Midnight breakfast must've been some weird college thing. Probably wasn't actual breakfast, but rather breakfast foods served as a midnight snack.
After finishing unpacking her things, and securing anything she might need to, Dahlia stepped out into the hall, briefly checking to see that she had her phone, parasol, and room key.
Just before she could start wandering off, Dahlia stopped, and then sat on her bed.
"Haven't really heard much about this place until recently. I suppose sky cities must be a more common thing where you're from. Where you from anyway?"

"Oh," she says, "you must be from Earth. No, we don't have any floating cities on Gaia, apart from this one. My sisters say that the mechanisms holding it up are an ancient and secret art, but I'm pretty sure the city itself only came up a couple hundred years ago. I could be wrong, though."

Jacob would raise an eyebrow, before unlocking the door.
After Leona got the key to her room, she nodded at Ava. She seemed nice enough, friendly.
"Thank you, will do. See you in a bit then."
She shifted the straps of her backpack a bit, the clink of metal that was her shield rustling quietly inside. She looked at the key in her hand.
'222 huh? What are the odds of that?
She made her way towards Room 222, before unlocking the door and heading inside and dumping that heavy backpack into a bed, a literal weight off her shoulders.
"Well...home sweet home."
"That sounds about right," said Dahlia, refraining from mentioning where exactly she lived.
Looks like this thing came from some parallel universe, though Gaia sounded like some kind of shitty blog site.
Dahlia didn't know that much about what was going on in the world, as her lack of eyesight lost her a few years of experiencing trends as they came. Now that it was back, the whole world looked like it had gone crazy, and not just because some magic floating school appeared in the sky.
"Gonna see if there's anything else to do around here," Dahlia said to Aqua.
She definitely didn't want to stay holed up in the dorm room all day, as the lack of space didn't really suit her style. After closing the door behind her, she began to wander around, looking to see if the dorm had a map somewhere inside it, or if there was any sort of activity bulletin somewhere.

Vicki finished unpacking, then sat down on the bed. "Ah good, it seems comfortable," she said, more to herself than to Laura.
"So, are you going to that midnight breakfast thing, whatever that is?" She yawned. "I'm not sure I'd be able to stay awake for it. I kinda need my sleep."

As Leona opens the door to her room, she'll hear a slight gasp and a small whoosh.
Stepping in, she'll see that her roommate is nowhere to be found, but it seems she was in the middle of unpacking before she left.
All the lights are turned off.
Dahlia, and anyone else looking towards the door to their room, should spot a sheet of paper taped to their door with a list of events that week, including student orientation the next morning, circled in bright red marker.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything going on at the moment.
Heading downstairs, Dahlia walks past the last few people getting their rooms, and spots a small table near the entrance with a stack of maps of the campus.
Sunglasses dude narrows his eyes. "You....."
He lowers one of his swords as the four broken ones floating behind him disappear.
"You're saying you really don't know how magic works here?"
