All this talk about Dorry and Broggy, and dinosaurs… meanwhile I'm chomping at the bit, waiting to see how they do Mr. 3.

No joke, Jacob Romero Gibson here, just… EXUDING Usopp's boundless egomania, reminded me of why I am completely 100% on board with this show. It only ever felt like their top priority was in being as One Piece-ish as humanly possible, with a metric boatload of insanely talented actors coming out into the wood work, breathing life into these wacky, colorful characters. And Usopp lying out his ass as naturally as he breathed, well... that is merely the cherry on top.

E4&E5: Drum Island
E6&7: Alabasta
E8: Luffy vs Crocodile & Epilogue

I do have a small theory that Vivi and Robin did meet once during the 3 day time skip while Luffy was unconscious after the fight with Crocodile, but that's just a theory.

Yeah, I think Robin joining the crew (or rather, being revealed to have stowed away on the ship, joining the crew might be too long) would make a good post-credits scene.

Speaking of which, Matt Owens said in his Hasan stream that he wasnt able to go control the final cut of the final episode at least, because of the writer’s strike. A consequence of that is Usopp losing more scenes. Now that there isnt a strike, I guess he has full control over the final cut.

Ya’ll worried for Pell. But I’m worried for Igaram. Man only has slightly more relevancy than Pell but a few rewrites, Robin can actually kill him

I'm pretty sure Igaram is living. His survival was revealed in the same chapter that Robin saved Luffy from the sand pit and it was revealed Pell survived her breaking his back. Those were three big clues, back-to-back, that Robin wasn't evil. Robin spared Igaram as part of a plan, she probably even left a note for him telling him what to do. He didn't just happen to survive.

I agree, Igaram's death being faked always seemed deliberate from Robin. Pell is absolutely staying dead though if Oda will let them do it.

According to this article, it looks like the second season will begin filming this June in South Africa.

Interview with Matt Owens by Hasan Piker:

Haven't watched it myself, but apparently one of the big points is that Matt Owens couldn't oversee the editing due to the writer's strike, and because of that, the editors cut a lot of Usopp from the last two episodes, including a longer fight against Choo and showing his internal struggle on being brave.

Get Netflix to put out a season DVD and restore the deleted scenes?

To be fair, I think Arlong Park maybe has the worst pacing problems of the season (if the season could've wrangled just one more episode, I think it would've fixed it). And I can understand that edit working to keep the focus on Nami.

I knew Usopp was a bit shafted in the final version but this really shows Matt is awesome and the producers need to trust him.

I know the backstory for what I assume was for the second episode that showed Buggy's issue with Shanks was cut. The actors who played that scene posted pics to show they did do it (including one bigass spoiler)

I can see them reusing those scenes when they show Loguetown. Saves a lot of production time

Oh man, Loguetown's gonna be hype. Loguetown is actually my favorite of the East Blue Arcs, no joke here. I've always adored the lore-building going on, that and witnessing the Straw Hats just... vibing as a united crew for the first time, post-Arlong.

So, while Matt Owens will return as a show runner for the second season, Joe Tracz will take Steve Maeda's place as the co-showrunner. Matt and Steve will still be involved as executive producers.

I dont want to be a doomsayers but I really hope all these newcomers wont change the feel of the show and that it will still be of great quality

Well, Owens is still co-showrunning. And Tracz worked on some good stuff. Have faith, don’t panic, enjoy the ride.

Plus, a lot of new talent in the writers room are more super fans. And I imagine Oda's still going to be hands on with any changes. I'm not scared.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Season 2 is even better and more faithful than Season 1. Not just because the story is much more tightly written so there's less room for improvisation, but also because they've seen the feedback from Season 1, and lots of the little tidbits we've heard from the creators imply they agree with the fans on lots of specific criticisms.

Ya think that means we're gonna get some Usoppmania up in here? Because I'll be honest, I am down for Usoppmania. I'm down for more of those scenes of Usopp coming out, admitting that he's got his goals guiding him forth, like wanting to see Elbaf before his very eyes.

Also let's get some "Zoro gets horribly lost" gags rolling early, evoke more of that goofball energy that pairs him so beautifully well with Luffy. And while I'm at it, let's see Nami vibing with the crew, without that Arlong baggage, let's see her in her groove as a loyal Straw Hat, reining Luffy's crazier habits in.

They do have to prepare Usopp for season 4. You know what thatll be if it reaches that point.

2-3 is what I can say the live action is most “cancellable” (not in a social media way). Not to say they cant prove themselves by next season even more but by the time that fourth season hits, this show will be ironclad invincible. Could easily be up there with pre final seasons GOT and Breaking Bad. Just worried about the time to reach that point for the actors.

It's frustrating because I could tell we had some Usopp edited out of the first season. Like it felt it was filmed but not shown, I didn't need Matt Owens saying so. And then Matt Owens said so.

Then again, I kind of appreciate Matt Owens confirming that. I like that transparency. I like knowing that showrunners for a show like this actually give a shit, and know full well that, yeah, there's gonna be some mistakes made, and they'll need the following seasons to cover those damn holes.
