reached to a little bit above his knees... he did catch some signs of movement here and there, but the first and biggest sign of life he saw was... a herd of sleek creatures moving off in the distance... quadrupeds of some kind, though he couldn't quite tell from here what they were.

Ynea

Moving away from the sounds of the creature... eventually her dark vision would fizzle a bit as different sorts of colors filled her vision, instinct slowly shifting her eyes away from her capacity to look in the dark to see in the dim light... her nose would catch the scent of fresh air. There was a bit of a tight opening down the tunnel she pursued... but if she forced through, she'd see that she broke into what appeared to be the burrow of some sort of small creature... and beyond... light. The surface.... and the scent of so many flowers.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

Evald matched the flashes of light against the position of Aelrys on the pad and figured that he was the source of them and adjusted his course accordingly, crossbow at the ready.

.. Finally, the light at the end of the tunnel! Literally. Ynea almost tramples over the burrow in her haste to leave, but at the last second stops herself. Hopefully whatever lived here can't track her through the one heavy step she took.

More carefully this time, Ynea makes her way through the burrow towards the exit.

Aelrys sighed in relief as the things scampered off, leaving him alone in the forest. He perched upon a bough, high enough that the things hopefully couldn't reach him on the off chance they came back. Retrieving his tablet, he sent another message to his nearby companions.

Monsters ran off when I entered the forest. Reach me and you should be safe, but be on the lookout. I'll be resting in a tree.

So said, he leaned against the trunk and looked out towards where Evald should be coming from, awaiting the first (hopefully) friendly life he would encounter here.

Grassy Plains Towards the Tower

Ika looked at the sleek quadrupeds in the grass and smiled, at least he knew there was something else alive. Quickly however he took grasp of his knife, he may be happy for more living things near him, but he didn't wanna risk getting harmed right now. He took grasp of his coral knife and moved cautiously ever towards the tower in the distance.
